Villain Ch 189. Torment

In the face of the onslaught, Mac's instincts kicked into overdrive. With urgency in his voice, he shouted, "Spread!" His eyes locked onto the swirling mass of lances hurtling toward him with lethal intent.

Reacting swiftly, Player_Eater and Greg followed Mac's command, their bodies veering in opposite directions. The trio dispersed, desperately attempting to minimize the impact of the incoming assault.

The air crackled with anticipation as the lances soared through the battlefield. Mac's heart raced, and his mind focused on evading the deadly projectiles. He darted left and right, his nimble movements mirroring the instincts of a seasoned warrior. However, the sheer number of lances proved overwhelming, as they rained down upon the ground around him.

Player_Eater and Greg, too, fought tooth and nail to avoid the piercing assault. They zigzagged and weaved, their bodies contorting in a desperate dance of survival. Yet, despite their valiant efforts, the merciless lances found their mark.

A chorus of grunts and cries filled the air as the lances grazed their flesh, leaving shallow gashes in their wake. Some of the lances managed to pierce through their armor, inflicting deeper wounds that were seared with pain. The impact sent shockwaves through their bodies, causing them to stumble and fall to the unforgiving ground.

Agony coursed through their veins, threatening to overpower their resolve. Blood trickled from their wounds, staining the earth beneath them. With each gasping breath, the weight of their injuries bore down upon them, making even the simplest movements an arduous task.

The devil emperor's wicked grin widened, his sadistic delight palpable in the air. He reveled in the suffering and struggle before him, relishing every ounce of pain inflicted upon Mac, Greg, and Player_Eater. But the torment he had unleashed was far from over. His icy gaze shifted to the frail figure of Yora, held captive within his sinister grip.

A cruel smirk danced upon his lips as he spoke, his voice dripping with malevolence. "You should heal yourself, Lil Kitten," he taunted, his words laced with a chilling command.

Yora's eyes met the emperor's, a glimmer of defiance shining amidst her pain. Her voice, barely above a whisper, carried a resolve that belied her weakened state. "No," she declared, her words resolute. She understood all too well that the emperor's offer to heal was a mere ploy, a twisted game designed to prolong her suffering and manipulate her comrades. She refused to be a pawn in his sadistic machinations.

"Just kill me..." Her voice, though soft, carried an unwavering determination. Fear coursed through her veins, yes, but she refused to surrender her will. She knew that death within the game was not the end, but a temporary setback. Yora's true concern lay with her comrades, their morale, and their unyielding spirit. She could not bear the thought of being used as a weapon against them.

The devil emperor's displeasure etched across his face, his frown deepening. "You don't know what your foolish decision's consequences are," he hissed with disdain, his voice laced with venomous frustration.

However, his attention was abruptly diverted as he sensed movement from behind him. His instincts honed by countless battles kicked in, and he deduced that a dual-dagger user was attempting to execute a swift and deadly Backstab skill.

Reacting with lightning speed, the emperor unfurled his powerful wings, lifting himself and Yora into the sky. With a swift motion, he spun around, facing his assailant head-on. In one fluid motion, he hurled his Demonic Orbs toward the incoming attacker.

The orbs, carefully calibrated to a lower level to mitigate the cooldown time, streaked through the air, hurtling toward their target. As they neared their mark, the assailant's identity became clear—Gil.

The orbs exploded upon impact, unleashing a burst of dark energy that engulfed the area. Gil, caught in the midst of the explosion, was thrown backward, his body battered by the force of the attack. He crashed to the ground, his daggers clattering beside him.

Didn't stop there, the emperor's eyes darted around, searching for a specific target. And there, not too far away, he spotted his desired prey—a fellow healer.

Without hesitation, he closed the distance, his demonic claw gleaming ominously. With a swift and deadly strike, he silenced the mage who stood by the healer's side, his life extinguished in an instant. Gripping the male healer by the throat, the emperor turned his gaze upon him, a chilling stare filled with menace.

"Heal her," he commanded in a matter-of-fact tone, his voice carrying the weight of his authority.

Confusion and fear flickered across the healer's face as he tried to comprehend the situation unfolding before him. His eyes darted between the emperor and the wounded Yora, struggling to grasp the reasoning behind the game's main villain demanding healing for another player.

Yora mustered the strength to shake her head, her voice barely above a whisper as she pleaded, "No, please... Don't listen to him."

Ignoring her plea, the emperor tightened his grip on the male healer's throat, forcing him closer to his menacing presence. His voice dripped with intimidation as he repeated his demand, his words carrying a tangible threat.

"I said, heal her!"

The male healer trembled, his eyes flickering with a mixture of fear and desperation. He was torn between his own survival and her request. Reluctantly, he extended his trembling hands toward Yora.

"Heal." The healing magic enveloped Yora, a gentle glow emanated from her body, soothing her wounds and alleviating her pain. The warmth of the healing energy surged through her, revitalizing her weary form. Her HP gradually increased, and the bleeding ceased. Though her health was not fully restored, the healing was enough to grant her a fighting chance.

A sinister smile curled upon the emperor's lips, his eyes gleaming with sadistic satisfaction. He tossed the male healer's lifeless body aside with a callous disregard and ended it with his Demonic Lances, his fate sealed for daring to question the emperor's command. The healer's lifeless form crumpled to the ground, a chilling testament to the emperor's unforgiving wrath.

Yora's eyes widened in horror as she witnessed the merciless execution of the male healer. Her heart raced, fear gripping her entire being. She was now left alone, cornered by the embodiment of darkness.

The emperor turned his attention back to Yora, his gaze fixated upon her with an eerie intensity. His voice dripped with malice as he addressed her, his words laced with a twisted amusement.

"Let's continue our game, Lil Kitten," he taunted, relishing in the terror that danced in Yora's eyes.
