The bald man opened his eyes widely. Despite not having been awakened completely, his instincts were there… The enemy in front of him was that kind of monster. Even when the enemy was much stronger, he always managed to find a way to turn the tides of the battle… That confirmed him that he had to kill the enemy in front of him before things could get an even worse turn in the future.
As for Jake, he could only get annoyed after looking at the enemy's eyes for so long. He didn't know if it was due to the situation for some other unknown reason, but his desire to cut that guy down was increasing with every single moment.
After parrying the enemy's sword to the side, Jake moved his sword to swing downward while using the dark flames to cut off the arms of the bald man. However, when his weapon began to move, the bald man used all his mana to create an explosion of cold that pushed him away from Jake. Both of them got covered in ice and suffered some damage, but at least the bald man kept his arms.
"What a monster…" The bald man thought while he was breathing hard.
In the meantime, Jake looked annoyed because of the failure of his counterattack and because his balls were freezing. Still, he couldn't complain much since that was something he came up with in the heat of the moment. It was only natural that one would be able to find a countermeasure relatively fast…
Nevertheless, Jake realized that the bald man got quite surprised and was forced to do something out of the usual, like using all of his mana… since he grabbed a potion and began to drink. He sure wanted to win that no matter what. In his position, Billy would take his time defeating an enemy that he was supposed to hate so much, but the bald man had other things to consider aside from his wishes... that was why.
"The difference in power still is clear, but I can make up for it with tactics…" Jake said after he furrowed his eyebrows.
The bald man dashed toward Jake again. Even without his main way of finishing troublesome enemies, Jake still was a challenge. Still, he just had to attack, considering that type of counter as well. Big swings were a no-go, as much as he wanted to split him in half.
Although he really liked those big swings, the bald man used a thurst attack aimed at Jake's head surprisingly fast. Jake sidestepped and dodged, waiting for an excellent chance to counter-attack to appear. Still, the enemy kept thrusting his sword while aiming at his head. Doing those minimal movements to dodge attacks wasn't something that Jake was used to. Still, he managed to pull it off since his speed was recovering… it was only natural that debuff of the bald man wouldn't last forever.
For whatever reason, the bald man didn't notice that… probably because he was too busy attacking, so Jake decided to use that in his favor. All of a sudden, he used Flash toward the enemy while swinging his sword upward. The bald man reacted fast enough to block the sword strike, but he frowned when he saw that the weight of the attack had been so light. All of a sudden, Jake let go of his sword and then threw several shurikens toward the bald man's face.
He moved his left arm to block those, and while the bald man succeeded in blocking it, he lost sight of Jake for a moment. When he moved his arm, the man saw a spinning dark shuriken approaching him… a shuriken completely of dark flames… the bald man was forced to block that with his left arm as well. Still, eventually, they are around the flames begin to crystalize and create a cage for the flames. All of a sudden, Jake lost control over the flames and eventually dissipated. He caused some damage, but that completely shocked him.
"What the hell…" Jake frowned.
In that moment of surprise, the bald man swung his sword horizontally with all his might again. Jake used his defensive buffs while blocking the attack, but he still was pushed backward until his back hit one of the ice walls. At least this time, he wasn't sent flying in the distance…
The bald man charged toward Jake again, with his backs against the wall. There wasn't much Jake could do. The bald man began to swing his sword viciously while blocking all the paths that Jake could use to escape while by using Flash.
"The magic power with the ice attribute that is enough to block my flames… It must be his innate skill," Jake thought.
Jake's entire body was vibrating in pain while he blocked those attacks. The bald man suffered some damage on his left arm, but it hadn't been enough to make him lose any power behind it. He had to leave that place now… He couldn't fight with his back against the wall.
Jake blocked one of the attacks after using Fissure, Bash, and Explosive Touch. The combination made the bald man's sword tremble as well, and his attack stopped for a short moment. Jake used his dark flames on the face of that guy, but soon the area around crystalized again. Still, once again… The enemy lost sight of Jake for a moment.
The enemy ignored the pain in his face and turned around, only to find Jake swinging his sword toward his head. In the end, the bald man grabbed the weapon since it would be faster than blocking the attack with his own.
"Ah… This feels so refreshing," The bald man said.
"I see that you get the kicks from some weird things…" Jake said.
The enemy ignored that and then prevented Jake from pulling back his own weapon and then swung his blue sword toward Jake's head…
