Chapter 425 Unknown Number

Villain Ch 425. Unknown Number

Allen emerged from the portal and found himself back at the eerie entrance of the Cursed Crypts. The disembodied voice of Thera, the ghostly maid NPC, greeted him with her haunting tone. "Welcome back, Heartless Demon," she said politely.

But Allen paid her no heed. Instead, he was lost in his own thoughts, pondering the impact of his recent warning to Elio, Darren, and Liam.

He harbored no grand expectations that they would undergo an instant transformation, suddenly becoming friendly or cooperative. Allen was far too practical for that. His warning had been an act of kindness, a rare gesture on his part. He didn't anticipate any immediate changes, but he couldn't help but wonder if his words had at least sown a seed of doubt in their minds. It was a small hope, but it was there, lingering in the back of his thoughts.

As Allen stood there, lost in his thoughts, contemplating the effects of his recent warning, he suddenly heard familiar voices approaching from behind him. It was Bella and Alice. They came from inside the mansion and approached him in casual steps.

"Hey there, Allen," Alice chimed in cheerfully, followed by Bella's warm greeting. "Yo! What's on your mind today? Why are you standing there like a statue?" she said in the same cheerful voice.

Allen turned to face them. "Hey, guys. I thought you guys were still AFK."

"Nah, we won't AFK that long," said Bella in a nonchalant tone.

Once they were near him, Alice continued, "Anyway, we were just checking the gaming forum, and there's a rumor going around that one of the villains went on a rampage at the Black Castle."

His expression shifted from contemplative to one of acknowledgment. "Ah, that would be me," he admitted with a hint of mischief in his voice. "I just completed my daily quest there."

Bella raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "Really? Anything interesting happen?"

Allen grinned, unable to resist sharing a little of his recent escapade. "Well, I did encounter some familiar faces—Elio, Darren, and Liam. Gave them a friendly warning, you know?"

Alice raised an eyebrow, connecting the dots as she asked, "So, does this have anything to do with that warning you just sent in the group chat?"

Allen nodded in confirmation. "Absolutely," he replied. "That's why I decided to pay them a visit and gave them some warnings."

Bella looked puzzled. "But why warn those boys when they were the ones causing trouble in the first place?"

Allen chuckled softly, his tone mischievous. "Well, you see," he began, "they've fallen under Sophia's influence, and it's my hope that my little warning might make them rethink their choices."

A wicked grin crept across his lips as he continued, "Besides, if they have any intentions of causing problems for me and you guys, wouldn't it be more entertaining to divide and conquer? Pit them against each other, I say."

Alice and Bella exchanged glances, both amused and intrigued by Allen's devious schemes. They knew that, despite his cunning ways, Allen always had an underlying desire to maintain some semblance of order and balance.

Alice nodded in agreement with Allen's explanation. "You have a point there," she admitted. "Sometimes, a little chaos can work in our favor, especially when dealing with tricky situations."

Bella, her eyes narrowing with curiosity, leaned in and asked, "So what's your real purpose? Do you want to warn Elio or make them turn against each other?"

Allen flashed a sly grin, his crimson eyes glinting with mischief. "Well," he began, "I'd say it's a bit of both. Killing two birds with one stone."

The two girls exchanged knowing glances and couldn't help but chuckle. They were well aware that Allen always had a few tricks up his sleeve, and his penchant for turning the tables on his adversaries was one of the things that made their adventures in the game so exciting.

But before they could speak more, an announcement appeared in front of Allen.

[You got a call. Do you want to accept it?]

[Yes / No]

In the past few days, he had just bought a device to connect his phone to his VR device. But it was for calls only, and that was usually reserved for urgent matters.

Allen quickly spoke, "Sorry, guys, I just got a call. I'll have to AFK for a bit."

Alice and Bella both responded, "No problem, take your time."

Allen carefully removed his VR device, reacquainting himself with the familiar surroundings of his room. He reached for the phone resting on his desk and noticed that the caller ID displayed an unknown number. Despite the uncertainty, he decided to pick up.

"Hello," Allen greeted cautiously.

A calm, male voice responded from the other end of the line, "Hello, is this Allen?"

"Yes. Who is this?" he confirmed, his voice tinged with curiosity and anticipation.

"I'm Alex Frostbane," the caller on the other end introduced himself, and a rush of emotions coursed through Allen as soon as he heard that name. "Could I speak with you for a moment?" Alex inquired politely.

Allen's heart pounded in his chest. "Sure. What can I do for you, sir?"

"Mr. Jordan invited you to take a DNA test at 8 AM tomorrow at White Wings Hospital," Alex informed Allen over the phone. "I'll pick you up half an hour before the test. Does that work for you?"

Allen considered the request for a moment before replying, "Yes, I'll be ready in the morning. See you then."

With their arrangements made, they bid each other goodbye, and the call came to an end.

Allen ended the call, a smile played on his lips. He couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation mixed with curiosity about what this DNA test might reveal. Mixed feelings of nervousness and excitement welled up within him. The prospect of tomorrow's DNA test promised answers, and he couldn't help but look forward to uncovering the truth that had eluded him for so long.
