When some of the attacks fell on their area, Louise used her lightning bolts to repel them. Frederick did the same, and while they had a hard time overpowering only one of those at a time, they succeeded… it didn't take for Jake to learn that the attacks were basically huge amounts of wind that were on fire due to the speed that the punches were launched… he jumped to block one of them with his sword, and he pulled it off… but he barely got any mana from it.

"He is mainly using his physical strength to pull that off… shit," Jake clenched his teeth in anger.

Jake jumped again with all his might to stop the onslaught, but the enemy noticed his intentions and immediately stopped him by firing several fire meteors toward him. Jake's sword blocked all of them, but despite that, when he landed…a lot of steam was leaving his body.

"That isn't good, we are being decimated here, and we can't do anything!" Lana said. "Jake, now it is time for that."

"If I use it, all of us will die since he will use his best attack to stop it… in the best-case scenario, the attack will hit him, but it will kill the vast majority of the people around," Jake explained.

Lana could imagine that as well, but she couldn't think of any other option… no one could. Actually, Jake had an idea that it might work if everyone gave him their mana and if he combined with his dark flames to the limits… he was quite sure that he could destroy half of a continent, and it was hard to imagine that guy being right now strong enough to endure that. Still, that would leave everyone wide open… without the mana to protect themselves. Besides, there was no way that Jake would wait for them or that they would trust Jake…

Before they could come up with an answer to that problem. The enemy just stopped attacking and silently flew downward. That torrent of Attacks only lasted for thirty seconds, but it killed more than half of the humans nearby… the environment also changed. Many snow hills and trees were burned down to their core, and now it looked like they were in the middle of a hellish landscape…

"How utterly foolish, some of you came to face me even without the will to die while taking me down," the enemy said while he saw hundreds of survivors using the system to teleport away from that world. "Still, they are smart enough to understand that you all don't have a chance against me."

No one could say otherwise… only three Hundred people were left, and while they were the bravest of the humans who had fought until now, they still were terrified of the enemy in front of them.

"What are you waiting for? Show yourselves. They won't defeat me. It doesn't matter for how long you wait for that to happen."

It looked like the enemy had lost the plot since he was talking alone now… it was hard for Jake to imagine a third party joining the fight. Still, he didn't forget about the fact that something else created the illusion that was basically a replay of their previous lives. That being said, waiting for help now would be a waste of time…

"It is now or never… I will throw away everything, even my life, to defeat this asshole… it is the only thing that I need now…" Jake thought.

Until now, Jake avoided of even thinking about that, but he didn't hesitate to cover his whole body with the dark flames. He tried to control them in order not to burn his flesh, clothes, and armor, but as expected, he could feel some of it being consumed by the flames… the pain only served to fuel his rage, though.

"Jake?" Louise asked while furrowing her eyebrows and stepping backward.

"Wait for your chance to attack or run away. Things will get serious now," Jake said and then jumped toward the enemy.

"That is more like it… someone like you has to evolve this fast. Otherwise, it won't make sense," The enemy said. "Still… even this much is inadequate. Didn't you learn anything with them?"

"... I am sick and tired of your nonsense," Jake said and then flew toward the enemy.

The enemy frowned a bit when he saw Jake using the dark flames to fly… it seemed that he could use its movements like turbines on several parts of his body to mimic flying. The enemy used both arms to stop Jake's sword strike to test his strength, and then he felt his hands burning and the weight behind them… it was impressive… but it wasn't enough.

"Not enough," The enemy said before moving the sword to the side and then hitting Jake's face with a supersonic kick.

The attack sent Jake flying downward and made him land on the ground, but he quickly got up… even when the impact opened a fifty meters wide crater. He immediately flew back toward the enemy and swung his sword, but he just moved to the side way faster than Jake could follow with his eyes. He managed to get some extra speed thanks to the dark flames, but that didn't help with his kinetic vision.

After flying around and missing the enemy several times, Jake grew impatient, and his control over the flames grew weaker, and he began to burn himself more often.

Congratulations! The class Sinful Ruler has leveled up.

All of your parameters have increased by one hundred points.

Thanks to that, all of a sudden, Jake's power and control over the flames increased. It seemed that he just had to be a bit patient and wait for the class to keep making him stronger, but it was hard to imagine the enemy waiting for that… all of sudden, the enemy just grabbed his neck when he missed an attack.

"What is this? Why aren't you using the other traits that you obtained?"
