Villain Ch 263. Bad Day

Player_Eater roamed around the mandragora field, a popular hunting ground for herbalists. It was an unofficial name given to this particular map, a nod to the abundance of mandragora creatures that populated the area. This was undoubtedly the best place to harvest Mandragora Seeds.

He made his way through the dense foliage, the sound of his footsteps was muffled by the lush grass beneath his feet. The air was filled with the sweet fragrance of the mandragora flowers, their vibrant colors painting a picturesque scene. The map was teeming with life, with mandragoras of all shapes and sizes dotting the landscape.

The trees were not too dense, allowing a soft glow of sunlight to filter through the branches and illuminate the surroundings. The gentle breeze rustled the leaves, creating a soothing melody that accompanied Player_Eater's exploration.

Amidst the scattered trees, numerous bushes concealed mandragoras awaiting their prey. These mischievous creatures were known for their ability to launch surprise attacks on unsuspecting players, their bodies blending seamlessly with the greenery. However, their cunning tactics didn't faze the herbalists who possessed Herbal Detector skills.

With the Herbal Detector in hand, the herbalists had an advantage over the hidden mandragoras. The device emitted a faint glow and emitted a soft hum whenever it detected plant-type monsters or ripe herb plants ready for harvesting. It was a tool that allowed the herbalists to navigate the field with ease and precision, ensuring they could identify and extract the valuable resources they sought.

With a practiced motion, Player_Eater extended his hand towards a nearby mandragora, his eyes focused on the target. A faint glow emanated from his fingertips as he activated the Harvest skill. Unlike offensive skills that dealt damage to monsters, Harvest was a skill specifically designed for gathering resources from creatures without causing harm.

Soft energy enveloped the creature, gently extracting the essence of its being.

Due to his higher level, he possessed the strength and control to use Harvest skill without needing to weaken the monster first. This advantage allowed it to gather resources efficiently and swiftly, bypassing the need for unnecessary battles. As long as he remained outside the Mandragora's attack range, it would be safe from any retaliation.

[Skill success!]

[You got a Mandragora Seed!]

"All right, just five more to go," Player_Eater muttered to himself. He moved away from the mandragora he had just harvested and began scanning the area for another one.

There was a limit to how many seeds a player could harvest from a single mandragora - just one seed per monster. However, the good news was that after an hour, the mandragora would replenish its seeds, and players could harvest them again.

His eyes darted around in search of the next monster to harvest. The task seemed a bit more challenging today as if something had changed since his last visit. He couldn't help but notice the absence of mandragoras in certain areas, their usual hiding spots now empty.

"Man, this is tougher than yesterday," he muttered to himself, his brows furrowed in concentration. With each step he took, he scanned the surroundings, hoping to spot a mandragora amidst the bushes and trees.

Player_Eater's steps came to a halt as his keen eyes caught sight of something twisting amidst the foliage. His instincts told him it could be a mandragora, although it puzzled him why his Herbal Detector didn't pick up its presence. Nevertheless, curiosity and the possibility of a hidden harvest urged him to investigate further.

With a calculated movement, he extended his hand toward the mysterious entity. His fingers trembled slightly with anticipation as he prepared to use his skill. Although he found it strange that he didn't detect it he decided to use his skill on it. He extended his hand at it.

"Harvest!" he used his skill.

But the announcement issued an unusual response.

[Skill failed!]

[Your target isn't a plant type monster!]

Those announcements were accompanied by a female voice.

"Well, well, well, look who decided to come to me," her voice reverberated through the air, dripping with malice and amusement.

Player_Eater's eyes widened with a mix of shock and disbelief as the mysterious twisting form revealed its true nature. The tendrils he had mistaken for a harmless vine were, in fact, tentacles. And at the center of it, all stood the imposing figure of the Kraken queen, Abyssia.

Abyssia's bloody tentacles writhed and squirmed in the air, their slimy appendages snaking around with grotesque elegance. Each tentacle moved with a purpose, twisting and turning in a macabre dance as if it had a mind of its own. The sight was both mesmerizing and horrifying, the dark red hue of the tentacles contrasting sharply against the pale backdrop of the mandragora field.

Shifting downward, a wave of horror washed over him. Two lifeless bodies lay sprawled on the ground beneath Abyssia's form. The gruesome scene was a chilling testament to the Kraken queen's deadly power.

His eyes widened in shock, the gravity of the situation sinking in like a stone in his gut. A long exhale escaped his mouth, carrying with it a mix of fear and resignation. "Oh shit..." he muttered under his breath, unable to believe the predicament he found himself in.

Before he could make another move, before his heart could stop pounding in his chest, Abyssia's tentacles shot out with astonishing speed and precision. Like a deadly dance, they wrapped themselves tightly around Player_Eater's body, ensnaring him in a vice-like grip. He struggled against the suffocating hold, but it was futile – he was at the mercy of the Kraken queen's relentless grasp.

With a savage jerk, Abyssia hoisted Player_Eater into the air, his limbs splayed out in all directions. The pain was excruciating, shooting through every fiber of his being. It was as if every ounce of strength was being siphoned from his body, leaving him weak and helpless.

"Count it as your bad day," Abyssia taunted, her voice dripping with malice and triumph. She reveled in the torment she inflicted upon her prey, delighting in their suffering.

"It is already bad..." Player_Eater managed to reply, his voice strained with agony. He knew that his fate was sealed, that there was little hope of escaping the clutches of the Kraken queen.

"Good! Bye-bye then~" said Abyssia.
