The number of the corpses of kobolds was piling up pretty fast. However, Jake could see some orcs falling here and there as well. He wasn't healed a single time, so Lana was focusing on them. That being said, she could only do so much.

At some point, Jake noticed some noise coming from the sides of the battlefield. He saw the orcs making a pincer attack when he looked in those directions. Jake thought they didn't have enough numbers to divine their forces that much, but it seemed Louise managed to pull that off.

As if that wasn't enough, coming from the village, Jake noticed some orcs coming armed with crossbows and firing them toward the enemies. That was pretty nice, using the enemies' weapons against them. Nevertheless, the Kobolds realized that they weren't losing… they were being massacred at that point in time. Some orcs, despite being covered in blood, weren't dying. It was thanks to Lana.

Even the Kobolds realized that they had to regroup, but Louise imagined that such a thing would happen, and that was one of the reasons she used the pincer attack, to prevent as many enemies as possible from escaping. When they tried to run away, Jake didn't try to pursue them. Since he knew the war was far from over, Jake just picked some crossbows lying around and hit the enemies' backs. Killing some and knocking down others. It was pretty nice to attack from a distance so fast.

Around 360 kobolds were killed, and forty orcs died in the battle. Jake thought that he would have to do half of everything to achieve victory, but he barely had the chance to kill one hundred enemies.

"As expected of the legendary heroes… to think that we would win in such absolute way," Grommok said.

"Where we should head next?" Jake asked while he was gathering some loot from the battlefield. "We can't give the enemy the chance to decimate the other villages. We have to head to the next battlefield with all the survivors that still can fight."

Carrying all those would be a pain, but Jake was determined to master those weapons. The girls also found some drops that increased their mana, but they looked a bit troubled since they were taking those away from so many corpses.

"Right…" Grommok said and then pointed to some orcs to organize the troops. "We will depart to join the other battlefields immediately."

Jake wondered if they should wait for them. While the battle didn't last long, some orcs lost a lot of stamina. Still, their high morale after winning after such a long time probably will help. In the end, the soldiers were organized in a couple of minutes, and the whole group quickly departed to the next battlefield.

Although they had to run for a couple of minutes, they still found the next village already being attacked by an army of kobolds. Several houses were on fire, and some orcs were abandoning their homes while the remaining soldiers were trying to buy time.

"Focus on leading them this time, Jake," Louise said.

"Nah, I am not good with that," Jake said. "I will be much more effective by going all out and drawing the attention of as many enemies as possible."

"While that is true, the group is too small to last for long enough to any of us make a real difference," Louise explained. "If you stay just a few meters of them, they will fight even more fiercely in a group and the enemy won't have much targets, thus, Lana will have the chance to concentrate in healing a few orcs instead of dozens of them."

Jake sighed. Why the hell does he has to do that inside a game? They were just NPCs… while they were important on the battlefield, it wasn't like Jake would gain anything by preventing their deaths. Still, in the end, Jake ended up accepting Louise's words. It was a bit troublesome now, but it would help in the long run.

Jake charged toward the kobolds that now were dispersed, hunting the villagers alongside the orcs. When the Kobolds tried to regroup, Jake led the orcs toward them and smashed one by one the groups that were forming. Still, he clicked his tongue in annoyance when he saw that ten kobolds armed with crossbows appeared out of nowhere and pointed their weapons toward the group. Jake quickly fired several Mana Blades and stopped two of them, but the others would be free to cause a lot of damage. Fortunately, Louise was also quick on her feet and hit three of them with Ice Arrows. The power of the barrage decreased a lot, so Jake dashed toward them while zigzagging and dodging the bolts. Once he got close enough, he beheaded them with Cyclone Strike. He had to leave the group for a moment, but it couldn't have been helped. Besides, thanks to that, some orcs got wounded, but no one got killed.

The orcs grabbed the crossbows and then began to hunt the kobolds even more fiercely than before. Adding that to the fact that the enemies had been dispersed, they didn't have many chances to retaliate.

The kobolds decided to retreat and regroup outside the village after losing half of its forces. Jake imagined the whole mission would be like that. He soon found a dust cloud rising in the distance. One very big army was approaching for some reason, and those who were rising it were heading toward that village.
