"Michael!"
Karinshan unsheathed her own sword and charged the boss without hesitation. Fire whirled around her body as she fired a crescent-shaped sword blast at him.
Whoosh…
However, the flame attack passed through his torso like nothing and only rippled his body. It looked like it did no damage to him at all.
Karinshan stared in confusion. "What’s going on?"
Michael cackled and discharged a lightning ball that sent Karinshan stumbling at least dozens of steps to the back before crashing into an ice wall. She didn’t take any damage because she was protected by divine energy, but her confidence was dealt a great blow. She could hardly believe that one Michael the Hollow Thunder was giving her so much trouble.

Xinran narrowed her eyes at Michael before smiling. "Lady Karinshan, you are unable to damage him earlier because he is using the Water Mirror Spell."
"Water Mirror Spell?" Karinshan exclaimed in astonishment.
"Mn."
Xinran nodded. "Water Mirror Spell is an ancient secret art that renders its user usable temporarily intangible and allows them to avoid all damage. It is supposed to be a long-lost art, so I wonder where this villain managed to obtain this spell."
"How do we dispel it?" Karinshan asked.
Xinran chuckled. "Just leave it to me!"
Xinran abruptly dashed forward before stabbing her Dragonbone Spear into the ice beneath her feet. Then, she clasped her hands together into a rhombus shape, gathered her divine energy and cried, "Thorny Light!"
A piercing light filled the entire cavern. The next moment, Michael fell on his butt, and the strange mirror surrounding his body shattered into pieces. "How is this possible? How could this be…"
Xinran declared with confidence, "Looks like the Water Mirror Spell is not too special after all… you want to kill him, Sophie?"
"Sure!"
Sophie unsheathed her sword and was about to act when a man blocked in front of her. He was a general wearing black armor and carrying a ring of iron chains on his shoulders. "Lady Sophie, please leave this vile man to me. He and I are old enemies. I promise I will slay him for sure!"
"Oh?" Sophie shot him a glance. "Are you Callan of the Dragon Domain?"
"Yes, Lady Sophie. I’ve joined Sky City!"
"Very well…"

That’s right, the general was none other than Callan the Dragon Knight Captain himself. He used to be the Dragon Speaker Binglan’s loyal subordinate, but now he was Karinshan’s royal knight instead.
After Callan turned back toward Michael, he swung his chains repeatedly until a cyclone of energy was surrounding his whole body. Then, he charged toward Michael with a roar and launched his chains like a web.
"You are courting death, loser!"
Michael cackled madly and knocked the chains away with his bare fists. However, Callan was able to use the opening to get close to Michael and thrust a conjured icicle toward his heart.
"Hmm?"
Michael frowned but puffed out his chest and circulated it with lightning. "Thunder Shield! You think you can hurt me, weakling?"
Shred!
As it turned out, Callan could. To Michael’s astonishment, Callan’s icicle actually pierced through his Thunder Shield and broke one of his ribs. It would’ve passed through his heart if his astral energy wasn’t protecting it.
"Heh!"
Callan abruptly snapped his icicle in half before landing a roundhouse kick squarely on Michael’s face. Blood spewed out of Michael’s lips as he staggered about four or five steps away from Callan.
"Pooh!"
Michael spat out an incisor hatefully before unsheathing his sword. Then, he stabbed it into the ground and growled, "Thunder Sword Web!"
Swhoosh swhoosh swhoosh…
The ice beneath our feet shook, and threads of lightning suddenly burst out of the ground and wrapped around Callan’s ankles from below. It both immobilized him and scorched his boots completely black.
"Hahaha, how does that feel, my righteous Dragon Knight Captain?"
Michael let out another evil cackle.
Callan gathered his strength and shredded the web of lightning with sheer power. Then, he launched his chain against Michael’s shoulder like he was throwing a spear. However, more threads of lightning burst out of the ground and shackled Callan even further.

Meanwhile, I frowned at the scene and walked up to Karinshan, Xinran and Sophie. "Don’t you see that Michael is trying to buy time? I bet that something sinister is happening at the bottom of this ice cave. It is the only reason Micahel would try to stop us here. He should know that there is no way he could stop Xinran and Sophie combined."
Xinran’s mouth opened. "Big brother, are you suggesting we…?"
"Exactly!"
I nodded without hesitation. "We need to kill Michael and reach the bottom of this ice cave as soon as possible. Otherwise, we may come to regret our decision later!"
"Very well!"
Xinran nodded and vanished from my sight faster than I could blink. When I turned to look at Michael, I saw that his head was already sailing across the air even as his body was attempting to step away from Xinran. Incredible! The boss wasn’t able to survive even a single blow from her!
Gui Guzi exclaimed in admiration, "Man, is this how NPC fights go? Unbelievable. Michael is a Quasi-Divine Rank boss, but he still couldn’t withstand a single hit from her. Your little sister is out of this world, Boss Broken Halberd!"
I nodded. "Let’s go. Time to head to the bottommost level of this cave and see if there are big profits to reap!"
"Yeah!"
Karinshan also unsheathed her own sword and ordered, "Warriors of the Silver Moon Alliance, full speed ahead! We are entering the bottommost level of this ice cave!"

The ice cave was shaped like a spiral, and we were at the uppermost layer right now. We would have to follow the spiraling passage and fight all the way to the bottom. And yes, I said ‘fight’ because there were plenty of monsters along the way. Assuming that we tried to clear out everything in our path, it would take between 5 to 10 hours at the very least. It was because most of the mobs were deity-rank mobs or Ancient Immortal Rank minibosses.

I canceled my Fusion Armor and pulled Beiming Xue up to the Ancient Divine Dragon. Then, I said, "Come on, we’ll fly to the bottom floor right away. Chaos Moon, I trust you to lead our brothers and sisters and fight your way down the passage. If for whatever reason we fail to defeat the final boss, then at least we would have grinded some profit here. This is the nest of the Purgatory Legion after all!"
Chaos Moon nodded. "Got it. Be careful!"
And so the five of us carried one passenger each before flying down to the bottom of the ice cave. Karinshan, Sophie and Xue Wei jumped off the edge without any fear whatsoever. Divine Rank experts like Xinran and Sophie could fly, so the seemingly bottomless pit wasn’t a problem for them either. The rest of the NPCs relied on their griffin riders to carry between 2 to 3 people before flying to the bottom. Of course, Breeze and Rain was riding his Purple Wing Unicorn, Vienna’s Sorrow his black dragon, and Candlelight Shadow’s his fire dragon. As for Warsky, the amazing bastard just jumped off the edge and relied solely on the Immortal Blade to keep him alive. Call him crazy, but never a coward[1]!
The wind blowing against our garments was so chilly that I almost couldn’t open my eyes. Thankfully, the Ancient Divine Dragon automatically summoned a protective layer of flame to keep us warm. High-rank mounts were nice like that.
Squinting to keep the wind from entering her eyes, Beiming Xue said with a chuckle, "Do you think we’ll die at the bottom of this cave, big bro? This is the first time I’m so unsure about our chances…"
I laughed. "Relax, it’s only a level even if we die. It’s not like this is Final Duel Valley."
"Mn!"

About 5 minutes of flight later [2], the sea blue light of ice suddenly entered my eyes all of a sudden. I hurriedly slowed down our descent and was able to come to a complete stop right before we were about to hit the bottom.

Ice flew everywhere as Warsky crashed with a loud bang about ten meters away from me.
An arm clung to the edge of the small pit, and Warsky pulled himself out with just 20% HP left in his health bar. He groaned, "Damn, that hurt!"
Breeze and Rain arrived on his Purple Wing Unicorn as well. The second he saw that Warsky was low on health, he immediately made his way toward the guild leader without a word.

However, I immediately activated Fusion Armor and blocked in front of Warsky. I planted the Chill of the Nine Provinces into the ground and smiled innocently at Breeze and Rain. If the guy thought that he could kill a Chinese player right before my eyes, he would have to think again!

I looked at the direction she was pointing and found that this part of the cave looked like a hall of some sort. There was a long staircase leading toward a deeper section of the cave, and the NPCs were all moving toward it already.
"Let’s go… we’re almost at our destination!" I said.
"Mn!"
Lin Yixin also transformed her Crimson Crystal Dragon into a mark on her arm before walking up the stairs side by side with me.
The stairs were less than a hundred meter long. It led up to a brilliant place that looked like a royal palace.

It was a stunning sight. Positioned directly in front of the sacred hall was a bloody red throne, and behind the throne was a hill of swords that could almost be mistaken for steely brambles. Sitting on the throne was none other than the evil Dragon Speaker we had fought a while ago, Mingyu. None of us was expecting[3] to see him here!
That wasn’t what shocked us the most though, not at all. A brilliant, icy crystal floated at the center of the sacred hall, and encased in it was a woman of supernatural beauty. She wore an exquisite-looking battle armor and a pair of sea blue-colored war boots. Her arms were slightly spread like she was about to embrace someone, and there was a tiny wound on one of her smooth, long legs. Her frozen blood looked like a translucent blood diamond!
Something was very wrong, however. The top of the ice crystal was entangled in green vines, and countless poisonous fruits that looked like upright wild gingers. It was the same fruit that we saw spilling its contents against a glacier earlier. Right now, the same liquid was slowly seeping through the ice and dripping onto the woman’s hair…

Mingyu opened his eyes and smiled widely. "Hehe. Wake up soon, my greatest pride and strongest Dragon Speaker in the world. Don’t make your teacher wait too long. You are no longer just my student anymore. Now, you are also my precious little daughter. When you finally awaken, you will obey me and me alone!"
A trembling Callan abruptly collapsed to his knees and burst into tears. "Lady… Lady Binglan…"
