"I was thinking of talking with you a little more but I feel all my excitement draining out after talking with you for a second. I no longer want to have anything to do with you so I will be taking my leave now."

Lady Dheva did not wait a single second more than she was supposed to inside that room. She looked pissed off as she left and Minerva only smiled.

She had tried hard to reform the other lady but nothing worked out. In the end, Lady Dheva started her destruction.

"Are you going to come out anytime soon or not? I know you are there, child of the tower."

Alexander debated whether to go out or not right now. But Lady Minerva's addressing caused Alexander to finally step out in the light.

Why would he bother to hide now when he had been caught? It did not make sense to him anymore.

"You are a familiar face but I do not think we have ever met directly. Then, what are you doing here? Are you here to ask me a question?"

Minerva looked half out of it as she leaned against the bed she had been locked onto.

Despite being a prisoner, her condition did not seem as bad as it could have been. She was being treated fairly well right now with food and other necessities present.

But despite all that, being locked up was not a pleasant experience and Yohan was here to take Lady Minerva out.

"Alan asked me to help you out so I came here. You should tell me if there is something you want to take along with you."

Alexander asked as he picked at the locks Layd Minerva was bound by. They were made specifically to stop magic but they could not do anything in front of human force and intelligence.

That was why Alexander managed to unlock them in record time and free Lady Minerva.

"You sure are fast. How did you unlock these cuffs?"

Minerva looked surprised to be free again. She had not expected to see her wrist free in her lifetime but here she was.

Her surprise was genuine but it was also a reminder that these people did not see anything beyond magical force. They never took precautions against people who did not have a great amount of magic and did not even treat them right.

As someone who had suffered under the system for a long time, Alexander felt glee like never before when he was able to save Lady Minerva without magic.

"I was able to save you because I used my mind over my magic. You should not underestimate those who do not have great amounts of magic since they are generally more dangerous."

"I see. Since you did not have a lot of magic, you decided to apply other means to make do. It is certainly an eye-opening experience for me."

Minerva looked impressed before her expression changed into the serious one she often wore.

"Now then, I should start to play my part in this rescue as well. Do you have a destination in mind we can head toward?"

Minerva asked and Alexander handed her the slip Lord Alan had given him for this particular occasion. How the resistance leader knew that Minerva would ask for the location, even Alexander did not know.

But this did prove that these gods and goddesses had a bond that went beyond friendship. They seemed to be able to guess what the other party was thinking most of the time.

"Here, give me your hand. We will be teleported out of here right now."

Lady Minerva extended her hand and Alexander hesitated to allow her along. This place was warded against magic and that was why Alexander had a hard time moving around.

He decided to trust in lady Minerva and her magic so he ended up giving Minerva his hand. His stomach felt upset at the sudden force he was subjected to.

When Alexander came around again, he was standing in front of the door to the resistance base he had been asked to lead Lady Minerva too.

The transportation had been smooth and all Aenxader could do was look at Lady Minerva in a shocked daze.

,m "What? Never thought that I could force my magic through anti-magic locks? Who do you think made those locks in the first place?"

Alexander shook his head to clear out the weird thoughts from inside. Of course, he had knowns that Lady Minerva had made those anti-magic locks and that they had an out. But he had not expected to experience them himself.

And he had to say that he was impressed with what he saw.

Many resistance members rushed out as soon as they felt the commotion happening outside the base. Most of the looked startled to see Lady Minerva standing in front of them.

It was understandable why that happened since Lady Minerva had been their enemy for a long time now.

"What should we do?"

"We cannot possibly take her on?"

"B-But, we have to save everyone somehow."

The restraint members were whispering to each other as they eyed the goddess in front of them. No one knew what to make of this development.

No one but Lord Alan that is. The bald god walked out with ease and locked eyes with Minerva. They seemed to be communicating with their eyes and everyone looked started.

In the end, all Lord Alan did was a gesture for the lady to follow after him which she did. Everyone else fell quiet as that happened.

And then they all turned toward Alan with a question-filled expression which he had no answer for. He was as startled as everyone else was at the sudden happenings.

"Don't look at me like that. I only did what I was paid to do and nothing more. I will now head out back to the academy."

Alexander made an abrupt exit that left everyone baffled. But he was beyond done with these people.

Every time he interacted with them, they managed to empty his energy. And Alexander was tired of being led around like that.

"I need to find Rex and have a talk with him. It seems that the South will target the Rocx academy next. We need to get Aurora back to the surface."

There had been a lot of evidence of this attack that Rex had found when he had been undercover. And he was beyond certain at this point that this attack would come.

He was not loyal to the Rocx academy but it was like a home to Alexander. And he would like to protect it if possible.

Aurora banged at the door she was locked behind but no one answered her call. It meant that there was no one around her.

The feeling of being watched was getting more and more intense and it made Aurora walk in her place.

No one in her memory would want to have such a personal beef with her. So it had to be about something else.

The pain in Aurora's stomach was also worsening. The egg that had been dormant until now was giving her a lot of trouble all of a sudden. It was not only active but also made Aurora's moments limited.

Even walking was difficult to do inside the room since it was a closed-off space. There was a lack of oxygen that made Aurora's head spin.

"I'm sorry that this happened to you but we cannot risk you moving around and alerting the abyss to our existence. You have a bond with this cursed place that cannot be allowed to flourish."

It was Subaru who had come back to taunt Aurora. He sounded genuinely sad that Aurora was being held in such a position but that did make him stop and help Aurora.

If anything, he looked even happier to see Aurora fall off in front of him. The joy in his eyes was real.

"You are so lucky that I cannot use my magic right now. Otherwise, you would have ended up dying right about now."

Aurora threatened the kid, hoping that he would get scared and make a mistake. But that did not happen, nor did the kid make a mistake.

He did not even come close to Aurora the whole while, content from watching her struggle.

His eyes were filled with glee even as his mouth lied outright.

"It is all happening for your own sake. You might not see it but the abyss is corruption you as well. We are just trying to save you from a fate worse than death."

Subaru sounded so convinced that Aurora had to wonder if he was possessed or not. His eyes seemed normal but there was a weird energy around him.

His words also did not seem to make much sense and he was often repeating himself. It was all a big mystery for Aurora and she found herself curious without her input.
