Blood gushed from the wound of Vare's arm like a fountain. He was used to the pain, but the shock of that one paralyzed him completely. Perhaps the shock of the unpleasant surprise also paralyzed him… Nevertheless, he underestimated Jake a bit, and that was the result. He didn't expect that he would have such a card. He had seen that skill on the list, but he didn't imagine it could be used like that. Regardless, Jake stopped for a moment to look at the enemy which made him learn a lot during the fight.

"I suppose things can't end like this…" Jake said.

"No… until one of us dies, the battle will never end," Vare said and then raised his left arm to attack.

"It can't be helped then," Jake said and then thrust his sword toward the enemy's heart. "I learned a lot from you. I am thankful."

Vare tried to stop the attack with his remaining arm and while he moved away, but Jake was faster under those conditions, and his sword pierced his arm and then the enemy's heart. Vare suffered a bit due to the pain, but after a few moments, his body stopped moving. Jake could have aimed at his head, but he felt that he shouldn't have killed a warrior like that in such a manner. He wondered why he felt like that... it wasn't like he cared much about honor and such things... at least Jake never thought of that before, or he never had the chance to think if someone deserved his respect when they were like that.

Jake sighed… that had been one hell of a fight. It had been fun but pretty tiresome as well. If he hadn't had that idea at the last moment of using his flames, he would have never surpassed the defenses of the enemy. Jake was planning to respect Vare, even if he was an enemy. So, he only wanted to take his claws before leaving. However, his entire body disappeared after a couple of seconds. Even the parts that Jake had cut off earlier… even the blood.

"What the hell…" Jake thought.

To make things even more complicated, Vare didn't drop anything, so Jake was teleported to the neutral world, but he soon returned to the cold one. He didn't accept any mission, but he could travel there now…

Jake clicked his tongue when he realized that he got a magic class, but then his mood improved when he saw that skill. It would help a lot… as long as he kills ordinary monsters with a single hit, he will be able to spam some skills.

"I guess we only got lucky before that our first classes matched with our current fighting style…" Jake thought and then sighed. "Well, I have finished the mission, so I can at least rest for the rest of the day."

Jake headed toward his simple hut, and along the way, he cut some trees in order to make a bed for him. It would be a lot softer since he had the fur of hundreds of grizzlies, so it would be fine if the base were that sturdy. After chopping down the wood, Jake finished the details of his new furniture with Flames of Wrath, but he suddenly saw himself dizzy while using that skill.

"I guess I overdid it during the fight… even though I used this only once," Jake thought.

Controlling the flames while making them move fast like a chainsaw took quite the toll on Jake's mind, so it wasn't surprising that he was tired. His bones still were mending, and his mind was foggy, so he hurried to finish things. Nevertheless, it didn't take too much time for Jake to finish things up and then jump to his new and simple bed. He hadn't eaten anything since yesterday, but he was too tired to feel hungry.

Still, when Jake woke up the next day, the first thing he did was to whip out something for himself to eat. Most of the exhaustion had left his body already, so it was time to hunt again. The frozen grizzlies still were troublesome opponents when they came in high numbers, after all.

"It seems that the rewards of the previous missions have been updated…" Jake thought while he was eating. "I need to take the day to level up Spiritual Recovery, so maybe I should pick the next mission tomorrow."

From now on, Jake assumed that he would train his newest skills on the days off to get some extra status points. He got some during the fight, but the more, the merrier, after all. That being said, he had a feeling that things were about to get complicated again. He didn't know if it was because he ignored Frederick's advice or it was because of some other reason… Nevertheless, his instincts never disappointed him.
