Jake couldn't move away from Lana and the other priests since they needed to see him to be able to use their healing magic. So, he waited patiently until three of the monsters tried to stab him, but then Jake's shield blocked the attack, and while they were dealing with the shock, Jake swung his katana and cut their throats. He didn't use any skill, but Jake noticed that his attack cut quite deeply. Thanks to that, he confirmed that Lana wasn't the only one who had used some buffs on him.

While that was good and all, Jake saw even more enemies surrounding him. Blocking all their attacks or hitting them before he suffered a lot of damage was impossible, so Jake used his dark flames to attack the heads of some Reptilians. Behind him, the healers wouldn't notice a thing, and as for the others, they couldn't even see Jake since he was behind the sea of monsters.

His small dark flame arrow easily killed three Reptilians when they entered his range. Still, several others surrounded him and thrust their spears. Jake had to rely on a cyclone strike to repel their weapons, and that worked splendidly… Those monsters staggered for a moment, and Jake used that chance to dash toward some of them and cut their faces.

Thanks to that, the Reptilians noticed that approaching Jake even when the numbers were so much in their favor was too risky… so they pointed their spears toward him and fired numerous Water Balls. Hiding behind his shield, Jake blocked most of the projectiles, but several of them still hit his legs. One or two didn't cause much pain, but the damage started to build up when he got hit for the tenth time.

Lana and the other healers were using their spells, but they could only do so much when dozens of enemies were attacking Jake at the same time. In the end, they even tried to use Barrier, but that didn't change things. Lana threw some potions at Jake without any other choice, and those healed him, but it didn't solve the problem…

Fortunately, the number of attacks began to decrease when things started to get noisy around the Reptilians. When Jake had the chance to see what was happening, he saw a Fire Tornado and a rain of arrows killing many Reptilians with each passing second.

The pincer attack had been a success still. Jake couldn't help but wonder where they were drawing so much mana from to be able to use so many powerful areas of effects spells… Nevertheless, Jake couldn't let that chance go. He dashed toward the enemies to raise some havoc as well.

Amidst the chaos, the Reptilians barely had the chance to see Jake approaching. So, they began to fall by his sword pretty fast and without Resistance. When the nearby ones noticed that something was amiss when a corpse dropped near them, it was too late as well since Jake had attacked everyone nearby.

Thanks to the junction of two very offensive parties, the five hundred or so Reptilians didn't last for long. A couple of minutes had been enough to defeat them all.

Once the last enemy fell, both parties began to celebrate. Aside from Jake, no one suffered any damage, after all. Still, instead of celebrating, Jake looked around for the loot left by the monsters. In the end, Jake only found copies of the ones they already had or had.

"Let's set a camp in front of the dungeon and divide ourselves in groups of three to kill the monsters that will eventually leave," Clark said. "By the way, you guys can use the dungeon shop if you want."

"Dungeon shop?" Jake frowned.

"It is what it sounds, you can access a shop through the dungeons," Clark explained. "You can buy potions, items, armor, weapons… but the quality and quantity of items is quite for those who cleared zero or not a single dungeon. Still, for newbies like us, visiting dungeon shops regularly is something that we should do to obtain power."

"Can we sell items there as well?" Jake asked.

"No, but I heard that there is someone who can do that," Clark crossed his arms and then said it. "Apparently, you need a special skill to do that."

Jake, Lana, and Louise went to check the dungeon shop, and just like Clark said, they could access it by touching the entrance of the dungeon. Speaking of which, that dungeon was really weird. While an underground dungeon wasn't something unusual at that point in time, the fact that it had a circular staircase was. Regardless, they could check the interior later.

Just like Clark said, the variety wasn't great, but Jake found some items worth buying. For himself, Jake found some armor that would grant him several types of elemental resistances. For Lana, he found some wands that would grant her lesser elemental Enchantments, and for Louise, some magic staves that will grant her area of effect spell-like minor versions of Fire Tornado.

"Interesting…" Jake rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

Buying each armor will grant Jake all the resistances he still didn't have, with the exception of negative ones like freezing and gravity. Now that he had the magic box, he didn't have to worry about his luggage, so it was fine he bought all of them.

"It would be great if we could visit this place again to grind for coins and buy items to master them," Lana said.

"Actually, you can," Clark said. "Once you clear a mission, you are free to return to that place using the crystal server. Without that, dungeon breaks would happen all too often."

That was good to know, but Jake still was worried since it would be the same as teleporting from one planet to the other without having to pay anything in exchange. As far as Jake was aware, free meals don't exist.
