In the end, Jake decided to get the materials for the payments for helping that moron. After taking a good look at it, he only saw a kid that was probably around Karina's age. So unreasonable for trying to solo that mission on his own… not like Jake could say much about that. In any case, after Jake got the materials, he grabbed the kid and then teleported to the world where Frederick's guild could be found.

Jake wasn't essentially patient with kids and since the ground of that world was filled with tall grass, he didn't feel much guilty about dragging down the kid on the ground. Still, he put him on his shoulder after a while, there was no need to be more of an asshole than he already was and the kid should have at least learned a lesson with the new scratches and wounds that he got during the fight. In any case, Jake tried to see the parameters of the kid, but somehow he already had Mental Armor, it was quite surprising since that item was relatively rare and the kid wasn't supposed to be that strong since it was struggling in that world.

When the snow finally melted from the kid's body, Jake noticed that he had a lot of scars. The kid was in shape, so it was no wonder he reached that mission. However, he had long and messy brown hair and his gear was too damaged. Even Jake never reached that level of reckless… he made sure to take at least one day off between missions.

After a while, the guards of the guild saw his approach and frowned when they saw him carrying someone like who looked like a body, but eventually, the guards realized that the kid was alive, so they wanted to question Jake, but he didn't feel like talking.

"A gift to your boss, I found this guy when he was about to become a monster's meal," Jake said. "I don't think that he might be part of the criminals given his appearance, but you should tell Frederick to be cautious."

"It seems you are up to something weird again…" Jake suddenly heard Lana's voice.

"A wild annoying girl who has no self-awareness has appeared…" Jake said and then sighed. "How did you guys notice that I was here?"

"I learned recently a skill that let me feel the magic presence of others and I felt a weakened one approaching," Louise replied. "So, this is how your presence is like… it is kind of messy, I wonder why."

"Maybe it is because of his bad personality," Lana said.

"... Who is this kid?" Karina asked.

"Aren't you a kid as well?" Jake asked. "Anyway, I found him collapsing after fighting some monsters. I don't know anything else. I already did more than usually I would do, so I will leave the problem in your hands."

"He has some snow in his body, I heard that the next place we were going was a cold planet," Lana said. "I thought that you were far ahead of us in terms of progress."

"He is… but he is probably using that world as his temporary base," Karina said.

That was probably her revenge for calling her a kid… Jake almost clicked his tongue in annoyance since more people were learning about his base, but that would confirm things, so he decided not to react in any way. Regardless, Jake perhaps should move just in case… It was a pain, but it couldn't be helped.

"So, you are living in that kind of place now," Lana said and began to heal the kid. "There is no point in hiding, I can more or less read your poker face now."

"I must be becoming quite bad at it if someone like you can do that," Jake said. "Anyway, time to move again."

Truth be told, Jake didn't want to move, so he lied. That cold and quiet place was the best base that he could wish for. He will only trade for that for someplace similar. He either will have to move to another area of that world or to another world, but with his current skills, it would be annoying since he would have to move away from the dungeon.

"Anyway, he is all yours," Jake said and then put the kid on the shoulder of one of the others. "I am outta here."

Before anyone else could say anything, Jake used the system and returned to that world that he used as his base. The chances of something like that happening again were close to none, so Jake was fine in letting that be his good deed of the year. In any case, instead of resting, he decided to hunt some grizzlies. He didn't see the essences before when he was getting the materials, so he assumed that they only showed up when he defeated the monsters himself. His guess was correct… when he defeated some monsters, some small marbles began to drop.

Their names and descriptions were weird as expected, but at least they dropped at regular intervals and Jake could make a stock out of them. His plants were so numerous nowadays that he had to work for a few hours every day to expand them. Maybe it was time to stop that, otherwise, he will waste time creating more potions that he could use.

After returning to his base, Jake began to experiment with the herbs and the essences and he learned that the essences and herbs could dissolve into normal water once they are put together in any kind of container. The bigger, the more he could put more herbs and essences, but Jake didn't have many of those. Fortunately, he kept some bottles of the potions he obtained.
