Chapter 653 – Miaomiao VS Sin of Gluttony
Looking at the ashes of Xie Tian's clone, Miaomiao felt like he had lifted a mountain off his chest.
It was satisfying to defeat the nasty final form of the Time God without the help of others, except Killer Queen. Miaomiao imprinted the helpless expression of the clone into his mind and removed one of the haunting dreams from his heart.
The sense of achievement cleansed the PTSD away like magic.
As Miaomiao was bathing in his glory and satisfaction, the herb plane vanished, leaving only a giant fire orb.
The fire orb was pulled toward the Jade Gate and got inserted into one of the seven sockets.

Once the orb fit into the socket, a wisp of red dust flowed from the gate and entered Miaomiao's orifices. They merged with his body and soul dantian.
Unfortunately, no system notification showed to tell Miaomiao what they were. He could only vaguely sense that the pending urge to torture, kill, or torment someone was under his control. Still, Miaomiao carried an unprecedented amount of anger and hatred toward Heaven Chosen's geniuses, protagonists, antagonists, and sages.
The conflict between the surging anger and calmness gave birth to the fusion energy, generating Connate Qi for Miaomiao.
For the first time, a strand of Connate Qi, which was purer and stronger than Providence Qi, moved freely inside Miaomiao's dantian universe without causing harm.
However, the connate Qi that belonged to Xu Chu, Xie Tian, and other deities in his dantian was still sealed as Miaomiao's Connate Qi was not completed yet.

It was too strange! In the beginning, everybody thought that Miaomiao only needed to fight seven gate guardians. But now, he was forced to take on an army!
As the group was perplexed by the changes, the eye explained why it happened.
"Although you brainwashed and enslaved Ma Moxi to become your ally, Ma Moxi was never docile. He sought and desired a way to get stronger quickly. He made pills, spiritual drinks, and strange food for his subordinates to get stronger. At the same time, he experimented to get something edible to increase his combat strength. Then, you suddenly gave him a divine pill, which triggered his hidden desire."
Miaomiao stared blankly at Ma Moxi's clone. He was still confused about how this former assassin became an embodiment of a deadly sin.
'What the hell did you do, Ma Moxi?! I tried to be nice to you, but how the hell did you harbor a deadly sin?'
While Miaomiao was trying to figure out the answer, the eye revealed it.
"Ma Moxi became a drug-addicted. He wanted more divine-grade pills for himself and his friends. While you were not looking at him, he extensively researched for a better pill recipe to the point that he became a grandmaster alchemist. Not only did he desire to eat every divine pill that he made, but he also forced his subordinates to become guinea pigs for his new pills. Thus, he indulged himself in one of the Great Sins and has become the embodiment of Gluttony."
"Excuse me?"
Miaomiao's expression turned into confused Jacky Chan.
The last time he saw Ma Moxi, that guy was fine. Even Ma Ping and Ma Shoucheng seemed normal.

A new hologram of events appeared in front of Miaomiao. This time, the eye showed the time when Miaomiao gave him the Azure Dragon Divine Pill.
Nothing was strange as the conversation was warm and friendly.
But the scenes changed. It showed a colossus pagoda on a cloud, which no one had seen before. However, Ma Moxi's smoke-like body appeared there and stood inside the pagoda building.
In front of Ma Moxi was a large alchemy cauldron. He opened his mouth and spat a light orb into the container.

The cauldron shook and released white smoke. Then, Ma Moxi smirked.
"I want more pills like these. Give me recipes of every divine pill under Heavenly Dao, Hongjun Pagoda! I want to eat more pills like this!"
The cauldron flashed. Several system screens appeared around Ma Moxi, showing the ingredients of divine pills. They even include a system shop, in which Ma Moxi could exchange essence cores into system points and exchange them into pill ingredients.
Ma Moxi burst into laughter. He transferred essence cores that Miaomiao had given to his clan into his pagoda system and purchased various ingredients.
As he put the newly acquired ingredients into the cauldron, a dozen pills shot out instantly.
They were all divine-grade pills!
Ma Moxi stored the rest of them right away.
"I need at least 1,000 divine pills for my family and friends. But I need a million pills for myself! Hongjun Pagoda, recommend me what pills I should eat in order to become a deity!"
At this point, the hologram vanished.
Miaomiao narrowed his eyes. He turned and looked at Mu-Nyang.
"Why is Hongjun's name mentioned here?"
Mu-Nyang cackled and revealed the truth, "Tilted Hongjun is actually a clone of Great Dao Sage Hongjun, munya. From the very beginning, Hongjun planned to raise Ma Moxi as his backup disciple to replace the sages in a time of crisis. But you and Devil messed up his plan, munya!"

The clone of Ma Moxi bitterly smiled at Miaomiao and added.
"I've just learned the truth recently, Miaomiao. My original body has already become a deity, and Hongjun has already shown him what you and Devil did. And oh, boy. He's pissed that you stole so many of his fated wives."
The clone looked at his comrade behind him. "He would have scored Mao Xueyan, Mao Dandan, Zhao Yun, and Ma Xingjuan had you never existed."

"True. But hey. You knew that they were his fated wives when you met them, didn't you."

"Now, you're behaving more like a villain these days," The clone sighed.
Miaomiao wryly smiled. He was puzzled why the clone gossiped about his original self like it was none of his business. Moreover, the clone didn't seem to hate Miaomiao.
"Are you really his clone or what? Why do I feel like you don't give a damn about what we're about to do?"
The clone snickered, "Because you and I in this timeline have no grudge against each other."
"But you said that Ma Moxi is pissed."
"Indeed, he's pissed."
"But no grudge?"
"He's angry, but that doesn't mean he wants to kill you. It's just friendly anger."
"… He's a nice guy, isn't he?"
"Indeed."

The atmosphere became awkward as the clone and Miaomiao didn't hate each other.
As Miaomiao got enough clues from the clone, he decided to be frank.
"Serious question, which timeline are you from? I'm sure you're not just a copy of Ma Moxi's memory or consciousness."
The clone laughed, "So you've found out."
"You have been talking about Ma Moxi like he was somebody else. It's obvious that you didn't think of him as yourself. Heck, I don't think you're related to him."
The clone's laughter got louder. He looked back at his comrades and the gate.
"I have a confession. Indeed, I'm not the clone of Ma Moxi from this timeline."
"Figured. But why did you come out from Dion?"
The clone snapped his finger, and his comrades brought out their armaments. Guns, rifles, cannons, tanks, and APCs came out of nowhere.
"We are the remnant memory of the other destroyed timeline," the clone looked up and admired the endless void, "We failed to fulfill Hongjun's desire, and he removed us. But Dion recovered the erased memory of everybody here and recreated us as Ma Moxi's clone and subordinates… to give you a push."
The clone and his subordinates also brought out rainbow pills and ate them. Then, their physique and aura suddenly changed.
ROAR
The howl of lions, tigers, wolves, bears, and vile beasts erupted. The modern weaponry in their hands also shone in silver light. They summoned their Dao Souls in the form of modern weapons.
Dong Bai hopped into a tank. Pao Luo created a million fluffy beasts and a million shining AK-47s. Mao Dandan's clone transformed into a massive white tiger with a living Yamato-Class battleship on her back. Zhao Yun's clone entered a SU-57's cockpit while several crews mounted two missiles under the wings. Mao Xueyan's clone armed herself with the Ironman's suit while Ku'er shapeshifted into a 20-story tall 9-tail fox.
Ma Moxi's clone summoned a lightsaber and leisurely approached Miaomiao.
"I have to give you a warning. I'm different from this timeline's Ma Moxi. I'll use every skill that we learned from the other timelines, and we won't show you any mercy."
Miaomiao smirked, "If you think your little army can get through my fortress, go ahead."
"Sure. I'll crack that elusive fortress of yours," the clone pointed his lightsaber at Miaomiao and ordered his soldiers. "Fire at will!"
Tanks, APCs, and countless guns spat fire! Mao Xueyan laser beams from her palms while Ku'er opened her mouth and spat an incendiary bomb at Miaomiao. A thousand shadows aimed their javelins at the target and unleashed a thousand anti-tank missiles! A million AK-47s sprayed yellowish needle-like lights upon Miaomiao! The battleship on Mao Dandan's back pointed her 18-inch cannons and aimed at Miaomiao and fired her cannons!
The concentrated rain of bullets and shells directly hit Miaomiao!

The courtyard erupted in countless explosions. Black smoke and dust shrouded everything on the plane.
That was not all. Zhao Yun's clone piloted the jet to the sky and fired an armed missile at the center of the smoke.
Ma Moxi immediately created a providence domain and covered his allies under the blue dome.

A massive explosion destroyed the entire Xuan City and sent the mushroom cloud to the sky. The nuke's shockwave uprooted trees and blasted the stone walls into pieces of rocks.
The crew of Ma Moxi's clone stopped firing. They reloaded their guns and cannons while crews from the Zhao Yun team carried more missiles to rearm the jet in mid-flight.
They stared at the center of the explosion, waiting to see the result of their first strike.
A few seconds later, Ma Moxi wryly smiled.

The shadow silhouette of an angel and a katana slowly walked out of the smoke.
The silhouette deeply exhaled.

With just a breath, the entire smoke, fire, radiation, and dust were dispersed.
Miaomiao frowned at Ma Moxi, "You nuked me? Really? You think nukes are effective against a physique cultivator?"
Ma Moxi laughed, "It doesn't hurt to try."
"If your providence domain can block the nuke, obviously, I can do it, too! Why are you so stupid?"
"Now, I'm angry, Miaomiao. Don't call me stupid."
Ma Moxi laughed. He brought out another handful of myth-grade pills and chew them like snacks.

The aura of Ma Moxi changed. The massive pagoda that was shown in the hologram appeared as a Dao Avatar behind him, and his presence and breathing became similar to a sage!
The shadows of the crew behind Ma Moxi transformed into light balls and merged with the tower. Then, the pagoda tower absorbed Connate Qi from Ma Moxi and released the dominating presence of Tilted Hongjun.
A clone of Tilted Hongjun appeared, and the tower disappeared into him!
Ma Moxi glanced at the clone of Tilted Hongjun and grinned, "My subordinates won't stand a chance against you, so don't mind me if I call my senior to help. You understand that masters, mentors, mysterious seniors, and backers are a part of a protagonist's strength, right?"
