Chapter 1378: Shatter Queen

It was past 5 am right now. I was extremely satisfied with my experience growth, and my solo grind with Pure Love had finally pushed me into the Top 5. Currently, the scores were extremely close, and there were a ton of famous players who failed to make it on the contribution ranking—

Name Country Points

Tear Stain Korea 210280

Breeze and Rain India 210110

Broken Halberd Sinks Into Sand China 198740

Vienna's Sorrow USA 187360

God of War India 179200

Candlelight Shadow China 178270

Wind Fantasy China 179120

Luo River God of the Capital China 177260

Little Piglet None 174280

Red Maple Japan 174220

After this, all I needed to do was to kill some bosses to propel me to the top. Tear Stain and Breeze and Rain were powerful rivals, but their stats were lower than mine, they didn’t have as many AoE skills as me, and I was wielding the greatest weapon of the Twelve Divine Armaments, the Chill of the Nine Provinces. Be it its super high Attack, lifesteal effect, splash effect, or Xuanyuan Art, they were all god-tier in terms of murdering the fuck out of everyone and everything!

"Big bro…"

Beiming Xue reined in her Dragonscale Beast after she caught up to me and pointed to the canyon exit up just ahead of us. "The map opens up significantly after we get out of here, but I heard that multiple terrible battles are happening over there right now. The Northern Alliance, the India server, the Japan server, the Russia server and more have all appeared on that map!"

"Yeah. Let’s go. For more contribution points!"

"Yeah!"

I gave my dragon’s hair a soft tug, and it obediently flew out of the canyon and into a long barren land. I saw huge, crumbling totems at least hundred of meters tall spread across the plains, and a golden statue of a god even further away from me. However, its color had mostly faded due to the erosion of time.

Ding~!

System Notice: You have entered the map—Ancient Chaotic Secret Realm. There are ten powerful Sovereign Rank bosses on this map, and each boss is carrying a priceless treasure that will 100% drop upon death. However, be warned that these Sovereign Rank bosses are extraordinarily powerful and far beyond anything you’ve encountered so far. You should bring some companions with you before embarking on this journey!

……

"Fuck!"

I cried out in excitement while gripping the Chill of the Nine Provinces tightly, "There are ten Sovereign Rank bosses on this map? They even drop a priceless treasure upon death? That’s amazing! We must seize this opportunity!"

Moonlight Stone smiled. "I wonder if the Twelve Divine Armaments and the Seventy-two Ghost Armaments are among these so-called ‘priceless treasures’?"

I nodded. "Most likely. The drop rate of Twelve Divine Armaments is probably pretty low, but the Seventy-two Ghost Armaments is a different story. Also, some Ghost Armaments are as good as the Twelve Divine Armaments."

"Yeah. Let’s go seek out some bosses then!"

"Mn!"

It took a moment, but I split up our 15000-man party into 15 smaller parties of a 1000 players each to search for the Sovereign Rank bosses. The map was so huge that it appeared to be lifeless even though we knew that at least a couple hundred thousand players had entered this map. I even saw a ton of fiend-rank mobs that hadn’t been killed by the early arrivals.

My 1000-man party had Beiming Xue, Moonlight Stone, Pure Love and more elite players. We also brought 100 priests to ensure that we could challenge any boss, no matter how strong.

……

Maybe it was because it was early in the morning, but the fog kept growing thicker and thicker. Through it, we saw undead soldiers wearing armor and carrying iron halberds marching across the plains. They weren’t just standing around and waiting for the players to attack them. No, they were marching somewhere to attack the light faction!

Since the March of Chaos patch was launched, the armies of the Night Creatures and the Silver Moon Alliance had been fighting one another. We just happened to stumble upon one such undead army.

"Hiss hiss…"

The faces hidden behind the iron helmet were absolutely gruesome to look at. They looked like what you might expect from a dog who was left to rot for at least half a month: swollen and crawling with maggots. The worst part was that they were sticking out their unnaturally long tongues and hooting at us travelers. I counted about a hundred of them, and one of them was a boss riding a ghastly warhorse. I relaxed when Dark Pupils revealed the boss to be a Level 300 Immortal Rank boss. At this stage of the game, Immortal Rank bosses were not too difficult for the average player to topple. It was the Ancient Immortal Rank bosses that we had to watch out for.

Chiang!

I unsheathed the Chill of the Nine Provinces and declared smilingly, "First squad, follow me to keep the boss busy. The rest of you, take out the fiend-rank guards. Don’t allow them to penetrate our formation."

As everyone began unsheathing their weapons as well, I activated Fusion Armor and charged the boss. I was able to stun it probably because I had full buffs from Pure Love. After I executed Purple Frost Concentration + Burning Blade Slash combo, I followed up with Myriad Swords Obliteration + Icy Cyclone Domain combo that successfully seized the boss's aggro in a death grip. Finally, I summoned my Phantom Wolf King and attacked the boss from two different directions.

The boss roared angrily as he struck my shield with his blade, "Filthy humans, you think your puny strength is enough to stop the march of the Purgatory Legions? Give up! You are just lambs waiting to be slaughtered!"

Chiang!

My body shuddered from the impact, and I lost around 170k HP. It was nothing. I was sitting on 2,500,000 max HP thanks to an HP buff card and Pure Love’s buffs. This level of damage might as well be a mosquito’s bite.

Bang!

A well-placed arrow struck the boss squarely in the chest and cracked its armor, causing black blood to flow out from between the gaps. It came from Beiming Xue, of course. Not only that, the attack triggered the fearsome Xuanming Flame and dealt continuous damage to the boss. The reason the Xuanming Bow was one of the Twelve Divine Armaments was because even her basic attack could deal massive splash damage. It made her more like a cannoneer than an archer.

The priests healed me in organized fashion, and Dragonlight Cavalry ravaged the boss with Barrier Breaks and other deadly skills.

"Get away from me!"

Suddenly, the boss shouted in rage and began spinning like a top. It was the skill "Whirlwind Slash", an unstoppable cyclone of steel that dealt damage to everything within 5 meters of the boss. Two Dragonlight Cavalrymen dropped to low health because of the skill, but I was able to regain the aggro by landing three consecutive strikes on the boss's neck.

It was easy. Less than three minutes later, the boss dropped to his knees with a death cry, "The power of hell cannot be defeated! The wheels of the Purgatory Legion will grind you defiers into dust!"

"Grind your dad, asshole!"

I swung my blade and sent its head rolling a far distance away from me. A shower of equipment and items then erupted from its headless body. After Beiming Xue went through the loot quickly and confirmed that the best one was an Immortal-grade helmet, the Dragonlight Cavalry rolled the dice against one another to determine its ownership. I could have claimed the equipment for myself since I was easily the player with the highest guild contribution points in the guild, but why on earth would I do that? It was just an Immortal-grade helmet. Though, obviously I was going to stake my claim if a super good Divine Armament or whatever were to drop. It was the way of the world.

……

After the small undead platoon was dead, I pointed my sword to the front while absorbing the boss's undead soul spark. "We shall continue along this path. If more Night Creature armies show up, all the better!"

Speaking of undead soul spark, I was still an Asura King all this time. It was every man’s natural desire to become a godlike existence, but the goddamned evolution bar almost never budged. Oh well. Slow and steady wins the race. If one year wasn’t enough to make me an Asura God, then I would grind a couple years more. Years should be enough for me to become an Asura God… right? Right?

So far, we hadn’t suffered a single casualty. Our party composition had cavalrymen, Dragonlight Archers, Holy Mages, priests, bards and all the classes you might want to see in a combat party. Unless our opponent was overwhelmingly stronger than us, they wouldn’t be able to wipe us.

Trat trat trat...

As raindrops started falling from the sky and splashing against my Guardian Dragon Armor though, a faint uneasiness started growing in my heart. I kept feeling that our journey would not go as smoothly as I hoped.

Beiming Xue suddenly looked around in alarm. "Big bro, my heart rate just quickened for no reason. My senses are telling me that we are soon to encounter a super boss…"

Pure Love teased her, "I’m not so sure about that. Maybe your heart rate quickened because you saw a man you like?"

Beiming Xue said with a blush, "Nah, my heart rate only speeds up when I’m watching big bro close up…"

Me: "..."

Pure Love covered her forehead as if she couldn’t stand this. "Look at how faithful she is! You should claim her if you have a heart, Lu Chen!"

I curled my lips. "Yeah, not gonna happen. Beiming is and will always be my little sister!"

Beiming Xue chuckled. "Yes, and I’m satisfied with just this."

It was at this moment Moonlight Stone let out a cough. "Guys? Stop chatting. The boss is here…"

"Ah?"

We looked as a gigantic woman about ten meters tall emerged from the fog. She wore a metal armor that looked ridiculously heavy, and wielded a maddeningly huge sword. She also wore a silver laurel that suggested that she was a queen of some sorts. She was kind of pretty, but she was also a giant. It took a person of peculiar tastes to be aroused by a pair of muscular legs that were thicker than your torso.

"Huh. A long-legged goddess…" Tiger Leopard Knight exclaimed in astonishment.

I looked back at Beiming Xue’s legs and said, "Eh, Beiming Xue’s legs are better…"

Beiming Xue covered her mouth and giggled. "You’re so bad, big bro!"

……

It was at this moment Moonlight Stone spoke up again, "Oh shit. Stop fooling around, you shameless couple. This woman is no ordinary boss. She’s a Sovereign Rank boss! Prepare for battle!"

"Sovereign Rank!?"

I smiled as I scanned the boss with Dark Pupils—

Shatter Queen Lin Qian (Sovereign Rank Boss) [1]

Introduction: The queen of the ancient giant race, she became a forerunner of the undead legion after succumbing to the temptation of power. She possesses unparalleled strength, and it is rumored that she can cut Dragonbone Mountain Range in half in one strike.

……

I hurriedly barked out a series of orders, "All units, scatter! A Sovereign Rank boss must have an AoE skill! Dragonlight Cavalry, protect our squishies and leave all the tanking to me! Priests, amges, archers, make sure you’re at least 30 yards away from the boss before you try anything, and be ready to escape from a sudden attack at any moment! Tiger Leopard Knight, patrol the area with 200 Dragonlight Cavalrymen and chase away any force that isn’t Ancient Sword! This boss fight will require our full focus!"

Tiger Leopard Knight nodded determinedly. "Yes, Lu Chen!"

1. T/N: I wonder if it’s a coincidence that searching for 林茜 reveals a very… thick woman… ☜
