"This was too easy…" Jake said as he blocked the arrows fired by the enemies. "As I thought, boss fights are more fun since human targets have too many weak points that are easy to target."
Although Jake was talking as if there were no problems there, he still was in front of a massive army of monsters. If Justin's friends make the monsters attack, he will have a lot of work to defeat them… However, Justin's friends were as stupid as him. Four of them stepped forward to face Jake while the healer was taking care of Justin.
Jake wondered what he should do, considering that the four enemies in front of him assumed a formation where the swordsman was in the front, and the two archers were slightly behind and on the sides. Meanwhile, the mage was behind the swordsman. Whatever happens, it seems that Jake had to take care of the second armored guy first, but that would take too long…
Jake still had half of his man, so he was sure that he could take down one of the archers with Mana Blades alone. However, that was a bit risky… still, he couldn't let that opportunity go. He had to make those idiots face a game over, then he would have an easier time completing the mission.
Jake threw behind him his scabbard and then equipped the kite shield. A katana and that shield formed a pretty weird combination. Still, those were powerful enough to make Jake have a chance of winning, even by himself and against four.
As one would expect, the armored guy was the first one to charge toward Jake, and while he was equipped in the same way as Justin, his equipment seemed a bit cheaper. His fighting style also seemed different. Even though he got close enough, he didn't brandish his spear. Instead of that, he tried to crush Jake while keeping his guard completely closed.
Jake used his own shield to block the charge, but he still was pushed backward several meters, and then when he swung his katana to attack the eyes of the enemy, the archers bombarded him with flame arrows. Jake swung his katana and blocked one, but the other hit his left side since the shield was being used to stop the swordsman's charge. Jake clicked his tongue when he saw his health decreasing by thirty points.
Jake pointed his katana toward the swordsman, but he raised his shield to protect his face. Thanks to that, Jake had the chance to move his body, but instead of gaining distance of attacking the archers, Jake used a Shield smash and forced the enemy to take a few steps back. In that moment, the archers fired again, and Jake used that chance to fire Two Mana Blades as well.
Two landed on the neck of the female archer before she could do anything. The wound in her heart was so serious that she only stayed logged in for a few seconds after the hit. The pain had been so unnerving that the archer took off the helmet.
The remaining archer got nervous, but the mage stepped forward and then attacked with Ice Punches. Jake used his sword to block them, but another fire arrow hit him and caused more damage. When Jake moved his body to attack, the enemies stepped back. They then disappeared behind the defense wall given by the swordsman, and when Jake focused on him again, they reappeared to attack…
"Annoying assholes…" Jake muttered in pain due to the damage.
The swordsman attacked again, sealing Jake's left arm. Jake tried to step back and then jump to the side and then make the enemy lose their balance, but that didn't work. The tall swordsman never gave Jake the chance to do so. He kept charging at him again and again.
Jake clenched his teeth in annoyance since he saw the enemies preparing to fire the next attack. Those would cause a lot of damage. Still, much to his surprise, Jake noticed his health being healed, and then a Poison Bullet was fired toward the mage. The poor guy got hit in the face, so he began to tremble all over, and when the effect disappeared, the guy began to lose health at a fearsome speed. He went to ask the priest for some healing, but he suffered a game over…
The other members of Justin's party panicked when they noticed that Lana and Louise were back. So, they slowly began to retreat, but Jake dashed toward them, and Louise used Ice Arrow to slow down one.
The archer got hit in the back and then froze for a second, and Jake finished him with a single thrust aimed at his heart, passing through his back.
Now Jake has had to worry about the handless Justin, the priest, and the remaining guy. Jake killed the third one when he used Throw alongside Justin's spear. The weapon pierced the back of the second swordsman.
Justin decided to shout and give the kobolds the order to retreat, but then he stopped at the last minute when he saw Jake with his katana looking at him with cold eyes. If he tries anything, Jake will make sure to cut off the other parts of his body. Justin only had two options, log off by himself and then lose everything by failing in the mission. The second option was a bit different. Justin could try to fight and suffer even more than before.
