Villain Ch 30. Perfect Sync

With a deep breath, he lunged forward, his eyes locked onto the ghoul's every movement. His fingers twitched with anticipation. He couldn't spam these black lances since all skills have a cool-down time. So, the player's skill was very important in this game.

'Demonic Energy. Demonic Claw.'

Allen's hands were now covered in jet-black scales, thick as armor and sharp as blades.

[Countdown: 15 minutes.]

The Ghoul let out a low growl, its eyes fixated on Allen as he approached. A sign that it would attack him.

As Allen drew closer, the Ghoul tensed, ready to pounce at any moment. Its teeth bared in a snarl, its claws flexing in anticipation of the kill. But Allen was not fooled. He knew that the Ghoul would wait until he was almost in front of it before making its move. So, he waited, biding his time, until the last possible moment.

'Shadow Step.' With a quick flick of his wrist, Allen disappeared from before the monster and reappeared behind him. The Ghoul was caught off guard, and whirled around, its eyes widening in surprise. It was too late. Allen had already swung his Demonic Claws at the monster, and he landed two critical hits since he attacked from the monster's blind spot.

[Critical Hits!]

[Green Ghoul has taken 241 damage points!] 2X

The creature roared in pain, its body convulsing as it tried to shake off the attack.

The Ghoul turned around, its eyes locked onto Allen, its jaws gaping wide as it prepared to launch its deadly attack.

With a quick flick of her wrist, Larissa summoned the blood around her, transforming it into a sharp and deadly weapon. She hurled the needle blood at the Ghoul, aiming for its most vulnerable spot. The monster hissed in pain, its flesh tearing open as the sharp projectiles struck it with deadly accuracy.

In contrast to Allen, who had higher HP and more agile movements, Larissa had opted for a longer-range fighting style. She knew that she couldn't afford to get too close to the Ghoul, not with its deadly claws and razor-sharp teeth. freew(e)bnovel.com

[Green Ghoul has taken 31 damage points!] 10X

It wasn't fatal but enough to distract the Ghoul's attention from him.

Once again, the Ghoul turned around.

Seizing the opportunity, Allen sprang forward, his Demonic Claw at the ready. He deftly landed three hits to the Ghoul, striking it with deadly precision. The monster roared in pain, its body convulsing as it tried to shake off the attack.

As Allen battled the Ghoul up close, Larissa approached, her eyes fixed on the monster. She knew that she had to use her Blood Manipulation skill to the fullest if she wanted to help Allen bring down the beast. But she also knew that she had to keep her distance.

Summoning the blood around her, Larissa transformed it into a long and deadly whip. She hurled the whip at the Ghoul, the sharp end slicing through the air with deadly accuracy. The monster howled in pain as the whip struck it, tearing through its flesh with ease.

Larissa continued to use her Blood Manipulation skill to great effect, striking the Ghoul with deadly precision from afar. Each strike landed with a sickening thud.

It was a simple tactic, one that they had used since they entered the second floor. By shifting the monster's attention back and forth between them, they were able to defeat it easily without taking any damage. But it required concentration, and they had to pay close attention to their enemy and their team.

This tactic could only be used on slow-speed monsters like the Ghoul. It was not effective against hordes of monsters, meaning that they had to flee in such situations. That was why they didn't venture too far from the entrance portal. They knew that they couldn't afford to take any risks.

As they battled the Ghoul, Allen, and Larissa moved in perfect sync, their movements fluid and graceful. They were like two dancers, each move complementing the others.

With a final, deafening roar, the Ghoul collapsed to the ground, its lifeless body twitching as it succumbed to its injuries. Allen and Larissa stood there, panting heavily, their bodies covered in sweat and blood. It had taken more than a minute of non-stop attacks before the monster finally died, and it had given them a large amount of EXP.

[You received Ghoul's Mouth 1 ea and 5 Coins.]

The drop may have been subpar, but they were able to raise 25% of their EXP bar from just a single monster. It was a significant boost to their leveling progress. However, they knew that the Ghouls were the only slow-moving monsters on the second floor. The other monsters were either moving fast or even disappearing and appearing elsewhere.

Most of these monsters were Shadow Type and had Ghost class, which made them incredibly difficult to deal with. They could move through walls and avoid attacks, making it almost impossible to hit them. It was so annoying.

With a sigh of relief, Larissa turned to Allen and said, "We need to go back now. I need to pee." Her voice was laced with panic, and she shifted from foot to foot, clearly uncomfortable.

Allen nodded and said, "I will open the portal for you."

Allen stretched out his hand and activated his Dark Portal skill. The air around his hand shimmered and crackled with energy as the portal began to materialize. The dark purple vortex swirled and pulsed.

Without hesitation, Larissa hurried towards the portal, eager to relieve herself of her urgent need. She stepped inside and disappeared into the swirling maelstrom.

As she vanished, Allen halted his steps and turned to face the southeast. His eyes narrowed as he scanned the darkness, searching for any signs of danger. And then, he saw it.

Two glowing red orbs seemed to be staring back at him. They belonged to a monster, lurking in the shadows and waiting to attack.

A smirk appeared on his lips once he realized what it was. But he knew he couldn't handle it yet, not at his level.

"I wonder what kind of monster boss is he," he muttered before he stepped inside the portal.
