While everyone was trying to understand what had happened, someone suddenly pointed upward and saw something falling from the sky. Those who knew Jake and his sword immediately recognized him. Using her magic, Louise made some wind slow him down since he wasn't moving, and after that, when he approached, they saw what had happened to him…
"What is this… aside from his arm and face, almost all the king of his body was peeled off," Lana said after experiencing some goosebumps.
"The blast of the attack did that. We have to heal him quickly," Louise said.
Despite being unconscious, Jake didn't let go of his sword for even a moment. Not even after suffering so much damage… in any case, Lana began to heal his body, and the skin began to be restored, but Jake wasn't waking up. As if that wasn't enough, they began to feel that ominous aura again…
"He is back…" Julian said. "We need to assume our positions to block his attacks again."
"After this, I don't think that the shadow titan will attack the way as before and give us the chance to block the attack," Karina said.
"It doesn't matter. We don't have any other option," Arilene said. "Besides, I can feel you all get stronger by the minute, so that thing you said wasn't nonsense… we can do this."
The group wanted to believe that, but it was hard to do so without a proper plan or knowing the enemy's weakness. The enemy would never let him do that… Jake also knew that the plan was impractical, but he couldn't think of anything else. "Shit… fucking asshole," Jake said while he was protecting his face from the dust. "Now he is playing safe… I will attack and keep his focus on me before he can keep going like that."
"Wait, Jake," Lana said. "You absorbed some magic attacks with your sword before. Can't you do that again? I will tell the others to help you stock mana and attack that guy with an even bigger blast of energy."
"I would rather not rely on others to defeat him, even more so when half of the people here have tried to kill me," Jake said. "Just save your energy to go all out in case I don't defeat him… at the very least, I will give you an opening to attack with everything you've got, even though that won't satisfy me in the least."
"All right, you do that, and we will do our own thing," Louise declared.
"Louise?" Lana asked while frowning and the others looked confused as her.
"It is fine. It will be better like this. Forcing him to cooperate is a waste of time," Louise said.
"Again, don't lose your chance once it appears," Jake said and then charged at the enemy.
The shadow titan swung his sword again, and Jake had to endure the Powerful shockwave and numerous rocks hitting him while he advanced. The shadow titan realized that such an indirect way of attacking wouldn't take Jake down, so he readied his sword again, and then he thrust at Jake when he got in range.
Jake tried to dodge to the side, but the weapon still cut a bit of his left side, and that only a bit almost made him lose his left arm. Still, he didn't stop and jumped to the enemy sword. That surprised the shadow titan to the point that he stopped moving for a short while.
The shadow titan swung his sword upward in order to send Jake to outer space again, but at the last moment, Jake jumped toward the enemy's head and then attacked with all his might. He tried to pierce the enemy's face with a stab, but he only made the enemy flinch… with any other choice, he unleashed all the mana he had recovered at point-blank range… but the beam of energy that flew from the sword only made the shadow titan took two steps backward…
"Shit…" Jake thought while clenching his teeth.
Jake certainly caused some damage, but not enough… several shadow spikes emerged from the enemy's body and began to pierce him, but then Jake's wounds began to heal faster than the enemy could pierce his flesh…
"This is… Lana?" Jake wondered.
It was rather impressive that she could do that… the shadow titan wanted her trait exactly because of that because it had the potential to cancel any damage dealt completely, but Jake wondered how she was able to do that right now…
