Villain Ch 241. Where was His Family During His Darkest Hours?

"In other words, we can consider ourselves lucky then?" Zoe chuckled, her voice filled with amusement as they continued walking through the Quest room. The room was filled with rows of NPCs offering various quests for equipment or side skills. Despite having arrived, the conversation among the group didn't waver. They continued chatting and joking, not even pausing when they reached an NPC standing in front of them.

"Yeah, kinda," Larissa replied, her tone contemplative. "I mean, he's mentioned before that he's never had any real sexual experiences, right?"

"So, he's simply a virgin devilish gentleman?" Jane assumed, raising an eyebrow playfully.

Vivian let out a laugh, her eyes sparkling mischievously. "A hot devilish gentleman," she corrected, her voice filled with both admiration and a hint of frustration. "Let's drop the 'virgin' part. Even though he may be one, he certainly doesn't act like it. When I kissed him in public, he didn't seem embarrassed or nervous at all. In fact, he responded to my kiss with such confidence. It caught me off guard, but I have to admit, it made me feel less awkward about the whole situation."

Jane smirked and shook her head. "You're the one who kissed him, yet you're the one feeling awkward?" she teased, unable to hide her amusement.

Vivian playfully nudged Jane's arm. "Hey, it's not as easy as it sounds, okay? Kissing someone in public takes guts, especially when you're not used to that level of intimacy. But with Allen, it just felt... right, you know?"

"Well, I just wanted to teach his ex a lesson and didn't think much about it after all. I just felt the awkwardness after I returned from the restroom," Vivian added, her voice tinged with a hint of embarrassment. She pouted, remembering the mix of emotions that flooded her after her bold act.

Jane's eyes gleamed with curiosity as she interjected, "You know, there's one thing that makes me really curious about him."

Vivian's eyebrows raised in intrigue. "Oh, do tell. What is it?" she asked, eager to delve into the enigma that surrounded Allen.

"Allen is not a shy person. He is also not na?ve, and he immediately realizes when we have feelings for him. Yet, why did he remain single for two years?" Jane's voice was filled with genuine confusion as she expressed her thoughts. She couldn't wrap her head around the fact that despite Allen's attractive qualities, there didn't seem to be anyone who had captured his heart.

"I'm also thinking the same thing," Zoe chimed in, nodding in agreement with Jane's statement. "I mean, the girls around him aren't blind, are they? There should be one or two who like him."

The group fell into a brief silence, each lost in their own contemplation. They were well aware of his appeal, his devilish charm that seemed to captivate those around him effortlessly. So, why was he still single?

Larissa offered a possible explanation. "Maybe it's because of his trauma. His past experiences might have left a lasting impact on him."

Jane's eyebrows furrowed as she considered Larissa's words. "That makes sense," she admitted, her voice tinged with a mixture of sympathy and curiosity.

"Or maybe it's because of his transformation. You've all seen his photo from two years ago, right?" Vivian chimed in, her voice laced with excitement. She couldn't help but highlight the significant change Allen had undergone since his breakup with Sophia. "He just had his glow-up about a year after they broke up."

The rest of the group looked at each other in surprise, their curiosity piqued. "A year?" they exclaimed in unison, eager to hear more.

Vivian nodded, a knowing smile playing on her lips. "Yeah, we had a long conversation at the restaurant earlier today. He opened up about his journey. It turns out he was a complete mess after the breakup. It took him some time to pick up the pieces and find himself again. But once he did, he made a conscious effort to rebuild his life and become a better person."

The group listened intently, captivated by Vivian's account of Allen's personal growth. It was as if they were unraveling the layers of his character, gaining a deeper understanding of the man behind the charismatic facade.

"He told me that he took that time to focus on himself, both physically and emotionally," Vivian continued, her eyes shining with admiration. "He started hitting the gym regularly, working on his physique, and adopting a healthier lifestyle. And we've all seen the results."

"Also, one more thing that makes me curious," Jane interjected, her brows furrowing in contemplation.

The group turned their attention towards her, eager to hear her question. Vivian, in particular, was intrigued by Jane's insatiable curiosity. "What is it?" she asked, her voice filled with anticipation.

Jane took a moment to gather her thoughts before continuing. "Where was Allen's family when he went through that rough breakup and betrayal? I mean, why was he left to face such a challenging time alone? And why did he decide to move to this city instead of returning to his parent's house?"

The question hung in the air, leaving the group momentarily silent. It was indeed a perplexing mystery. They were aware that Allen had a complete family. His parents were still alive and healthy. So, it seemed odd that he hadn't sought solace in their presence during his darkest hours. Instead, he had chosen to embark on a fresh start in a new city, seemingly unaccompanied by his family or close friends.

Jane's inquiries resonated with the others, stirring a collective sense of intrigue.

Vivian's eyes narrowed with curiosity. "You're right," she mused. "When you think about it, it's rather weird. Why would he uproot his life and start afresh in a place where he didn't have any existing connections or friends?"

Zoe chimed in, her voice filled with wonder. "Yeah, it's not like he had any compelling reasons to move here. He didn't have any job opportunities or specific ties to this city. So, why did he choose to build everything from scratch here?"

The group fell into contemplative silence as they pondered the enigma surrounding Allen's decisions. They knew there had to be a deeper reason behind his choices, one that remained concealed beneath the surface…
