News about the second floor was already circulating the internet, and a host of news stations and blog sites having been sending olive branches and deals in an attempt to get an exclusive from the first 1st ranked player.

Using Morgan to manage the situation in the game, at least the leaderboards itself, Cole knew he had dropped to 4533, and he was dropping by the second as more and more people got into the second floor and continued to progress. In all honesty he was beginning to feel a little bit frantic about it, but it could wait for another hour while he finished up what was in front of him.

There was a bevy of documents scattered on his bed, Tehilla had left a few hours ago and even though working with her had been somewhat tense, they had been able to get a few things done by catching him up to speed.

Both his brothers had been responsible for acquisitions, it was the traditional role held by any heir or young member of the family who wanted to start working with the company. It was a position both his brothers, three of his cousins and a second cousin held.

It was in the process of a joint acquisition between his eldest brother Jackson and second eldest Jason, that they were attacked and killed. But according to his reports, the acquisition was supposed to be handled by his cousin Micah…. Yet somehow both brothers had ended up going after the contract.

"Morgan, pull up the schematics for Dutse's Gold Lining Light Club. Also get me a list of previous owners, their political affiliations, who owns it now, any significant geographical advantages, and what was the initial cost for acquiring it, also check if Jackson and Jason left an official report for why they had to inspect the asset in person." Cole asked as he took a seat with a mug of hot chocolate in hand.

He'd never admit to the rest of his family, but it was good to be rich and comfortable once again…life had not really been the best when he wanted to chase after love and his life…. The illusion of control is nothing but a big fucking lie…. Nothing you try to do ever works out the way you want it.

There are no changes for anyone to be gullible and innocent with a heart full of adventure and love…. The ensuing result is a woman cheating on you and not even giving you a chance to stand by her when she decides for both of you not to keep your own baby. And wile he respected her choices as a woman, after all it was her own body…. He wished he at least got a chance to do... well to do anything!

[Young Master Cole I have compiled a data packet for you. Would you like me to upload it to your neural dome?]

"Yes indeed Morgan, that would make my job a little faster. Go right ahead." Cole said as he sat on a massive armchair and let Morgan upload the information he needed up to his neural dome.

Cole did not take long to go through the information Morgan had uploaded to his neural dome, and it was quite an eye opener. He finally understood why both of his brothers had been required to handle this, or even if they weren't, he understood why they would have taken it upon themselves to see to it that the acquisition was seen through to the end.

"Morgan, where is Micah now?" Cole asked as he got back up to his feet and spread a few sheet of paper on his desk, his sharp eyes rapidly picking out different key words that he used a red market to underline.

Most of the papers on the table were printed copies of his brother's phone conversation on the day of their murders. And while they had extensive talks with Micah who was now missing, they had not been in communication with anyone else, except for Jason who had triple dialed a particular number but still recurved no reply for it.

[Young Master Cole, I'm afraid Master Micah had gone off the grid with his family. They were not close enough to take refuge within the main compound when the attacks started, so they went to a hidden facility and cut off communications until there has been an improvement. Only the head of the family can contact them sir.]

Cole furrowed his eyebrows, it has only been two or three days, so he knew no one had the time to go through all of this information and call out the patterns. But this was family they were talking about, Cole would rather not jump to conclusions so quick, because if what he's suspecting it true… then shit about to get really ugly.

"Morgan can you pull up satellite imagining and live feed from the asset that was to be acquired? I believe by now M.O.T.H.E.R should have already created an information grid within the area as is protocol for all potential or new acquisition."

An image popped up in front of Cole showing him what seems to be an abandoned subway station. And he would be right, this was an abandoned subway station that had tunnels that stretched to 6 major locations in the city and a couple of smaller more obscure fails that led to the outskirts of small communities close to the capital.

Back in the day it was meant to be a tourist only railway line. One led to Aso Rock, Nigeria's equivalent of the white house. Then the others led to the city gate, the airport, the space port, the commercial districts, the Jabi lake, and the massive travel park on the East end of the city. This wad a direct route to some of the most important parts of the city.

And with access to those places you would be able to smuggle anything in and out of the city, or anyone, or you could set up a distribution line. And with direct and private access to the space port, airport, and transport park. You could send weapons, drugs, people or anything else of value to any part of the country, any part of the world, and any part of the Galaxy…. This place was a literal goldmine.

"Morgan can you triangulate where Micah's tracking chip went offline, and the triangulate where his family's chip went offline, then compare them to the locations where Jackson and Jason were first attacked, and where they were killed. Make sure to compare the reports with ours, and then find out who gave our reports and see if you can back into any security network within the area and come up with a cohesive string of data that can give us at least a basic idea of what happened that day."

[As you wish Master, it will take me 30 minutes to compile the data, should I send for more beverage for you?]

"No Morgan I'm fine, though I would like if you bring up the official page and forum for the event, perhaps it would be a bit better to find out what's happening."

[As you Wish Master.]

The moment he did that a web page opened up in front of Cole, the first he noticed after the Titan Rising Online Logo, followed by the final event label, and then a countdown that read [Floor 02/25]. What came next shocked him enough that he was left gobsmscked for a moment.

There was trailer playing on the screen, along with it was a shoulder thumbnail with the title [The Return Of Cole Night: The Nightmare's Origins].

"Seriously? That's what they want to call me, the nightmare? Are they fucking serious!"

Below his trailer were a couple of others, each of them with one cheesy name after the other, but his was at the first and it was scheduled for a late evening streaming that would last 15 minutes per episode, with each heavily edited. The first floor Chronicles of in this case the first season would carry on for a week telling all of his adventures on the first floor before they would beginning streaming his adventures on the second floor after a week of rest.

They hadn't even reached out to him yet to make agreements, and they went ahead and did all of this….it seems he would be sending a call to the family's lawyer in the morning.

But at the moment for the next hour Cole had nothing to do, so without wasting too much time he began to go through the web page and the forum, taking in knowledge, builds, quests, titles that have been received and all round just enough to find out what had happened with other players on the first floor. And he did it all successfully enough to not have stumbled on information about the second floor, because even if a lot was at stake….Cole enjoyed the thrill of a challenge.
