Villain Ch 275. Battle of Jealousy [Part 2]

Yora's pupils trembled. She shook her head from side to side in denial. "Please no…" she whispered, begging.

Her heart sank as she reluctantly obeyed the emperor's command. She had no choice but to use her skills to bolster his abilities. With a heavy heart, she unleashed her buffs, channeling her Mana into the emperor's body.

"Agility! Holy Blessing! Protection!" Yora used her skills even though she didn't want to.

As the light emanated from Yora's palm, it wrapped around the emperor, enveloping him in a radiant glow. His muscles tensed, and an undeniable surge of power coursed through his veins. He could feel the enhanced agility, the divine blessings boosting his power, and a protective aura surrounding his being.

[Your Agility has increased!]

[Your Strength has increased!]

[Your Defense has increased!]

A series of buff effects appeared in front of the emperor. A wicked grin spread across the emperor's face as he reveled in the newfound strength granted by Yora's buffs. His movements became more fluid, his reflexes sharper, and his defenses impenetrable. He felt invincible, a force to be reckoned with.

Mac and the others watched in disbelief as the emperor's power grew exponentially before their eyes.

Without releasing his grip on Yora, the emperor's eyes blazed with a cruel delight as he unleashed his Telekinesis Blast upon Mac and his team. With a mere flick of his finger, an invisible force surged forward, slamming into their bodies and sending them hurtling through the air.

"Mac!" Yora's cry echoed through the chaotic battlefield. Her heart pounded with worry as she watched her comrades being thrown about like ragdolls. The desire to rush to their aid, to use her healing skills to mend their wounds, burned within her, but she was trapped under the emperor's control, helpless to intervene.

Mac, driven by an unyielding determination, managed to push through the pain and rise to his feet. His grip tightened around his sword, his knuckles turning white as he prepared to face the emperor once more. The resolve in his eyes was unwavering, like a true warrior who was ready to die to save his princess.

Meanwhile, as Greg heard Yora's desperate cries for Mac, a sharp pang of jealousy shot through his heart. Why did she call out Mac's name in her time of distress? Why did it seem like she only had eyes for him? Was it because Mac was the leader of their group, or was there something more between them? The questions swirled in Greg's mind, intensifying the ache in his chest.

The emperor seized the opportunity to taunt Greg. With a sinister smirk, he addressed Yora directly. "Do you love Mac, Lil' kitten?" His voice dripped with venom, his eyes glinting with wicked amusement. "Why do you only call out his name?"

The emperor's words struck deep, hitting a nerve within Greg. The emperor knew the reason behind Yora's actions, and understood the kind of person she was—someone who sought strength and reliability in others. In the past, it had been him who fulfilled that role for her, always there to support and fulfill her desires. And now, in this virtual realm, it was Mac who had assumed that position of strength and dependability.

The truth stung Greg like a thousand needles pricking at his ego. He had always admired Yora from afar, silently hoping to capture her attention. Yet, it seemed that no matter what he did, he could never measure up to the connection she shared with Mac.

"I have no obligation to answer you," Yora retorted, her voice laced with defiance. She refused to let the emperor's taunts get under her skin. She believed her connection with Mac was undeniably strong. She had her reasons for calling out to Mac in that moment of desperation. After all, Mac had been there for her from the beginning, the one who had taken her under his wing and formed a bond of trust and camaraderie.

Amidst the turmoil, Mac's voice cut through the tension. His words held a sense of urgency and determination, rallying the team to action. "Guys, we need to attack him together," he commanded, his voice steady and resolute. He understood that facing the emperor individually would only lead to defeat. They needed to combine their strength and synchronize their assaults to stand a chance.

But unexpectedly, a surge of uncontrollable rage coursed through Greg's veins, overwhelming his senses. A primal scream tore from his lips as he abandoned all reason and charged toward the emperor with a singular focus. His mind was clouded by a mixture of frustration, jealousy, and the burning desire to prove himself.

Mac and the rest of the team watched in shock as Greg broke away from their careful battle formation.

"Greg, what are you doing?!" Gil called out, his voice filled with concern and confusion.

Mac's frustration grew, his voice laced with annoyance. "Greg, we can't win this battle if we're not working together! Snap out of it!"

The words of his teammates, including Mac's commanding voice, fell on deaf ears as Greg continued his relentless assault on the emperor.

His heart pounded in his chest, fueled by a mixture of frustration, jealousy, and the desperate need to stand out. In his mind, if he could save her from the emperor alone, perhaps Yora would finally see him in a different light. His focus was solely on Yora. He believed that if he could display his strength and bravery, she would be compelled to acknowledge him.

Besides… He knew they were helpless in front of the emperor so what was the point of attacking together? Wasn't it better to take the spotlight alone and show that he was the bravest among all? He wanted to make her acknowledge him and no one could stop him!

But the emperor, with his malicious cunning, saw through Greg's reckless display. A sinister grin spread across his face, his amusement evident. He reveled in Greg's misguided attempt to steal the spotlight and prove himself superior.
