Two arrows shot forward.
They both pierced the nape of the dinosaur, the only part of the dinosaur's body which was not covered in scales throughout.
The dinosaur did not even flinch though. It was like two flies hit bit it. But what this attack did do, was surprise it. It roared as it slowly turned to look at what happened.
And at this moment, the second dinosaur roared as it latched itself onto the first one, digging its claws into the dinosaur.
"Despairing strike!"
Jake jumped to strike the nape of a tumbling duo, and the attack did connect, dealing a stagger six hundred damage.
But the damage clearly did something. They were monitoring the HP gauge of the first dinosaur. And now, there was none left to see. But the dinosaur was still alive.
They could see it. It had two thousand HP left.
"Slash of Hunger!"
Jake was not going to let this opportunity slip through his hands. The same time that his sword hit the dinosaur, two arrows hit the dinosaur as well.

He kept attacking the dinosaur, using all the skills at his disposal.
Be behind him, Myriad Arrows was providing him with all the long range support that he could.
But at the end, these were all just tiny specks of damage to this behemoth. It still had a staggering five thousand HP to take care of, and that was only the remaining dregs. If it was was completely healthy, this battle would have been a fool's errand.
Roar!
The dinosaur was furious as it got up, unfazed by all the attacks that it was facing. Certainly, compared to the cyclops that they faced a few days ago, this monster was much, much stronger.
The dinosaur swiped against Jake, trying to take care of him in a single move. But Jake smiled at this moment.

As for the previous occupants, it took Jake and Myriad Arrows a short while to draw them out and put them in a pit fight with another monster.
They lost, obviously, and the cave was Jake's to have.
After a run that lasted thirty minutes, both Jake and Myriad Arrows were panting, but they were in front of the safe haven that they called home.
Rubbing their hands, they pushed open the boulder and stepped in, closing the boulder behind them.
For a moment, it was pitch dark, before a high pitched sound came from Jake's hand. It was a flare that gave light to the cave in front of them.
The cave was big alright, big enough for them to stay conformably.
In the center were a few fire logs, basic common grade material that they used as their primary lightsource.
After lighting the fire, Jake snubbed the flare as he could use it later as well. This was something that remained after the goblin raid, and since it already showed its greatness, it would definitely be useful in the future as well.
Then, they sat on the ground and looked at each other giddily.
"Tell me you found something really good." Jake looked at Myriad Arrows.
"I found them. Two whole eggs. Two dinosaurs that can potential become like the monsters that we saw today." Myriad Arrows smiled.
"Good. This is really good. I found three. The guild is all but set for later. Now then, we have to take a look at the loot that we got." Jake said, pouring out what he got from the big ones killing each other, as well as the small ones that he had killed.
Myriad Arrows nodded as he also took out a few items from his inventory. This was what he had found.
And then, they took a good look at what was I front of them, and their eyes shone brighter than diamonds.
