Chapter 429 429: Tests III
After the testing with Peronico, Cole made his way back to the Black Tower as his seat of power was now being called. Honestly he was not here enough for this place to be endearing enough to him, it was just a building, but it was not a matter of time. Home is where the heart was, and right now a lot of his heart was here with his family and his woman. The first person Cole saw once he made his way in was his Aunt, from the way she was standing it was obvious she has been waiting for him.
Tehilla scoffed and walked past the woman, the nature of their alliance was one that they were still trying to figure out. With how much bad blood has been left between the family, not to mention the fact that the governments of their reality were all knocking down their foundations and completely removing and taking over anything that belongs to the Night family. Of course Tehilla assets and Cole's with Sierra Corp could not be touched.
Perhaps they were trying to be careful, the fall out between Cole and the Night family was already a famous scandal. Not many expected him to make a move against the government. But for Cole himself he was just waiting for the right time, he'd love to deal with them, but he was waiting for the big One double O. Level 100, he could not help the fact that he knew a great change was coming….he wanted to face them at his strongest.
His Aunt was a passionate person, so being patient was not her strong suit, she knew they had the power, all she wanted to do was to go over there and tear them all to pieces. But going off against a government was easier said than done, especially now when there was so much at stake. Just as Cole saw her, he saw his Nephew and Nieces turn around the corner and rush at her.
For a second his eyes widened, thinking that perhaps the kids were angry at her, she was after one of the parties responsible for the death of their father. But instead they came to her asking questions as she answered with a soft smile on their face even going down on her knees to be able to talk to them properly. Cole's first brother's wife watched on with a couple of guards behind her, as his Aunt and nephew and niece spoke about the Dryad forest to the west and planning a visit to go play with the tree girls again.
Soon enough they shifted their attention to him, it came as no surprise he was the favorite uncle. Usually when he was around and not logged in, and they can outmaneuver Tehilla. The twins slept on his bed every chance they get, and he too felt at piece with the both of them in his arms. There's too much darkness in the world right now, the future was and will always be a safe space, and these kids are the future.
It was close to another hour and the half before Cole and his Aunt finally got he chance to talk. The kids left with their mother and guards, and Tehilla and Farida had to go take care of some administrative matters. Apparently another Glade had reached out to them for an alliance or some sort of trade deal, he wasn't so sure what it all entails, but in the end he wished them luck as he found himself in his office….. AKA a throne room that was recently added to the [Black Tower].
"I don't mean to be rude but Nephew…..how long are we going to wait till we go get our revenge?" Cole sighed as he stood besides her. The throne room was actually bare, there was a raised Dias but no throne on it. He turned to his aunt and said to her.
"We can go now if you want, but we won't get them all, and we would have to retreat. A fight now would have to rely on guerilla tactics, and that I'm sure you can agree is not our way. Plus they are waiting and expecting us to come attack, I say they all should wait some more."
"But for how long! What am I supposed to be doing, all I can think about is revenge, I want them to pay." Cole was not sure what sort of upbringing his aunt had, but her fixation on revenge was scary. It made him wonder how she had grown, it also gave him an insight into her character. She's a woman who does not want to take a loss or to get hurt by anybody, because she was ruthless enough to serve it back cold and a hundred times worse.
"Grow stronger, I'm waiting to reach level 100, I'm at level 95 right now, and advancements now are extremely slow. Even on the rankings even though Cole was the number one, their levels are not shown there, leaving people in suspense. But it was good, Cole as not level 95 he was level 98 and really close to 99.
He still did not trust anybody, chief of all his Aunt. It would be best if people think he was lagging behind in the level department and his face to level 100. If his enemies hear it, they would make the stupid decisions of underestimating him, and that would be a mistake that could not be undone.
"There are many things to be done here Aunt, you can focus on getting stronger, or join the military or something. There's the central Glade that we still have to take care of, and so far logistics and training for Raen Valley's army is already under way. There are many divisions, you can pick whichever one excites you and join, I'm sure a leadership position would come your way soon enough. There are darklings that are in need of that fury of yours.
So for now channel it into making this place secured, because even after we get our revenge and believe me when I say; we will get our revenge! There is still the future and the end of our universe as we know it to look forward to. Our governments and revenge seem so small to me in the face of survival.
With Uncle Henry dead, revenge is only for those who helped him. And I don't care if they're the World Council of government, those fuckers killed my grandparents. So without a doubt Aunt...they too must suffer and pay the price of stepping on the Night's family toes."
