Chapter 27: I can see

He could feel the crushing feeling through his foot and Dohyuk thought that this feeling of hitting someone was something he couldn’t get used to. Julian and Dohyuk’s bodies both fell. Dohyuk used his landing move to steady himself. The impact had some shock, but it was bearable. He then turned, to Julian who was lying flat on the ground. Dohyuk didn’t receive a message that told him Julian was dead yet, but his top of the skull was crushed in, obviously destroyed from the kick.

‘Gaiter.’

The gaiter was wrapped with a rope on Julian, and it seemed like it would be difficult to quickly take it off.

‘I can’t just digest it but...’

Dohyuk then turned around and faced the others. These were the men Julian had brought and he had no way to fight all of them at once, but Dohyuk readied himself.

“Anyone. Come fight me.”

The Great Emperor made a declaration and the men began running back. Those were just some ordinary men who could not overcome their fear to stand against the once mightiest person on Earth.

However, some people among the crowd did not run.

‘They are trying to fight.’

Dohyuk felt some of them. As the fleeing group went further away, the remaining four ‘beasts’ stood.

A well-built man with an iron helmet.

A high school boy in his uniform.

A woman with blonde-dyed hair.

A short woman in her mid-40s.

They weren’t Julian’s officers. Rather, they were those who always looked for a chance to betray Julian.

“...”

They did not charge headfirst at Dohyuk and glanced at each other. Even they weren’t friends with one another.

“...First.”

The middle-aged woman spoke. “We will fight together and catch him alive. We can discuss on the ‘share’ later.”

“I agree.”

“Me too.”

“Good.”

The four of them then tried closing in, but Dohyuk began running away.

“GET HIM!” the high school boy shouted as he ran out and the blonde woman followed. After about 10 seconds of running, they realized they were the only ones following Dohyuk. Dohyuk then stopped and turned.

“...Two.”

Dohyuk sighed in relief. It seemed they had different motives. He thought those with a 2nd Nature would not take the risk to go after Dohyuk, and he was right. Beyond the teenager and the woman, the man and middle-aged woman were fighting over Julian’s body. What they were after was the gaiter.

“Those idiots!”

They became tense. They still had the upper hand in numbers but the number had decreased to two. Dohyuk charged in.

The other two fought over the gaiter.

“UGH...”

It was the man who fell.

“You think I’m weak because I’m a woman?”

“You b*tch...”

She was really powerful. It seemed she had received power from a god that was related to magic. The man’s <Helm of Hungry Power – B> wasn’t bad, but it was useless against magical damage.

“You should’ve known better.”

The woman struck the man with her magic against man’s stomach, which threw him a couple of meters away. Instead of finishing him off, the woman decided to take the gaiter first.

“Dammit...!”

The man clawed the sand in rage, but he soon felt something.

“Huh...?”

It was a glass bottle filled with salt. It was that Dohyuk threw from above. Was it a coincidence that it was here? To the man’s eye, a message that Dohyuk hadn’t seen before popped up.

<<Salt of Goddess – ???>>

“...!”

It wasn’t like when he saw other items. It was distorted and was getting even more distorted.

[Eattttt theee f*****ck uppppp!]

The men opened his helm and consumed the powder from the bottle. The effect was instantaneous.

[NICEEE!]

The man stood up. He couldn’t feel any pain. He turned and saw the woman pulling out the gaiter.

Dohyuk gritted his teeth in front of two bodies. One of his wrists hurt because he’d lost his hand, and it was hard to grab the weapons that belonged to the attackers. Dohyuk then turned away and began walking to where Julian was. The winner was decided. The middle-aged woman’s dead body was crushed as the man kept kicking and stomping on it. He then turned to Dohyuk. His red eyes were visible through his helmet.

Dohyuk said, “You should’ve run away with the gaiter.”

“I thought about doing that, but there’s no need.”

The man flashed the salt bottle. Dohyuk immediately recognized what it was.

“Whatever this is, it’s great!”

The man consumed more salt.

“HAAAAA!”

The man shook as if he just consumed a drug and put the bottle into his pocket.

“Amazing! It’s like my mind is cleared of pain or fear! No other drug can do this!”

“...I don’t think it’s free.”

“HUH? Did you see the description>?”

The man became curious, “But it doesn’t matter!”

And then he charged at Dohyuk with incredible speed. Dohyuk calmly reacted; he dodged and kicked the man’s leg and body. He destroyed the man’s bones and inner organs.

“Doesn’t matter!”

Since he couldn’t feel any pain, the man closed in and held onto Dohyuk’s arm.

[Touch that grants power]

It was a Nature that increased strength while touching the opponent. The man slammed down Dohyuk down. His two legs pinned Dohuk’s legs along with his left arm. The man used his other hand to pin Dohyuk’s head down.

“It’s amazing! SEE! I even beat you!”

Dohyuk raised his free arm, but there was no hand, so all it could do was to smear its blood on the helm.

“Haha, you are struggling. How about I give you a chance?”

“...”

“Tell me, why should I let you live?”

But even if the man didn’t ask, Dohyuk was going to say it anyway.

“Digest.”

“...!!?”

The man flinched and checked the hand. There was nothing on it. The light then shined from where bodies of the high school boy and the blonde woman were. His hand which was holding onto teenager’s dagger was waiting for the master’s signal.

Then, with the new hand that appeared, Dohyuk grabbed the helm.

“Digest.”

The helmet disappeared and Dohyuk grabbed the man’s face.

“AAAARGH!”

“....!!!”

The man began pressuring Dohyuk’s head.

“YOU FAILED! I CANNOT FEEL-”

But that was it. Without the helmet, he was much weaker than Dohyuk. Besides, his Stamina was much weaker. His pinning did no damage against Dohyuk, while his head was getting destroyed. Soon, the power that pushed Dohyuk down was released.

Dohyuk became confused. He acquired only hundreds of coins when he killed Eunho. The man with the helmet wasn’t as strong. The reason why he was pinned down was due to the fact that it was part of the plan.

“...”

As he looked down, a bottle dropped from man’s pocket. It was the bottle from Ka’Kudenol. Dohyuk picked it up. He couldn’t see anything, but he heard a voice. fr eewebnovel.com

<<ISN’T IT MORE TASTYYY WITH ITTTT?>>

“...Damn.”

He then opened the bag and threw it in. He didn’t want to carry it around, but he just had the feeling that if he threw it away, it would become another unknown threat. He then looked down at Julian. Dohyuk raised his feet to finish him off, but he had to kick elsewhere. There wasn’t anything, he hit something.

“Ugh...”

Namgun appeared. He was so careful in his hiding to kill Dohyuk.

“How...”

“I can see you.”

To be precise, he felt his presence.

“You’re shaking.”

Namgun was shaking, but so was Dohyuk. Ever since he fought against Julian, he was terrified.

“Tell me.”

“W-what...”

“What’s next?”

Dohyuk pointed to the cave.

“What was Julian Dekin after in this cave?”

Treasures that Julian sought after to become like Dohyuk. Namgun couldn’t resist and began talking.
