The sky above Beast Forest shrouded the environment in darkness. Isaac was holding a lantern with a small fire flickering inside.
The fire was bright enough to envelop the five-meter radius around Isaac in a yellowish hue. There were Players who were blindly moving in the forest, without any light to assist them, and Isaac used to be part of them.
Then, he decided to take his lantern everywhere. He never planned to stay in the forest once nighttime came, but it was out of his control.
He never liked to stay in the forest once the night dawned. But, now, he stayed for one specific reason.

Isaac had been grinding for the whole day, and the goal he was aiming for was only one kill away!

Isaac listened to the sounds closely and knew what he should expect to see in the cave. There was definitely either a waterfall or water pouring down from something. Then, there must also be a creature currently having a feast.
Before going to the cave, he decided that it would be a good time to assign his stats. He had prolonged it, not knowing where to add, but he couldn't afford to take risks.
He would preferably go to the dark cave with four levels higher stats.

"Mm…" Isaac rubbed his eyes and then reopened them.
"Wow…" His pupils dilated as he gazed at the rocky wall. His eyesight improved so much that he could see insects roaming around the cracks.
"I am ready…" He made sure that the fire won't suddenly die out. Then, he grabbed the handle into a tight hold and moved the lantern in front of him.
The tiny flickering flame sent a ray of light in front of him, and the dark cave wasn't as unclear anymore.
Isaac stepped into the cave and began walking forth. The cave walls were made of rock, and the air seemed dry.
Soon, he reached the end of the path.
Splash!
"Oh?" Isaac felt wetness surrounding his legs and dropped his gaze to look at what did he step on. The cave floor was submerged in water.
There was water gushing out from a crack in the floor. Soon, the wetness reached Isaac's knees, and he was sure that it was a matter of minutes before the whole cave was covered in water.
Splash!
He turned around and dragged his feet behind him as he tried to leave. However, then a speck of dust landed on his shoulder.
Isaac turned his gaze to the cave's ceiling and became pale in shock. There was a skinny pale-skinned man with a disgustingly long tongue hanging from vines. He didn't seem to have eaten for ages, the bones almost popping out from his wrinkly skin.

"GRAH!" Out of nowhere, Wendigo dropped from the ceiling and crashed with Isaac, causing them to submerge in the water.
Splash!
Both of them began desperately gasping for air. But, that caused their lungs to get filled with water quickly.
Isaac's back crashed with the rocky ground, and he saw the Wendigo squirming around. He was moving his limbs erratically, trying to swim to the surface, but obviously didn't know how to.
Isaac moved his arms gently and began to flutter kick. When his head was about to reach the surface, out of nowhere, a bony arm grabbed his leg that dragged him back to the depths of the water.
"Mmm!" He began slightly panicking. The air from his lungs was quickly seeping out, and it was only a matter of seconds before he would drown.
Isaac saw the Wendigo holding his leg while trying to take a taste!
Bam!
He smashed his foot into the Wendigo's face and broke something in the process but wasn't sure what and couldn't care either.
The Wendigo removed his hand and sank further away into the cave's depths.
Isaac used the chance given to him and swam back to the surface. Once his head popped out from the water, he began greedily inhaling the air into his lungs.
"Haahh… Haaahh…" Once he didn't feel as drained, he began to swim toward the cave's exit. The path where he came from was already submerged in water.
Then, an arm appeared from the underwater and grabbed his leg!
"What?!" Isaac's eyes widened in shock, and he was again dragged into the water.
Once his head was submerged in the water, he could see the crazed Wendigo trying to bite him desperately.
Then, Isaac slammed both of his hands into the creature's face, trying to push him away.
The Wendigo's head was pushed back. Then, he opened his disgusting jaw and tried to bite Isaac's ring finger off!
Isaac quickly pulled his hand back and saw that the Wendigo was aiming for his ring!
His eyes became red out of anger, and he began slamming his fist into the Wendigo's face. His strikes were made out of pure rage, and soon, it became clear that his attacks were causing significant damage to the creature!
