Chapter 1450: Xinran Loves You
Lin Na laughed. "Do you think that taking my heart is enough to kill me, Binglan? Hahaha! How naive! Nearly my entire body is filled with my spirituality. Unless you can burn my whole body to ashes, even a drop of blood is enough for me to be reborn as new!" [1]

Xinran came to Sophie’s rescue and kicked him right in the waist. "Get lost!"
Lin Na was sent flying all the way to the throne, but he continued laughing like a madman, "You can’t kill me, haha, none of you can kill me… but I can destroy all of you with ease!"
He then raised Starlight into the air, summoned a terrific gust of energy and chanted, "Destruction from the end of the world, heed my command and destroy everything around me—Nine Heavens Annihilation!"

It was 100% a forbidden spell!
Panicking, I shouted, "Invincible now!"
He Yi, Lin Yixin, Li Chengfeng and more all activated their invincibility skills, but not everyone had such equipment. The only thing they could do was die!
I activated Dark Shield and gave myself 30 seconds of invincibility. Then, I ran up to Xinran, held her in my arms, then ran up to Binglan and covered both their bodies with my own!
BOOM—
The ground shook, the sky turned into bloody flames, and a destructive shockwave spread out from Lin Na. Then, the cave, no, the entire Sainthelm Ruins itself dissipated into dust as if it had been struck by a nuclear bomb!
Even though I was protected by an invincibility skill, the terrible pain enveloping my body felt all too real. The ice around me all disintegrated into dust.
The NPC armies of Sky City, Violet Empire and all other NPCs crumbled away into dust. The only survivors were Karinshan, Sophia and a couple more people.
When the dust finally settled, Karinshan stared blankly at the remains—or rather, the lack thereof—of her soldiers before breaking into tears. "Why did it turn out like this? Why did it turn out like this? All those loyal soldiers who came all the way to protect their homes, dead without even bodies to bury…"

"Big brother…" Xinran held my arm while shivering. "Big brother, I’m sorry, but I can’t stay with you anymore…"
"Xinran?" I looked at her in confusion.
Complexion pale, she continued, "I must send Lin Na back to the Purgatory, or the human realm itself will become a new Purgatory… I…"
At the distance, Lin Na raised his sword and chanted some more, "Braves of the Purgatory, rise! It is time to occupy all the cities and taste the fresh meat they contain! This time, you may enjoy their screams and fill your stomachs to your heart’s content!"

Swhoosh swhoosh swhoosh…
Bloody rays of light flew out of the vortex again and again. Every time they appeared, the system would make an announcement—

A panting Sophie pulled herself out of a pile of rubble and said, "We need… we need to send Lin Na back to the Purgatory now. He just used up all of his power, so if we send him back now he won’t be able to open another spatial crack to the human realms for a short time. This is our only chance… or we will all die when the legions of darkness take control of the entire continent…"
Binglan tried to push herself back to her feet using the Dragonslaying Sword, but she quickly stumbled back to the ground. She barely had any divine energy left after all the battles she had fought up until this point!

Xinran abruptly raised the Dragonbone Spear and stomped her feet. The next moment, she appeared in front of Lin Na with her spear through his chest. She didn’t stop running toward Abyss of Death as she said softly, "You will come to the Purgatory with me, Lin Na!"
Lin Na roared angrily and punched her on the shoulder. "You think you can take me to the Purgatory in your state? Dream on!"
"Ugh…"
Xinran spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, but continued to charge full speed toward the vortex that led to Abyss of Death with Lin Na.
……
"Xinran!"
I threw all caution to the back of my mind and raced toward Xinran with all I got. Without hesitation, I plunged into the vortex together with Xinran and Lin Na.
Shocked but not incapitated, Lin Na laughed and grabbed the Dragonbone Spear lodged in his chest. He snapped the upper portion of the spear in half and stabbed Xinran in the chest, spilling her blood and causing her to let out another painful groan.
My chest boiled with pain and fury when I saw this. Still falling, I grabbed Xinran with one arm and thrust the Chill of the Nine Provinces into Lin Na’s neck with the other. At the same time, I shouted, "Let’s go home together, Xinran!"
However, she shook her head and pointed downward. Lin Na had sunk his hand into her stomach and refused to let go. While enduring the terrible pain, she squeezed out, "You cannot come to the Purgatory with me, big brother. You cannot…"
Tears spilled out of my eyes as I clung to her arm tightly. "No, Xinran!"
She looked back at me with just as many tears. "We’ll meet again, big brother! And… Xinran loves you, big brother! Xinran will always love you!"
……
I felt something hitting me in the chest and launching me into the air. It was Xinran’s knee. My ascent wouldn’t stop no matter how hard I tried to stop it using the Domain powers of Heavenly River Transformation. Meanwhile, Xinran and her tears continued to fall into darkness.
Swhoosh!
I was thrown out of the vortex as it began to close.
(Author’s Note: I’m aware that this chapter is very short, but I don’t feel well enough to write more. Please forgive me this once…)
