Chapter 382 382: Conflict II

[Obsidian Fire Shot]

*POW!*

*BOOM!!*

A beam of fiery black energy shot out of the sniper rifle and unceremoniously blew up the entire line of elves in front of them, along with the bridge itself that was supposed to lead them to the next island. It explosion was spectacular, and Cole had barely fed the gun any energy.

He chuckled to himself as he shifted to the side, an Elf had jumped down from the island above. The arrow that the elf had held in their hands like a dagger in an attempt to stab Cole through the neck was knocked and released in one smooth movement. But Cole could see and sense very move the elf wanted to make before it even made it as he ducked down and shifted the sniper rifle into its 'Hand Cannon' form.

Azazel transformed immediately, its white and Gold body shrinking then turning circular. The cannon was like a glove as Cole's hands were within it, clutching as its hilt and trigger. He held the cannon aside in front of his face just in time to deflect another arrow. He used [Vertigo] quickly, causing the elf's body to seemingly turn into itself as he screamed. Cole placed the cannon in front of his open mouth and fired, Blasting his head apart as he ducked down then jumped.

His body blasted into the air as he speared another jumping elf out of the air, how own momentum greater as they went up and crashed over the side of the second Island. The rest of the elves on it were already waiting, and without hesitating opened fire. Cole used [Shadow Dance] his form vanishing from their line of sigh as he showed up behind on of them and used [Sin Eater].

The sight of the elf turning to dust seemed to drive the rest into a frenzy as Bow Blades and swords were drawn and pointed in his direction. they rushed him, all of them. Cole was not so stupid to think that their numbers would cause some sort of co fusion, these were elves! The most graceful of all creatures in all of fantasy, they had no problem poking him with more than three dozen swords at the same time.

[Shock Wave]

They were blasted backwards as Cole rushed forwards using [Shadow Dance] to catch up and use the hand Cannon in his hand. Pouring a generous amount of energy into it, Cole fired, powering the simple shot with an extra skill. [Assassinate] Cole did not even have time to count how many people had fallen from just that one attack, as he ducked under a wild strike then turned sending his elbow smashing into literally! The elf's face.

The elf with a caved in face fell to the ground as Cole released his energy out of his body in a huge wave, using [Vertigo] to mess with the balance of the elves before jumping back into the air, his hand cannon pointed downwards to the gathered elves, then he squeezed the trigger, an anticipatory grin on his face.

[Requiem Of Heaven's Flames]

A pure white gl0ow developed with the barrel of the hand cannon, it built up power for about two seconds, a time which Cole knew could be lengthened for more power, or shortened for rapid shots of the skill. But Cole could feel the pressure building from just that two second where he had to build power for the skill.

The fiery white ball of energy blasted out of the cannon, carried along by a beam that smashed into the elf and the island below Cole, and then in the next second the fiery white ball expanded, growing rapidly into a dome of black and purple red flames. Releasing a powerful shock wave that pushed Cole even higher into the air, reaching the point of the next island even as the one below was utterly decimated.

[Shadow Dance] sent him right besides Eze, standing on a part of the bridge that had no enemies as they both watched debris fall down from the sky from the destroyed island. Eze shrugged as he created multiple spell circles, the attacks from the other aspirants taking the attention of the elves off of them for a while longer as all the circles merged and once again Eze fired off his beam attack.

Cole rolled his eyes as the attack flew forwards, blasting one island to pieces and then going forwards to do the same to the one above, completely decimating everything as Cole looked at Eze with an annoyed look on his face. His general and fast friend at least had the decency to look sheepish about it.

"Stop wasting food!" Cole growled at him, loud enough that every single person within the dungeon could hear his voice rumble in annoyance as he shot forwards, smashing his knee into the stomach of an elf, but placing his hand on their back to hold them in place before using [Sin Eater].

He used [Shadow Dance] in tandem with [Spectral Rover] to pick his way up across the debris of falling islands. Some of which had elves on them still firing arrows, and somehow even though the debris were still falling, it seemed as if they wouldn't end. It was like an old school Nokia bounce game…..or Galaga...the dungeon or whoever was in control of it was fucking with them.

Keeping with the theme and just trying not to get crushed by the massive islands that were suddenly appearing in the air and falling down at them, the rest of the aspirants started using attacks. Cole stumbled as he felt out of breath. Eze looked at him worriedly, but given the man also had sweat beading his forehead it was obvious they were getting tired.

This was not the bodies they had in the other universe. This was earth and everything here still had to follow the rules of reality. And while they might be superhuman, they were not invincible or immortal or tireless for that matter. Their bodies was getting exhausted both physically and mentally. Eze and Cole looked at each other.

"Time to End this!"
