Villain Ch 246. Shameless Player

The worry that gnawed at Allen's core grew rapidly, festering within him like a tangled web of uncertainty. It was impossible for him to ignore the eerie coincidence that the swordsman before him had adopted his previous in-game nickname. The fact that this player wielded a rapier instead of a conventional sword, relying on speed and agility—traits that mirrored Allen's own playstyle—only intensified his unease.

Thoughts raced through Allen's mind as he attempted to rationalize the situation. Maybe, just maybe, this player was a devoted fan who had chosen the same nickname as a form of admiration. Perhaps it was an innocent coincidence, and he bore no ill intentions toward Allen. Clinging to this shred of hope, he tried to dismiss the idea that Godlike was intentionally posing as him.

However, any semblance of optimism that had managed to take root within Allen's heart quickly withered as Godlike seamlessly integrated himself into the company of the other players.

Mastercraft piped up first. "Hey, Godlike! What took you so long? Did you get caught up in another epic battle?" He raised an eyebrow, a playful smirk tugging at the corners of his lips.

Godlike, his expression calm and composed, met Mastercraft's gaze and replied nonchalantly, "Nah, I just finished hunting some orcs. You know how it is, they can be quite tenacious," he said proudly. A hint of nonchalance was clear from his voice as if it was an ordinary matter.

A chuckle escaped Mastercraft's lips as he leaned back in his chair, his eyes gleaming with intrigue. "Solo hunting, huh? Aren't you worried about running into trouble alone?" he asked in a teasing tone.

Godlike's chest puffed up with pride, and a glint of confidence danced in his eyes. "Pfft!" he let out mocking muffled laughter. "Nah, I can handle myself just fine. Besides, it's always a thrill to take on challenges solo."

Father^Alex joined the conversation, interjecting with a grin. "Ah, the lone wolf. We're not surprised. You've always been one to carve your own path."

Red_King, the guild leader, spoke up, his voice carrying a note of admiration. "Well, what can we expect? Godlike is an international pro player. He's always pushing boundaries and setting new standards."

Godlike flashed a humble smile, a glimmer of satisfaction flickering in his eyes. "I appreciate the praise. But you all know we're a team, and each of us plays a vital role in our guild's success."

Red_King leaned back in his chair, a proud smile gracing his lips. "That's true. We've achieved great things together as a guild, and your contributions have always been invaluable."

Godlike nodded, a flicker of gratitude crossing his face. "Thanks. It's an honor to fight alongside all of you."

Mastercraft, unable to resist a cheeky remark, chimed in. "Yeah. And you always manage to steal the spotlight with your epic feats. It's like you have a natural talent for making every battle look effortless."

"Just like Red_King said, you can't expect less from me." Godlike laughed before his gaze shifted towards Mastercraft, curiosity glimmering in his eyes. "Anyway, how's my rapier's progress? Is it finished?"

Mastercraft's expression turned slightly sheepish as he scratched the back of his head. "Ah, not yet. I still need a few more items to finish it. The materials required aren't easy to come by, and they all have to be crafted meticulously."

Godlike nodded understandingly, his tone filled with genuine interest. "I see. Do you need any extra assistance in obtaining those items?"

Mastercraft shook his head, a determined glint in his eyes. "Nah, I'll manage. I enjoy the challenge of gathering and crafting everything myself. It adds a personal touch to the final product."

"Okay."

The conversation then shifted back to the topic of Mastercraft's new fox pet, catching Godlike's attention once more. A mischievous smile played on his lips as he leaned in slightly, his voice laced with playful intent. "You know, Mastercraft, it would be pretty cool if I had a pet fox like yours. It would definitely complement my style."

Mastercraft's eyes widened momentarily, a hint of surprise flickering across his face. He laughed, attempting to deflect the suggestion. "Ah, well, this little guy is quite rare, and I'm not sure if I can part with him. But who knows? Maybe you'll come across your own special pet on one of your adventures."

Godlike's eyes sparkled with mischief as he leaned back, his playful demeanor unwavering. "Haha, fair enough. I'll keep my eyes peeled for a worthy companion then." Then he shifted his gaze to the fox again. "Or maybe I could borrow this guy once in a while," he added.

Allen's eyes narrowed as he observed the interaction between Godlike and Mastercraft. The realization hit him like a bolt of lightning—Godlike was shamelessly attempting to exploit Allen's fame to his advantage. He even asked for a weapon and intended to borrow the rare pet.

A mixture of frustration and indignation welled up inside him, causing a heavy sigh to escape his lips. 'This bastard is surely shameless,' he thought, his mind filled with a surge of annoyance.

Allen clenched his fists, feeling a surge of determination coursing through his veins. He couldn't simply expose Godlike and reveal himself as the real deal. That would create chaos and potentially expose his identity as the devil emperor. No, he needed to find a different approach—a way to deal with this imposter without jeopardizing his own identity.

A devious smirk played on Allen's lips as an idea began to form in his mind. "Well, well," he muttered under his breath. "If he wants to play with fire, then I'll gladly give him a taste of the inferno."

His plan was simple yet calculated. He would expose the fake Godlike for the fraud he was right in front of everyone. Allen would showcase the stark contrast between his true skills and the imposter's feeble attempts to imitate him. It was time to teach this imposter a lesson he wouldn't soon forget.
