Chapter 1358 Dinner
Once Jiang Yuyan was calm, Lu Lijun said, "Look at me."
She raised her head up from his chest and looked at him.
She looked like a lost child who didn't know what to do. It was as if he was her saviour and she wished to depend on her. After Lu Qiang left her, there was not a single moment when she thought to depend on anyone as she herself was a strong pillar who supported others. For the first time, she wished to let go of her strong stance and rely on this man in front of her. Though he was younger, he looked much more mature and someone who could be her shelter when she is lost.
He wiped her eyes gently as he said, "You don't have to worry about anything. Just focus on yourself and your health. Rest I will take care of. From now on, I will be the one to take care of everything."
She just looked at him. How this once stubborn guy looked suddenly grown up in the past few months. His words sounded assuring to her and she nodded.
"Martha told me you are yet to have dinner. Were you waiting for me?" he asked.
Subconsciously she nodded but the next moment lowered her gaze and said, "I..was just not hungry."
He smiled lightly, "That means now you are hungry."
She nodded again and heard him, "That's good. Even I am starving. Let's eat."
He held her hand and took her inside the room.
She stopped, "Let me clean my face."
She had cried and was aware her face must be looking unkempt.
"Fine. I will wait here."
Jiang Yuyan went inside the bathroom while Lu Lijun called Martha. He gave her a few instructions and hung up the call before Jiang Yuyan would come out.
Jiang Yuyan came out of the bathroom, "We can leave."
Lu Lijun nodded and the two went downstairs while Lu Lijun carried a trench coat in his hand.
Seeing the trench Coat, Jiang Yuyan asked, "Are you going somewhere?"
"Hmm," he nodded.
"Where?" she asked as they walked down the stairs.
"Somewhere out and you are coming with me," he replied and instead of the dining room, he took her out of the living room and walked towards the garden of that widespread residential estate.
She didn't ask anything while they continued to walk. Jiang Yuyan saw there was a huge circular gazebo which was decorated with beautiful lightning where Martha and Jerome were present. They had arranged the dinner for these two in the garden and inside that gazebo where the small circular dining table with two chairs around it were arranged.
Before she could ask more, Lu Lijun spoke, "Only two of us were yet to have dinner so thought to have it outside instead of in that lonely dining room."
Jiang Yuyan didn't oppose his decision and quietly walked with him, who never let go of her hand. She looked at her hand that he held as if it was just a natural thing for him to do. She smiled lightly and walked towards the gazebo.
When they reached closer to where Martha and Jerome were waiting for them, Jiang Yuyan tried to free her hand from Lu Lijun's hold or rather she thought he would let it go but instead he held it tightly and continued walking ahead.
Jiang Yuyan felt a little embarrassed as she didn't wish Martha and Jerome to see them like this but when they reached there the two servants acted as if they saw nothing and instead smiled at them.
They welcomed the two and Martha said as she looked at Lu Lijun, "If you need something, please call for me."
Lu Lijun nodded and the two servants left. Lu Lijun pulled the chair out of Jiang Yuyan and she sat in it. He put the trench coat on her shoulder and said, "You might feel a little cold."
"Thank you," she replied.
Lu Lijun sat in the chair opposite her and looked at the food served in their dishes. "Seems like Martha has overworked today. Everything looks good."
Jiang Yuyan observed the food and then looked at the happy guy, "She always cooks whatever you like."
"Well she has been taking care of me for the past ten years and cooking solely for me so it's a given," he replied happily and then picked up his spoon, "we should start or it will get cold."
Jiang Yuyan nodded, "She did really well."
The two had a peaceful meal and Jiang Yuyan realized that it was the first time the two were having a meal together being this relaxed. Before there was always something that stopped her from acting easygoing in front of him and feeling responsible for his every action.
"What are you thinking?" he asked.
"Nothing much," she replied and resumed eating.
After dinner, they walked for a while and then returned inside the home.
"If you want, you can sleep in my room," Lu Lijun offered.
Jiang Yuyan felt as if she had heard something wrong and looked at him feeling a little puzzled.
"I mean the atmosphere and view in my room are relaxing. You can sleep in my room and I will sleep in yours. It will help you get good sleep," he explained before she could get the wrong meaning.
She thought over it for a moment and agreed.
"I will ask Martha to get your things in my room," he said and guided her way upstairs. Reaching the room, he gave her medicines and water. She had it and just then there was a knock on the door. Lu Lijun opened the door and Martha was there who brought Jiang Yuyan's night pyjamas and a few other clothes.
Lu Lijun took it from her and Martha left. Jiang Yuyan saw her clothes in Lu Lijun's hands and immediately walked to get them from him as there were other clothes she didn't wish him to hold though he had helped her with it before.
He let her take her clothes and said, "Take it slow. You are weak and might miss a step. It's just clothes that every woman wears."
"I know," she said in a little displeased tone.
Lu Lijun let her be and didn't wish to anger her. He was just trying to ease the things between them. He went to the wardrobe and pulled out his night pajamas. "I'll be in Noah's room. If you need anything, you can call me."
She nodded and Lu Lijun left.
