Chapter 149: The Gloomy Canyon

“You have to be careful. The snow here is very thin and the road is getting slippery,” Jiang Yun quickly reminded Qin Xiaoxi, who was following behind with some difficulty.

“Okay.”

Qin Xiaoxi nodded and tried to stabilize her body with her hands and feet.

At this time, the sky around them was obviously darker.

It seemed that they took a long time to climb this small hill.

Jiang Yun quickly reached out to pull Qin Xiaoxi, who was still behind him. The two of them successfully climbed to the top of this small hill.

In front of them was a huge cliff, and on both sides were the steep and towering ridges of the two snowy mountains.

The two of them slowly approached. The strange fog that surrounded the mountains actually covered the entire canyon, causing everything to give off a dark and strange aura.

It was also strange that the fog did not seem to have any intention of moving.

“I don’t know why I feel so stifled by this fog.” Qin Xiaoxi frowned.

Jiang Yun nodded.

The two of them arrived at the bottom of the canyon.

The canyon looked rather long. From time to time, there would be a trace of falling snow and gravel rolling down from the top, making a gurgling sound as it fell.

The two of them looked at each other for a while, then slowly walked into the canyon.

When they entered, Qin Xiaoxi and Jiang Yun felt that their vision was slowly becoming dim.

It was as if the night arrived ahead of time, the road in the canyon became dim and unclear. Fortunately, it was still daytime. If it were nighttime, they probably would not even see their own hand in front of them.

Jiang Yun moved one of his hands slightly, and a ball of light appeared in front of them.

This was a guiding light that Jiang Yun formed with his spiritual power.

It would follow a cultivator and bring light in the darkness.

After the light dispersed part of the darkness, the two of them saw that the road ahead was becoming narrow. Only one person at a time was allowed to pass through the narrowest area.

Jiang Yun took a rough look. Although both sides of the snow mountain looked very steep, the canyon between them was roughly the same width throughout. At the very least, it was safer.

However, the only thing he was worried about was the surrounding clouds. The clouds looked very thick, so thick that not even a ray of light could penetrate it.

The more Jiang Yun looked at them, the more he felt that it was strange.

“It was quiet on the way here. I haven’t seen the snow monster that people talk about.” Qin Xiaoxi’s gaze fell on the guiding light that was leading the way for them.

“We just arrived at the northern region. We can’t let our guard down yet.”

Jiang Yun felt that it would be great if the entire journey would be as smooth as it had been so far, however, his intuition was telling him that the road ahead would be much more complicated.

Thousand-foot tsunami, sea monsters, fierce storms…they had experienced all of these. But, what they would face in the northern region was definitely more dangerous than what they encountered on their ship.

Although they were still in the canyon, Jiang Yun could feel that the sky was getting dark.

They had to find a place to stay tonight.

The two of them walked for a long time before they finally walked out of the canyon, and the sky was already getting dark. Fortunately, they saw a cave at the exit of the canyon!

Qin Xiaoxi looked ahead of her.

In front of them was a vast snowfield. The white mountain range of Liancheng Changlong was not far away.

However, the snow mountain in the middle looked taller and more dangerous than the other mountains. From here, the highest peak went straight into the clouds.

“That… is…” Qin Xiaoxi was a little shocked.

“Yes, that’s the Holy Saint Snow Mountain,” Jiang Yun added. He looked up at the sky and saw that the weather would no longer allow them to continue moving forward. The wind around them became colder and fiercer.

“From the looks of it, we should be able to reach the foot of the Holy Saint Snow Mountain tomorrow. Let’s set up camp. Looking at the weather, I predict that there will be a big snowstorm tonight.” Jiang Yun and Qin Xiaoxi didn’t want to be buried in the snowstorm.

Therefore, the two of them conversed in the cave that they just discovered.

Jiang Yun took out his storage bag and took out the firewood and hay that he prepared in the afternoon.

Jiang Yun arranged them neatly on the cold ground.

Qin Xiaoxi quickly used her spiritual power and shot a ball of fire into the bonfire that Jiang Yun built.

Qin Xiaoxi and Jiang Yun took off their heavy gloves and raised their hands to the fire.

The sparks danced in the air and the firelight cast their elongated shadows onto the stone wall.

“It’s so comfortable.” Qin Xiaoxi’s hands were almost frozen stiff when they were outside. Even wearing gloves, she could still feel that her hands were almost frozen.

Qin Xiaoxi could feel the warmth of the flames, which was a great relief for her.

“Jiang Yun?”

“What’s wrong?”

“If we get the Holy Saint Snow Ganoderma and resolve the crisis caused by the Power of Blood Shadow, are you going back to Mount God of Heaven?” Qin Xiaoxi was suddenly curious.

Jiang Yun thought for a while.

“Probably not.”Jiang Yun shook his head.

“Why?” Qin Xiaoxi asked curiously.

“Because two of my disciples still need some experience. Maybe I will go somewhere else so I can increase their knowledge.”Jiang Yun felt a little helpless at this point. Of his three disciples, only Kong Li, who was from the Peacock tribe, had a high enough spirit realm that was worth mentioning. Yu Sisi and Xiong Ji hadn’t seen any growth for quite a while, which made Jiang Yun a little annoyed.

It wasn’t that they didn’t have talent. However, if Xiong Ji and Yu Sisi could be as amazing as Qin Xiaoxi, then the four of them would probably be invincible.

Seeing that Jiang Yun was looking at her, Qin Xiaoxi was also puzzled.

“Why are you staring at me like that? That’s very rude.”

Jiang Yun smiled.

“Nothing, I can see your talent and intelligence so I wanted to praise you,” Jiang Yun teased.

“It’s good that you can see it. Do you want to have a disciple like me?” Qin Xiaoxi replied with a smile.
