Chapter 540 Stone Of Monsterfication

The next thing I knew, I was looking up at the ceiling and lying on the ground.

At least I didn't black out I guess.

I pushed myself up from the ground quickly, since the dragon was still alive and angry at my existence.

At least my summons had its attention for now after it smacked me with its tail, so I didn't need to worry about it attacking me while I was down.

Ok… So I have a big undead dragon that can keep healing itself unless I can somehow disintegrate the entire monster instantly…

Actually, I don't even know if that would be enough to keep it down… But I suppose that doesn't matter because I don't exactly have an attack that can completely disintegrate a dragon that size.

Do I just keep attacking it until it runs out of mana to heal itself? I don't even want to imagine how long that would take with its six hundred points in its magic stats…

I only have around five hundred and I already think that's quite a lot of mana.

But what else could I do? It's not like I have a nuke in my back pocket that I can just take out and blast it to oblivion.

The fact that it can heal itself with Necromancy…

Wait a minute… Since Necromany is healing it… Could I counter its healing with Iatromancy? That's how it usually goes right?

Well, fuck it, it's worth a shot.

I raised my hand and pointed my palm at the undead dragon, casting [Heal] on the dragon.

The effect was immediate as the dragon let out a roar of pain as though it was struck by an invisible force, the entire monster curling up into itself.

Seems like it's really effective.

Nice.

Oh, would you look at the time? It's time to spam healing spells!

Now that I knew its weakness, I simply started spamming healing spells one after the other while my summons wailed on it with their weapons, surrounding the dragon from all sides.

The monster even started backing up towards the wall like a whipped animal, wailing pathetically even as I continued to hit it with more [Heal] spells.

Huh… Who knew Iatromancy spells were this effective? I should have just used this on the Lich earlier too and did some dama--

The dragon roared again and more skeletons popped out from the ground.

But instead of remaining on the ground, the skeletons crawled up the dragon to cover it with their body, forming into a sort of armour around the dragon.

When I tried to cast [Heal] on the dragon again, I realised that I could only hit one of the skeletons that were covering the dragon but not the dragon itself.

What the heck? The monster can actually learn and adapt?!

Or… Was this just the next phase of the boss fight?

Well, fuck, there goes my plan of spamming the same spell over and over again…

Now what spell can I use to beat this stupid dragon?

Oh! I got one!

"Magic punch!!" I roared, buffing my fist with [Strength] and [Body Current] before punching it down on the dragon's head.

Hey, I buffed my fist with magic, so it counts as a magic attack!

The dragon managed to withstand the attack with just a flinch, but my main goal was not the dragon of course.

The punch itself created a shockwave that blasted apart a big chunk of the skeletons covering the dragon's head, opening it up to be targeted by me again.

I then placed my hand on the exposed part of its skull, gleefully casting [Close Wounds] on the undead dragon underneath me.

Once again, the dragon started wailing in pain but this time it tried to shake me off while bucking around like it had gone mad.

I managed to hold on to it tightly as I continued casting the healing spell on the dragon while my summons struck at it from below.

Soon enough, the dragon's movements seemed to be getting slower and slower until it looked like it was struggling to even stay upright.

Slowly but surely, it was losing strength and even its groans of pain were getting weaker by the second.

The dragon collapsed onto the ground with a loud thud, which also sent the skeletons it was using as its armour tumbling onto the ground in a heap of bones.

I continued casting [Close Wounds] on it for a while more but when the dragon remained silent despite that, I figured that it was well and truly dead.

And as though to confirm it, the music I was hearing in the background changed into a fanfare.

I leapt off the dragon, already commanding my summons to start disassembling it for parts while I waited for my Dungeon clear reward to appear.

A ball of light materialised in the air above me and it slowly descended to hover about a metre off the ground in front of me.

It then started to spin and glow brighter and brighter until I was forced to avert my eyes with how bright it shone.

Then with a loud 'pop' the light light was gone, leaving behind a… White rock?

What the heck is this?

I walked over to it and used [Screened] on the rock.

[Stone of Monsterfication- Changes target to a monster.]

What the fuck am I supposed to use this for?!

Come on!! Even though I didn't go through all the floors, I defeated or at least participated in the defeat of four bosses!! I even practically soloed the Dungeon boss too!! I deserve something good!!

What the hell am I supposed to do with this stupid item?! I don't want to change into a monster! Neither do I want to change anyone around me into a monster!!

No, I don't even want to change Riklan and his party into monsters!

I picked up the stone and tossed it away angrily.

What I didn't expect, however, was for the stone to hit one of my summons in the head, the stone striking her quite heavily with a loud thud.

And… Well… I guess I should have expected it but the stone shattered, releasing some kind of white miasma that stuck to the Shadow Summon it struck.

Almost instantly, a deep ringing pain started gnawing in my head, as though someone was trying to crack my skull open in half.

My hands grabbed onto my head as I fell onto the ground, the pain completely overpowering my senses and making my vision go white.

My mouth opened to scream and I was mildly aware that more than one scream echoed around me.

I desperately sought for something to help with the pain and my Unique Skill [Desensitisation] came to mind.

I immediately used it and willed it to block me from feeling pain, the skill taking effect almost immediately as the pain quickly dissipated.

Even though the pain was gone, I knew something was still happening since my summons were still collapsed on the ground and mimicking my pose of curling up on the ground.

The one suffering the worst was of course the summon that I had accidentally hit with the white stone, who was not only curled up but also convulsing and spasming on the ground. Her skin was also rippling around like the turbulent surface of water and it reminded me of how Mary would look when she was transforming herself.

Ok… This doesn't look good… I think?

I mean, what is that thing even trying to do with my summon? Is it really trying to turn her into a monster? How does that even work? And why do I feel pain from this and the other summons of mine seem to be affected too?

The stone was still attached to my summon and the white miasma was still flowing into her with no sign of it ending.

I briefly considered if it would be wise to just grab it and rip it off my summon since this was obviously the cause of the pain but before I could, the stone dissipated and all the white miasma finished flowing into my summon.

I watched as my shadow summon spasmed and contorted, her limbs twisting and her body rippling around like it was being moulded by something.

Ok… I guess too late to prevent that… So…

I tried to command my summons to gather around me but surprisingly, I realised that I could not control them anymore.

Umm… Ok… I really think that now is the time for me to be worried…

Before I could decide if I should just get the hell out of here, the one that had been struck by the stone suddenly went still.

She then slowly floated up to stand on her feet as her skin turned pale white, though her hair remained pitch black.

All around me, I realised my shadow summons were also undergoing the same metamorphosis and I could do nothing to stop it.

Then, the summon opened her eyes, revealing that her sclera were completely black in colour while her irises were white.

I was fully prepared to fight my own summon when all of them suddenly fell to the ground on a knee in a respectful pose.

"Master," They greeted in unison.

What the fuck is going on?!
