Chapter 569 You're Not The Only One Who Can Do That
My wings exploded out from my back and I used them to control my descent.
Looking back up, the floor had already been covered so we could not return back up there again.
This is odd… Assuming that Fuckface had control over the Dungeon, why would he make a trap like that? I get he was trying to prevent us from getting to the stairs and escaping from the Dungeon… But why would the stairs even be there in the first place?
Couldn't he just remove them completely?
Or maybe… Because he can't?
Eins flew to me, her own wings flapping in perfect sync with mine while carrying the two Rejmars over her shoulders.
I realised she was waiting for my orders after a moment.
"I guess we have no way to go but down…"
Looking down, I found that we had been dropped into a large, empty hall.
For some reason, this place was giving me the same vibes as the room that I got dropped into by Rikland and his party.
Speaking of which… I wonder if he died in that Dungeon?
Both Eins and I descended to the ground and dropped off the Rejmars we were carrying.
I feel a little bad for treating them like this but Gwen seemed to be more disappointed that I wasn't carrying her anymore instead of the other way around.
In fact… I think I can see the same expression on Thorn's and Olgar's faces so I decided not to ask.
And as though waiting for that exact moment, Fuckface appeared in front of us again.
"I'll admit… I did not expect you to be crazy enough to escape from that. I have underestimated you."
I considered if I should just punch him in the face again.
Sure, this probably wasn't his real body but at least I got a little bit of satisfaction from it…
"Did you really think you could escape? Hahaha! How does it feel to have your hopes crushed like that?! Wouldn't it be a shame if--"
I portaled in front of him and punched him in the face, blowing him back to smash against the wall all the way at the end of the hall.
He was getting annoying, ok?
"Damn… Remind me not to piss you off…" Olgar muttered.
Another Fuckface appeared and scowled at me, obviously not happy that I interrupted him.
"I'm giving you one last chance to consider your position carefully. You've already seen how much control I have over this Dungeon. If I do not want you to leave, then you can't leave and you will remain trapped here for eternity. I also have a never-ending surplus of monsters that I can throw at you, how long would you last against them? Isn't it a better choice to just give up your secret?"
I raised a finger, "You know what? I think the most important thing is consent, don't you think so? So let me ask~ Eins? Do you consent to letting this Fuckface know our little secret?"
"No, Master."
"There you go. Even the person herself said no so I guess you're all out of luck, Fuckface."
Of course, I actually mentally told Eins to say that because if I did not, her answer would just be that she would obey whatever I decided instead.
Fuckface obviously knew that so his face turned ugly, "Do you take me for a fool? Or do you seriously not realise what position you are in? Maybe you still think that you can escape from here?"
I shook my finger at him, "No, no. There's something I realised you see… You could have trapped us in an inescapable position but it seems like you can't do that, can you? Even though you have control over the Dungeon, it seems there are still some rules that you cannot break."
His face turned sour almost immediately which told me all I needed to know about whether I hit the nail on the head for that guess.
Seems like he does not actually have full control over the Dungeon but merely just taking temporary control over it, like some kind of virus or something?
I continued, "That means you would have to play by the Dungeon's rules and I believe one of the rules of the Dungeon is that there must always be a way out for the people diving in it, right? So you can't actually trap us somewhere without giving us a clear condition. Which I'm guessing also applies to this hall that you dropped us in."
His frown slowly turned into a smirk, "Alright, I'll admit that you indeed are smarter than I thought. And here I believed that you were just a pretty face."
He then waved his hand around, "You are right, I've only taken temporary control over this Dungeon by tricking it with a fake Dungeon boss. I will have to put a clear condition on this place even if I were to trap you in here. But that doesn't stop me from putting an impossible task for you… Like, for example, defeating a thousand enemies!"
The moment he said that, dark blobs rose up from the ground behind him and formed themselves into a mix of Shadow Devourers and Renegade Shadow Devourers.
Olgar and Thorn looked at the horde of monsters with fearful expressions, obviously believing that we could not defeat a horde of this size on our own.
Well, I suppose under normal circumstances, a standard party of Dungeoneers would find this challenging too.
Good thing we were not just a normal party of Dungeoneers though.
Fuckface turned to me with a smirk, "Last chance. You can save yourself and those Rejmars from the fate of death if you were to just give me the secret of creating sentient Shadow Summons. Otherwise, not only will those three die and be turned into Shadow Devourers themselves, I will hold you prisoner and torture you until you spit it out anyway."
I turned to look at my companions.
Gwen was giving me a look of confidence, clearly signifying that she had full trust in me to clear this trap without any problems.
Thorn and Olgar did not look as confident but neither of them were asking me to surrender either.
In fact, they were saying the opposite.
"Don't do it, Aster! If this traitor were to get a hold of that, he would not stop at taking over Frostiminir Kingdom! He would use this to plunge the rest of the world into chaos as well!" Thorn warned.
Olgar agreed, "This bastard would surely bring calamity to the rest of the world! We would rather die than let him achieve that or I would never be able to face my ancestors after this!"
Fuckface ignored them and continued to look at me, "So what would it be, girl? Are you going to die here with them?"
I pretended to think, "A thousand enemies is quite a lot for a party of five to beat… I would even say that it might be an impossible task for just five of us to beat…"
"Exactly, so why not do the smart thing and just surrender? I will even allow you to serve under me instead!"
"Oh? Really? You would not only let me go but also give me a place in your plan?"
"Hahaha! I am still a fair ruler after all! I do not wish for destruction, I wish for power! And I can't have power when everything is destroyed, can I?"
I nodded, "I see, I see… Makes sense. So what would happen if I actually manage to defeat a thousand enemies here? Would I be able to find your real body and punch you in the face?"
"Hahahaha! If you really manage to defeat all of my Shadow Devourers here, I'll let you do whatever you want with me, how about that?!"
I clapped my hands together, "Oh really?! That's perfect! Can I hold you to your word?"
He returned back to scowling at me, "Are you expecting the knowledge of that secret to protect you from me? Even though I might want to know how to do that, I do not necessarily need it. It will just be a matter of time before I figured out anyway, you are just here to speed up the process. So I am not averse to killing you."
I shrugged, "That's fine~ I plan on defeating all of these Shadow Devourers and make you eat your words, so just sit tight and wait to present yourself to me, ok? I have some pleasant things planned for you when I see you~"
"Hahaha! Do you really think you can fight them all alone?!"
I snapped my fingers, "Whoever said that I was alone? Everyone, come forth!!"
Ninety nine more Shadow Guards appeared around me from my shadow, all of them prepared for battle.
I could have called more but I think a hundred of them was enough to defeat a thousand of these Shadow Devourers so I kept it at this number. Besides, no need to reveal my full power to them.
You should have seen the look on their faces when my Shadow Guards appeared, it was priceless~
