Chapter 702 – Effects of Levels and Cultivation Base Growth

Mid Lane

Without Xiang Yu, both Miaomiao and Marcus slaughtered minions from Heavenly Dao's side and contested for the intersection bridge.

Both men leveled up to two and unlocked new abilities. They sensed that their cultivation level jumped from muscle tempering stage to bone refining stage.

However, Miaomiao had the edge as he had killed Xiang Yu with the turret's assistance. Now, his EXP bar was close to level 3.

Confident in his weaponry and advantage, Miaomiao pushed harder. He sliced a golem warrior's core, and his level reached 3. His cultivation base was upgraded to the meridian establishment stage.

Miaomiao began to sense a pattern. At this rate, he might unlock the cultivation base of a nascent soul at level 7 or so.

With additional strength, Miaomiao stopped farming and slipped through the wall of minions. He chased after Marcus.

The gladiator was surprised that Miaomiao wanted to all-in this early. He raised his shield, not showing an opening to Miaomiao.

At that moment, Miaomiao sneered.

At this level, Miaomiao recalled the time he fought Xie Tian in a life-and-death battle. Compared to this player, Xie Tian was a hundred times faster and trickier.

Facing a simple enemy that could only defend himself, Miaomiao was disappointed.

"Big mistake, noob!"

He touched the shield. Then, he circulated Life Essence.

Energy Drain!

It was the old skill that was replaced by Vampiric Touch. However, Miaomiao could still remember how to use it.

Suddenly, Marcus sensed that his strength left him, yet he couldn't let go of his shield. His arm and hand got glued to it!

Miaomiao's strength and stamina recovered to the full. He let go of his hand and kicked the shield.

Marcus fumbled and sat on his butt. When he looked up again, a katana was swung down.

SWUA

The player's head rolled on the ground, and the game system sent out an announcement.

<Enemy has been slain!>

Miaomiao shrugged and turned toward the remaining minions. He gathered Life Essence and fired a dozen energy bullets at all surrounding golems and robots.

Once everything went down, the swordswomen and their followers expressionlessly rushed toward the towers of the opposite faction.

Miaomiao looked at them and shook his head.

"I know they're bots, but what a waste."

Killer Queen scoffed, 'You just want to fuck all the women.'

"Sexy women deserve love from a healthy man like me."

'More like you want to impregnate them all.'

"Maybe."

'Don't you have any shame? You just vowed that you won't have sex ever again after Mir died, but now, you're a horn dog again!'

"I'm preparing a new body for Mir to reincarnate."

'Yeah, right.'

While bickering with his katana, Miaomiao tossed an invisible ward in a bush, which was located in the shallow river next to the bridge. He returned to his turret and used an item, which was attached to his waist.

WHOOSH

Miaomiao teleported back to his base as if it was a normal thing to do. He glanced at his inventory, checking how much gold he had.

909 gold coins sat there in his inventory.

Every second, one or two gold coins were added to every fighter. While Miaomiao was looking at his asset, his gold coins increased to 911.

"I didn't even need to use potions. I guess I overestimated them."

Miaomiao went to the shop and purchased a pair of greaves and a strange lens. Then, he went back to the lane.

The items that Miaomiao had purchased were automatically equipped on him. Instead of wearing leather shoes, he now ran with a set of metallic greaves.

Despite the greaves' heaviness, Miaomiao's sprinting speed got faster. Even his hands and fingers seemed to be more agile.

Generally in MOBA games, boots, shoes, and greaves always increased a champion's movement speed. They could also increase attack speed, attack power, defense, or critical chance.

Miaomiao's greaves were the type that increased his movement speed and attack speed. He bought it to add movement speed so that he could have an edge over Marcus and Xiang Yu when they fought again.

Meanwhile, the fountain of the Player Faction was in chaos as two of their representatives already died.

Hiiro's eyes were bloodshot. He stared at the respawned players and clicked his tongue.

His reaction was slower than the others. Two players on the hook instantly volunteered to be sacrificed, and they vanished from the game world.

Marcus and Ke Lin Ji were resurrected. They gasped and touched their neck, testing if they were still alive.

The death experience was different than the other games. The pain was so real that both of them could still feel the pain.

Marcus regained his stamina and energy. He gritted his teeth and rushed out, not wanting to fall behind.

On the other hand, Ke Lin Ji fiddled with his game menu. He sent text messages to his teammates.

"My lane needs help! They are sending two people on me! Blowmaster, you come and support me instead of bullying that noob!"

Ke Lin Ji could see that Blowmaster and her gunslinger friend managed to suppress Xie Tian to the latter's tower. As their opponent only sent one fighter to contest that lane, Ke Lin Ji believed that the Blowmaster should swap lanes and help him instead.

A second later, the woman texted back.

"Fine. I'll TP after I push another wave to the tower."

Ke Lin Ji was relieved. He then sprinted back to his lane, hoping that his kill count wouldn't fall behind.

After both of the players had left, Hiiro let out a sigh. Judging from the previous plays by Miaomiao and the representatives from Heavenly Dao Universe, the Player Faction faltered by miles.

At this rate, their side would be wiped out soon.

'What will happen if I volunteered, and our side loses the game in the end?' Hiiro thought.

<You get to survive without remembering anything and lose a body part. As for the idiot here, they all die, munya!>

Hiiro was relieved. He appreciated that Mu-Nyang was kind enough to answer his doubts.

'What about my assets and my NFT character in-game? Will I lose it after I sacrifice myself?'

<Those things depend on Pangu, munya. If he's that kind, he might leave them behind. But hey, you will have to rejoin the game to claim your belongings if that's the case, munya!>

In short, Hiiro would end up forgetting everything in the beta test, and he had to be lucky enough to rejoin the game afterward with all important organs.

It would have been a disaster had Mu-Nyang accidentally claimed Hiiro's eyes or a limb as a price of resurrection! Hiiro wouldn't be able to play the game like that!

Hiiro had goosebumps as he thought of the worst-case scenario, where he lost his eyesight. Now, he hesitated if sacrificing himself for the others was a good idea.

'Say, instead of sacrificing myself, can I replace those players?'

<Hohou? You wanna play the game, munya?>

'I don't want to lose my limb to those idiots.'

<Then, that makes things simple, munya! First off, you will have to swear allegiance to->

<HOLD IT RIGHT THERE, DAMN CAT!>

Before Mu-Nyang could finish his sentence, Pangu intervened and shut down all system messages.

Hiiro could no longer see or hear the feedback from Mu-Nyang or Pangu. He could only observe the game from a distance.

West Lane

Xie Tian held his ground against two players. The gunslinger kept firing at him while the mage girl took down all his faction's minions again.

That was the second wave of minions that the player's team took down. Now, the group of golems and robots began sieging his turret.

While being next to the turret, Xie Tian patiently killed golems and robots before the tower could kill them. But when Xie Tian looked up, the two players were gone.

Xie Tian let out a sigh, but Ma Moxi warned him.

'Have you learned how to ping yet?'

"What ping?" Xie Tian was still new to the game even though he had learned a few things from Miaomiao's memory.

'Go to the game menu's mini-map. Then, pick a place and press it.'

"Like this?" Xie Tian still didn't understand the game's mechanics.

DING

As soon as Xie Tian pressed on the mini-map, a question mark appeared.

'There are three main pings in the game. When you don't see your opponents in your lane, always send question mark pings at your lane so that everybody else can be cautious of their roaming. But if you notice in the mini-map that your teammates are doing poorly or are about to go too deep into the enemy's terrain, you send pings with an exclamation symbol to warn them. Or, if you want to ask for help, ping the map with a flag, and everybody can see that you're requesting help.'

Xie Tian nodded as everything sounded simple.

"Where are you now?"

'Look at the mini-map. I'm grinding monsters in the jungle.'

"I see."

Xie Tian had many questions, but Miaomiao's memory already answered all of them.

Now that Xie Tian learned how to use a game feature, he rushed out to kill more minions.

'Oh, Xie Tian. I almost forgot.'

"What is it?"

'Don't forget to use the item on your waist. You can teleport back to the base when you're running out of Qi or injured. The fountain heals you to full health, and you need to come back and purchase gears to get stronger.'

"But I have a myth-grade saber…"

'You saber doesn't mean shit in this MOBA game. Sure, it can cut through ordinary weapons like butter. But if your opponent manages to complete six items before you, your myth-grade saber will be useless against them. REMEMBER MY WORDS, ALWAYS TELEPORT BACK TO BASE WHEN YOU HAVE A LOT OF GOLD COINS OR WHENEVER YOU HAVE A CHANCE!'

"… Alright."

Xie Tian could hear a long sigh of Ma Moxi. It seemed that the latter was mentally exhausted from coaching him.

Mid Lane

Miaomiao stood at the center of the intersection, staring at Xiang Yu and Marcus, who had been resurrected.

Both men managed to reach level 3 with difficulty, but Miaomiao was now level 4.

The strength difference between an essence gathering stage and a meridian establishment stage was huge. Moreover, their foundation played a big role in this game.

When Xiang Yu was a meridian establishment cultivator, he could barely store a few drops of Life Essence in his dantian. Meanwhile, Miaomiao now used elemental Qi to fight with them.

Xiang Yu started to see a template here.

"So, this game is a race to get a better gear and level than your opponent."

Miaomiao overheard it. He raised his eyebrows, "I guess the gods are smart. I envy you."

"Envy me? For what? You have a monstrous foundation when you're a mortal! How the hell did you manage to consolidate elemental Qi at the 4th-stage!?"

"Don't ask me. Ask my mom."

"Your mom? Who?"

"Devil."

"… I thought he was a man."

"He's a she now."

"…"

"And she's also my wife."

"Mao Miaomiao. You sick fuck."

While both men were chatting, Marcus' expression turned dark.

He was impressed how cultured Miaomiao was.

'This fucking NPC banged his mother? What a chad!'
