In the end, Jake got more potions than actual useful items. He was also starting to think that the tutorial zone was dropping better items to help the noobs… Or perhaps it was a matter of how many enemies they killed. Helping those who worked hard was nice… Nevertheless, he didn't need new drops when he had that many free coins, and the list of items in the dungeon shop had increased. Although most of them were fire-related items that wouldn't be useful at the moment, Jake still found some that would. Keeping the others until he finds a way to sell them wasn't a bad idea either. It was only a matter of patience.

Jake was planning to check the dungeon shop again for some other elemental weapons since the effect of Flamberge would be useful. It could make most weapons cause fire damage over time, so it also could ignore a little their weakness against certain types of monsters.
Flamberge was a one-handed sword, so Jake could use it together with his katana, but he was starting to feel that his katana was falling behind in terms of performance. Perhaps it was time to sell it or pass it to someone who would need more than Jake. Besides, Jake sure wasn't suited for dual wielding.
Buying a shield was also too much of a pain, but Jake changed his mind when he saw one that looked like a saw. It had many of those teeth, and it also looked as powerful as it could be. Not to mention, it had a weird but interesting effect.

The cost of stamina was a bit high, and the shield also cost ninety thousand coins. Still, despite their insane costs, Jake bought. The shield wasn't that big, its total circumference was of the same length as his arm, so Jake felt that it wouldn't get in the way if he tried to use a longer and two-handed sword.
Jake tried to use the Boomerang Shield without wasting time when a new crow appeared. The monster tried to repel the attack, but a single Fireball couldn't stop something of that size, so it easily hit and cut the head of the beast.

Although Jake took some naps here and there, it wasn't the same as resting in that grove, and resting in that grove wasn't the same as resting at home. Still, a break of a couple of minutes made Jake recover a lot faster than he had expected. It was weird to see his body becoming like that, so powerful and able to handle that much exhaustion with ease, but it was convenient, if anything.
In any case, Jake sat down and let his back rest against the wall of the dungeon, and he attacked the crows with his shield whenever they came. It was even more fun than using Mana Blade, but Jake used that skill as well in order to make it level up. Using trash mobs to level up skills wasn't a good idea, but letting his mana always stay full wasn't either. After half an hour, Jake mastered the shield, and he had a surprise thanks to it.

Jake got surprised because that was the best class he had got so far and because it granted a skill that was essentially useless for him… since he was solo now. Even before, it would be useless since half of his teammates were a mage and a healer.
"Well, it works on me as well, so it is fine, even if it is a bit inefficient," Jake said.
Jake decided to rest for a couple of more hours for the excuse of leveling up that class. Those sweet, sweet parameters would help him against the boss, so that was a valid reason to procrastinate a bit.
That being said. Eventually, Jake got up and headed to the last room of the dungeon. He wished that he had done that sooner since he found some bifurcations along the way, but Jake solved the problem by waiting for a while until the monsters showed up from the right path.
"What is the point of making dead ends in dungeons, when the right path can be found like this?" Jake thought and then shrugged.
The only real problem with the dungeon was the fact that it was going downward in a more or less spiral way. Not to mention, it was getting a lot hotter than expected. Some parts of the walls were even melting…
