"What the hell… what happened here?" Jake thought. "Did someone drop a city-levering bomb here?"
Jake looked around for traces of that spiral tunnel, but he didn't find any. While the crater was only two hundred meters deep, and the hideout was a lot deeper than that, it was clear that everything below probably had been buried in the dirt. Jake considered who could have done that, and only the people involved would have reason to do so… perhaps the people of that world, but they didn't have the power for that.
Probably, the culprit was the guy who gave the leader of the liches all that technology and crystals… Jake could go around and ask the inhabitants of the region what they knew, but it would be a difficult task. He is human, and humans started those problems… he had to find some skill or item that would let him disguise himself against that kind of situation, or doing investigation work would be a pain.
"Hmm… I guess it can't be helped. This investigation will come to a halt now," Jake thought. "Someone this powerful can move to the areas that I am operating, so I should focus on getting stronger."
Jake returned to the neutral world, and as usual, he followed his routine of cleaning himself, filling his belly with fruits, and looking after his magic herbs before resting for a couple of hours. He seemed pretty careful, considering that he just confirmed once that he needed to get stronger faster, but it couldn't be helped. He had to rest to reach his top condition.

Planet Osteranis - Mission: clear the Ember Crows Dungeon in 120 hours. Reward: 40.000 coins, 4000 fame, and a special class.
"It seems that my new mission has already been decided…" Jake thought when he woke up the next day.
Naturally, Jake wouldn't miss the chance of getting a new class. The chances to get them now were rare, after all. Besides, the amount of experience he gained wasn't split between all classes. "Are you going on a mission now, Jake?" Louise asked. "Do you need a hand?"
Jake considered for a moment. Obtaining that class as soon as possible and clearing the dungeon would be better than spending days hunting the same type of monster. Besides, he made an enemy out of those two, so it might be dangerous for them if they are seen together. It might also become even more troublesome if his enemies realize that he might have some connections to Frederick's guild. Also, Jake wasn't certain of who he could trust at the moment, so he had to be careful with whom he worked with. He was pretty sure that those three wouldn't do something like backstabbing him, but there were numerous ways that they could be used, even by those that they didn't trust.
"Sorry, but I chose a solo quest this time," Jake replied. "So, you guys can't come. Also, the snakes of that world grew a lot in number in the last few days, so perhaps you should focus there."
"Hmm… is that so," Louise said. "Well, we wish you luck then," Louise said.
"Well then," Jake said and then selected his next mission.
"... What do you think, Lana, Karina?" Louise asked.
"He is as annoying as ever," Lana said.
"He thought for quite a while before answering your answer," Karina replied. "I don't think that he was just considering if the quest was supposed to be completed solo or not."
"Ah, you guys are talking about that…" Lana said. "He didn't seem that much different than before, but considering how prideful he is, he probably went to talk with Adam for a good reason. Something that he wants to keep a secret from us. While that seems an interesting topic, it might not be good since we are newbies to force Adam to give us some answers."
