The boss kept firing Fireballs upward until Jake decided to attack the beast. It felt really weird, like he was back in medieval times to run with the shield at the top of his head to avoid the lava. Still, he soon forgot about that when the shield got hit, and the temperature of his arm skyrocketed.

"All right… time to finish this thing once and for all," Jake said and then put some potions in his mouth.

The monster used Flamethrower on Jake, and he kept charging while blocking it with his shield. He used his buffs as well to increase his defense. Still, when some lava fell on his arms and shoulders, he felt like the buffs didn't help at all… that was the price of having such low mentality and willpower.

Jake ignored those notifications and kept charging until he felt like his whole equipment was melting with him inside. Eventually, he reached the boss, and without its wings to block his charge, the monster could only keep using Flamethrower. That didn't stop Jake from leaping and jumping on the monster's head.

While lava was falling on him, Jake began to stab the top of the monster's head with the greatsword. It wasn't the best option for that, but he didn't care. Jake kept attacking without a care until his thrusts alone began to crack the skull of the beast and rip the flesh apart.

Jake had sealed any chances of the monster escaping or resisting a frontal attack like that, so in the end, the beast didn't have any chance to struggle. Still, the creature could have suffered a little less if it hadn't enraged Jake so much. He kept stabbing the monster's skull until his body was dirty with some parts of the boss' brain… only after that, he woke up from his rage stupor. Half of the monster's head had been destroyed, and the creature probably had been killed five minutes ago. At the same time, the rain lava was long gone…

"Shit…" Jake said and then jumped to the ground.

On the previous mission, Jake had considered and thought of some ways to not let the monster suffer too much in a fight… there was no need to be cruel to those creatures that couldn't think straight. And then, when things get out of hand, Jake lets his anger get the better of him.

Jake looked around after cooling his head a bit, and then he found a vial of blood… it was weird to find such a thing, but he had one idea what it was. Still, he wished that it could be obtained in the previous way.

"At least there is this to improve my mood… all of the skills are passive ones," Jake said after a long sigh.

After Jake recovered his weapons, he was immediately teleported back to the neutral world. He had a lot of work to do… clear his head, repair his equipments, clean himself… but there was something else he had forgotten.

"That is a weird class, if anything…" Jake said.

It was a class different from what Jake was waiting for, but it wasn't a bad one. He was thinking of working a bit on his weakness as well, after all. His weakness was his ability to cause damage without direct combat and his magic defenses.

Regardless, Jake earned his chance to rest after hunting monsters almost nonstop for four days, so after repairing his gear and dealing with other miscellaneous things, he went to sleep, and he slept for a full day. He only woke up when he heard a weird voice, and he suddenly got up.

"Mister Jake, my apologies for contacting you at this time, but our guild master wishes to speak with you."

"... Who the hell are you, and where are you?" Jake said while holding his sword already.

"I am a guild member of Frederick's guild, and I am using Telepathy to pass this message."

"... Why don't you tell me everything I need to know now?" Jake asked while wondering how in the hell that guy had so many useful people in his guild.

"This requires a lot of mana to pull off, so that won't be possible. He is waiting for you. I am going to end the call since I am out of mana."

Jake sighed since he was out of mana as well… probably because Mental Armor blocked Telepathy for a while… Nevertheless, he had a decision to make now.
