Chapter 203: Forcing Kaido to flee Marineford
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Blaize and Kaido exchanged blows with one another while the thunderous lightning cracks and shockwaves terrorized the Marines present in the Marineford.
Neither of them showed any weakness. At that moment, something unexpected happened. Blaize flashed before Kaido and punched him in the face with his balled fist imbued with Conqueror's Haki.
"Bang!" The straightforward punch sent Kaido flying back and crashing into one of the Marine warships.
Rising to his feet, Kaido brushed the blood that dripped from the corner of his lips and laughed. "Worororo! Just now, you killed my observation Haki with your Conqueror's Haki, right? Let's play more! Marine!"
Adding force to his feet, Kaido lunged at Blaize. In mid-air, his appearance took a drastic change as he switched to his human-beast hybrid form.
Blue scales covered his arms, legs, torso, and back. Six horns extended on his head, claws grew on his hands and feet, with a long dragon tail on his back.
Kaido's human-Beast Form is not as colossal as his dragon form but the pressure he induced is coercing.
"What kind of appearance is this? He's neither human nor beast!" A marine soldier exclaimed.
"It's a human-beast form exclusive to Zoan users." Another marine, who knows more about Zoan, replied.
Looking at Kaido's change, Blaize showed no visible change in expression. In the short exchange, he confirmed his haki is more formidable than the former.
But, Kaido's exceptional physique combined with his Fish-Fish fruit gives him an edge over his haki. Of course, it would be different if Blaize used his devil fruit power.
His current fighting strength should be slightly above the level of Yonko and more or less equal to Peak Whitebeard. But, it's not enough to overthrow the World Government.
"Don't underestimate me, Marine! I'm Yonko Kaido. Show me everything you got" Kaido roared and leaped into the air. Twirling his weapon above his head, he imbued it with conqueror's haki as it exuded black lightning sparks.
Plunging towards Blaize, he swings his club down with great smashing force. "Kōsanze Ragunaraku"
Facing the full power attack of Kaido, Blaize didn't even flinch or attempt to make some big moves. He simply blocked the smash with his left arm coated with Armament Haki.
"Boom!"
Upon collision, a resounding sound resonated the Marineford while the ground beneath Blaize's feet shattered like spiderwebs and turned into dust.
But, the might of Kaido's attack failed to shake Blaize. With a slight push and wave of his left arm, Kaido was forced back.
Looking at his strongest attack that was ineffective against Blaize, Kaido narrowed his eyes. Though he looked calm on the surface, his heart was in turmoil.
'How can it be? He can block my Conqueror's attack with just Armament Haki!! It's getting troublesome. He killed my observation haki with his conquerors, it's similar to Captain Rocks and that brat Shanks'
Grinning a little, Kaido looked at Blaize and spoke: "I admit, you are strong. But, I become the strongest by bringing down those people who are said to be stronger than me.
By defeating you, I will be stronger than before."
Facing the powerful Blaize, fear didn't get into Kaido's mind but intense excitement. Only such blood-boiling battles make him feel alive in such a boring world.
The Marines stood in awe, as one of the four emperors Kaido equally matched with Blaize. To them, it's simply unbelievable and something worth revering.
"As you requested earlier, I'm going to use my full strength. Are you ready to receive it?" Blaize spoke and took a step forward.
As he took this step, the very Marineford itself reverberated as if something is awakened. Blaize's momentum underwent a drastic turn.
The solid ground cracked in his mere presence while everything else went into still mode; the sea, clouds, and even the surrounding air.
Intense heat covered the area as it began to affect the very surroundings while Blaize's entire body was shrouded in golden brilliance.
As he clenched his fist, the golden brilliance around him disappeared and amassed in his hand. His fist formed a spherical hollow that glowed in bluish-white with black flashes of lightning arcing around.
"This isn't good!" Garp, who was watching the battle as a spectator while enjoying his senbei, foresaw what would happen next with Observation Haki and took action.
His figure flickered and disappeared from where he stood and appeared before the Marines. As for Sengoku, he gritted his teeth and scolded with his fist balled.
"He isn't holding anything back? Is he planning to destroy the Marienford?" Sengoku too appeared next to Garp.
"Vice Admiral Garp..."
"Fleet Admiral Sengoku..."
The Marines present were startled by the sudden appearance of two esteemed figures.
"Get back everyone," Garp shouted and forced the marines back.
Blaize's lukewarm countenance now fashioned into an intense grin. As his Marine coat waved on the wind, he drew back his glowing fist till it reached his ears.
With no suspense, he threw a straight punch forward at Kaido. For the onlookers, it seemed as if time slowed down in the presence of such an earth-shattering attack.
A compressed heat pressure released from his fist followed by a massive "boom" that shook the entire Marineford and set off a heatwave that instantly melted everything in its path.
Thanks to Garp and Sengoku, they stopped the heat waves from hurting the marines. Otherwise, the consequence would have been disastrous.
At the same moment, perceiving Blaize's overpowering strike, for a split second, Kaido felt something he hadn't felt in many years, fear. Something foreign to him since he hadn't experienced such feelings for a very long time.
Kaido hastily emptied the wine off his gourd and entered alcohol mode: "Shuron Hakke". By entering this state, his Haki got stronger, and his body got even bulkier.
Pouring every ounce of his raw strength and Conqueror's Haki, he swung his weapon with everything he had.
"Bang!"
When Kaido's strike collided against Blaize's compressed heat pressure imbued with Conqueror's Haki, it couldn't hold on for a second before it got overpowered.
A fist mark was imprinted on Kaido's body just below his chest region and the same could be seen on his back.
The sea region behind Kaido was vaporized while steam began to shroud the Marienford.
"Sphhhlt!"
Blood gushed from Kaido's mouth as the latter supported himself with his weapon Hassaikai. His other hand gripped the abdomen, hissing in pain.
"What the hell was that?" Kaido asked himself. The pain he felt was unimaginable and he could tell the attack melted his inner organs even though he protected them with Haki.
'With just a single attack, I nearly died.' Raising his head, Kaido met Blaize's stare.
