Chapter 405 405: Welcome To Te Boreas V

Whoever this guy was he was not afraid of Cole or the fact that he now had stats in the diamond rank. But that was probably because Cole could feel that he too had some of his stats if not one of them in the diamond rank, now it was up to them to see if that would be enough.

They rushed at each other, but his assailant, sliding on the ground hos shadows giving him a boost of speed as he ducked under Cole's swing and attempted to slash Cole's ankles and he slid past him. However Cole quickly turned, increasing his own speed to by utilizing a burst of energy. He stabbed his sword down, but shadows showed up to swallow Azrael.

And then promptly spat him back out above Cole his dagger poised and ready as gravity took over and brought his body crashing down. But Cole was master unto [Gravity] itself, so it was not too hard for him to reverse it in a sudden concussive blast that threw Azrael higher into the air….Cole promptly joined him as he leaped into the air.

He speed brought him closer faster than Azrael's shrouded figure could react, the hooded man held his knife in front of him as Cole crashed into him with a powerful clap of thunder. His knife held as he smashed his head into the bridge of Cole's nose, grinning to himself a bit at the audible crack he could hear as shadows swallowed him up.

He appeared once again on the streets, but this time it was Cole who was on the offensive. Popping out of a shadow besides him and smashing the flat side of his sword into the face of the guy, smashing him into the wall besides him and through the building as his body crashed into what seemed to be a warehouse for furniture.

Cole followed him, but suddenly all of his thoughts felt slow and for a moment he seemed to forget where he was. It was almost as if he had been blasted with the [Confusion] skill from an Kadabra. But since there were no Pokemon here it could only be- "shit!" Cole ducked back, barely evading the knife that went over his face, but he was off balance and Azrael was not done yet as he swept the off balanced Cole's legs from under him.

His leaning back became a falling back as Azrael reversed his thrust and brought the knife stabbing down to Cole's chest. There was no time to parry or defend with a weapon, but there was time to run. Cole vanished into the shadows and Azrael's blade smashed into the ground, cratering it with such extreme force that all the supports within the warehouse let out a massive groan as they were destabilized.

A massive wooden beam fell from the ceiling as Azrael vanished into the shadows and Cole showed behind a well hidden pillar, observing the battlefield and the absence of his hidden opponent. Cole could not find him, even when they were fighting the presence of Azrael seemed absent, like he had found a way for reality to completely ignore his own existence.

"I would have you know that my rate of success is a 100% so it does not matter what you do, you will die here today. And unfortunately for you, the extra lives wont matter because if you die at my hand, then you die for real in our world. I don't know what you did to piss the system off, but the rewards for your head are damn lucrative. Make your peace Mr Night, you die Now!"

Cole had no idea how Azrael had been able to project his voice through the shadows in the warehouse. Cole could just fuck it and go super saiyan, but he was being subdued for the same reason this Azrael was not going super saiyan himself. They were in a fucking giant city and this was an assassination attempt. Cole had felt it the very moment he stepped foot in the city, there was a power beyond what even the Diamond rank could bring to bear. The presence of a few people felt like the entire universe bearing down on Cole.

Either way, Cole was right about keeping a low profile. It was a gut feeling, but this floor would be very different from the previous ones. He had to take things a little easier, or he could get fucked. And the rules had changed, this had gone far and far from a game. Now it did not matter if you had five lives or ten lives there were individuals and skills that were now capable of killing an aspirant without care for how manly lives they had.

Cole had to be wise, and the first thing he had to do was suck this bloody assassin dry of anything vital in his shadowy existence. So when the blade came stabbing for his spine, Cole had already seen it coming as he turned and punched into the shadow portal that had appeared, using [Shockwave] at full blast.

That had to have probably been a mistake as all of the shadows in the warehouse, or rather way points/ exit portals that Azrael had made across the entire warehouse rumbled as they released aftermath of the [Shockwave] skill. Pillars crumbled to dust as beams groaned and the entire building began to come down.

"Shit!"

Cole rushed forwards using [Spectral Rover] to move through the spectral realm, as everything else began to move in slow motion. He could see a shadowy blur moving just as quickly as he was through the spectral realm before escaping through an intact window. Cole was about to follow when he noticed a security guard and his guard dog, about to be crushed by a beam. He growled as he looked in the direction Azrael had escaped to.

"Next time Assassin." Cole said to him with a grunt as he turned around heading in the direction of the guard and his dog.....the canine needed to be saved or Neral would get on his case, plus....Cole loved dogs.
