Jake raised his sword and pointed at the enemy to use a dark mana blade at the last moment, but then a lightning bolt hit the enemy's head and paralyzed him for a moment, and made him dizzy as well. The power of that attack was astonishing as always, and the precision was even better than before, considering that it barely affected Jake.

Although he knew who had intervened, Jake didn't have time to think about that. He just thrust his sword at the enemy's neck. Still, the enemy recovered in time to block the sword strike with one arm and then attacked Jake from the side with the other and pushed him away. In the next moment, the creature looked at Louise and charged at her.

Louise only looked surprised for a short moment and quickly pointed both hands toward the enemy and created a large electric sphere, and fired at the enemy. However, the creature ignored that and swung the chains at her… its endurance was insane. Or maybe the fact that it was a monster completely overtaken by rage made it almost impossible to feel any pain. It was hard to say...

Somehow, Jake managed to attack the enemy with a dropkick before the creature could finish the attack. The enemy was sent a few meters to the side, and then Jake followed him, already swinging his sword… the enemy raised his guard with the chains.

"This isn't going to work forever…" Jake said and then pierced the enemy's right knee with his sword.

"Grruuuurrrgghhhh!"

The enemy grunted in pain, and his guard weakened a bit, Jake used that chance to attack the face of the enemy, but he quickly closed his arms and made Jake's sword get stuck between the chains.

"Bad idea, mate," Jake said and then used the dark mana blades.

The projectiles exploded the arms and a bit of the face of the target. The chains finally began to crack a little… Meanwhile, the face of the enemy was half burned. Despite that, the guy attacked Jake with a body slam.

The Attack made his whole body tremble, but Jake held his ground and wasn't pushed back that much. The power of the blade prevented him from pushing Jake even further.

The enemy jumped away and used the chains to attack Jake from both sides, but Jake repelled with a horizontal swing… making even more pieces of it fall on the ground… the enemy saw that with a surprised expression… it seemed that it didn't notice it before. Regardless, Jake charged again and used full swing to decrease the defense of the enemy even more… he tried to move away while blocking the attacks with the chains, but that only worked twice. In the third attempt, the chains fell apart, and the blade cut deeply into both arms of the enemy.

"Grruuuurrrgghhhh!"

Jake pressed forward to finish off the enemy, but then he saw the target kicking the ground with all his might to run away… Jake thought that he was facing a mad beast, but that wasn't the case… everything the enemy showed was probably just an act until now…

"I won't chase that guy and risk falling for a trap… I can't leave these guys behind either…" Jake thought as he watched the enemy running away. "That being said…"

After concentrating all of his mana, Jake unleashed a large dark mana blade toward the enemy. When that guy noticed what he did, it was too late… the attack moved much faster than the enemy.

Your strength increased by 200 points.

The class Sinful Ruler has leveled up.

Jake looked at his hands while he felt his power increasing again. There was no time to worry about that… the speed of his growth was insane because of the seven sin skills. The guild masters got stronger faster than the others because of those… so, it was only natural that he would get stronger even faster than that.

"I guess there is no point in dwelling on that anymore…" Jake thought.

Jake decided to help the others, but while he was busy, the backline managed to catch up with them and helped the other parties. Thanks to that, the enemies that were frozen Salamanders were almost all dead on the ground.

"While your idea of helping wasn't so bad, you used too much power and ended up drawing all the aggro of that thing," Jake said. "Control your power to avoid that from happening again."

"It was fine. I knew that you would stop the monster before something could happen," Louise said and then smiled. "We are friends, so it is only natural to help each other."

"... You didn't listen to a thing I said, huh," Jake said. "Don't do anything reckless to help others when it might put you at risk. I am serious."

"Relax, Louise isn't the type to make mistakes," Lana said. "Anyway, did you guys notice it? The monsters aren't dropping any loot."

Jake didn't need more loot, nor did he have time to check for loot, so he didn't notice that before… Still, it has been a while since he got any decent items while fighting, so he didn't even consider that a dungeon master should have dropped a decent item.

"This is unnatural… Do you know anything about this Virgilius?" Louise asked.

"It is hard to say since I don't have enough data," Virgilius replied. "I have a few theories about this, though. The enemy might be able to affect this whole world and change the rules of the system. This being came from another universe, so it must have quite a large amount of knowledge. Leaving it to live for long might give it enough room for the target to create a space where it is impossible to defeat."

"That is a good piece of news that can certainly raise the spirits of everyone," Jake said.
