Chapter 438 438: The Northern Campaign VIII (Warning: Gory )
Cole followed as his body blasted out of the hole that Tiana had just made. He went well above the gates as he noticed that a full blown fight had broken out between his forces and the northerners. His wild attack after Pasco was killed had smashed a large hole in the wall and created enough Chaos for and the militia to press their advantage.
However there wasn't much of that advantage as they were on the backdoor and Tiana was rapidly crossing the battlefield, moving into the distance in an attempt to escape from the fury driven Cole.
The very idea that she was running pissed Cole off even more. You had the balls to take away from him, but no confidence to face the consequences…..the girl had no idea that more and more with each second that passed, Cole's thirst for her blood was growing even larger!
[Shadow Dance]
His form seemed to coast along the ground, sliding in the form of a moving shadow that showed up out of the shadows of everyone else on the battlefield. He noticed get on top of an Animech, this one shaped like a cheetah as she screamed at the Pilot to 'Get the hell out of here! ' but there was no escape.
[Black Surge] [Assassinate] [Black Cut]
Cole dug his feet into the ground and changed the shape of [Black Malakai] from the simple longsword look, to a massive buster sword that needed all of his strength 5o swing. It releases a crescent wave of black and grey that seemed to smell like ruin and rot.
Thankfully none of his units or allies were within the range of the attack or they too would have been cut up in it. The attack met the Animechs, smashing into it as it was almost immediately divided in two. The lower half experienced rot and degradation in real time as it year of rust caught up to it.
As expected Tiana had a way to save her life as she quickly teleported out of the way. In the end Cole realized that she probably wasn't as strong on this floor as she would have been somewhere else. And this was because there was a very steep limitation to technology, and Tiana had based all her abilities on Technology and Bio enhancement. Cole had seen very small if any sort of magical ability or just any other skill that wasn't dependent on tech or her body.
He was paying attention to this because it was she and Eze that was always drawing for the second rankings, she was strong, but she had too much hubris born from her obsession with him. Her need to think herself superior and the fact that she was ranked second had made her complacent, made her think she was powerful enough to bring the great World Breaker down.
And even if she wasn't powerful enough to bring him down, she could at least hit him where it hurts the most and escape to fight another day…..she grossly miscalculated. Cole's abilities like every other Raen is greatly based on his state of mind; his emotions.
This was a bonus that would not be noticed by Raens until after level 100 or the true system for universe 26 is unlocked. But Cole being the closest to a 100 and all round just being the first Raen in existence can grow stronger, way beyond expectations if whatever emotion he was feeling at that point was strong enough.
He leaped into the air, shifting his sword into a Naginata. The extra reach and force as he swung it down, utilizing [Gravity] to give the strike an extra dose of power. Tiana cocooned herself again, but there was no stopping it as the massive sword smashed her into the ground.
*Boom!*
Cracks spread everywhere, the sound of the hit reverberating so strongly that it even drained out Tiana's screams of pain. This annoying brat had killed an investment and a friend, and she had discovered a way to weaken Cole, a way that he was sure many forces would now want to employ, at least those with better access to magic and resources to trap him in place long enough to end him.
*Bang!*
Cole hit her again, this time with even more force as he utilized [Shock Wave] with the strike, and then came the next hit and the next one. And with each strike, the shockwaves kept on spreading, so much so that no one else could come close to the area where Cole was attacking Tiana.
But that was not enough, Cole was lost in his rage and it in turn kept fueling his rage as [CHAOS] started getting infused into his strikes, all the while Tiana kept on defending, but it was only a matter of time before Cole would break through, or he destroys the entire area they were currently in.
The rest of the soldiers both Northerners and Boreas kept on moving away. The shockwaves were getting stronger by the minute and spreading farther and farther. The earth beneath Cole had already been ground to fine dust and with the shockwaves still spreading, soon enough it will reach the walls of Te Merea, there was no telling what would happen next if Cole did not snap out of his fury induced coma.
Tiana on the other hand was a master of defense and regeneration. It was enough to keep up even with Cole's [Demonic Constitution] which is saying something. And she was healing her body or rather her tentacles just as quickly as Cole was destroying them in order to get to her.
*Boom! Cr-Crash! Whoooooosh!*
A 30 meter section of the wall turned to dust and crashed to the ground. The sound was enough to cause everyone else to feel alarmed as Cassandra flew out of the rubble, by now Razor's body would have despawned. The attack Tiana had used had been directly targeted at the soul, which means whatever damage he had sustained in this form, it would be reflected back in his real body.
The guilt ridden grieving mother turned left and right, searching like a wild animal, the moment she noticed Cole and Tiana she rushed towards them, screaming and crying her bow left behind her. But the first attempt she made to get close saw Cole's shockwave blasting into her causing her to spit out a mouthful of blood as she was thrown backwards.
"Fuck Off!"
Those two words were enough to send sheer terror dancing up and down the spine of Cassandra and every other person who was still observing this fight. Cole turned back to Tiana's Cocooned form and shifted Black Malakai into a small hand axe, he pulled back drawing a deep breath as he pulled power and a surge of powerful Chaotic energy rushed upwards and into the axe.
"DIE!"
The axe split down, a screech of black and red chaotic energy, infused with wrath, the very emotion itself transformed into something more, into an attack that went straight down to the very soul of the person it hits. The cocoon split as the axe hit down into the collarbone of the smuggler, the woman who he was always with Tiana.
Blood spurted up into Cole's face as the smuggler held his gaze, her eyes wide with shock. She was a denizen after all, and Cole was striking down to her very soul. He heard Tiana whimper from behind the smuggler, he was sure she could feel the moment his axe made impact, but it was not enough, she needed to feel even more.
He swung the axe down again, he felt it dig into hone and flesh, blood splashed as he swung again and again. There was no mercy to this, Cole was butchering her alive, and both she and the teenager beneath her knew this and could feel it.
Tiana, the self styled Queen of Revenants and Mistress of Bio-Technology. She was the villain of villains. The greatest evil, the one who would become the most powerful and pay back the fucking universe for the hell they had put her through all her life.
She was going to be the one who stepped on people before they stepped on her, anything to achieve her goal and become strong. Anything to get revenge for her Colony, razed to the ground by the UN in an attempt to cover up the dirty secrets of the human experiments they had been carrying out there.
Said they were insurgents and were rebelling against the World Council. Pirates, terrorist….. they were just farmers that had been used and twisted by people looking for the next generation of super soldiers. In the end it was all a failure and they killed everyone, she wanted her revenge, she is supposed to be the strongest.
Cole dragged the butchered and mutilated body of the smuggler to the side as he looked down on Tiana. He was the perfect picture of horror, pieces of bone sticking out of his hair, her blood all over his body and his eyes…..black! Not gold or red, but black, and so was his soul. Tiana looked up at him as she choked up, reverting truly to the child she truly was, and one that was absolutely terrified of death.
"No! Please! Please! No!"
