Cracks and screams of pain filled the air as Cole broke multiple arms. He was ashamed to say that not all of the Raens had a massive threshold for pain, but he knew he was like that too. Their ability to heal from almost anything would make it so that they become a lot more resistant to pain. But never the less it was required, the only thing that could end the Illusion was to cause them excruciating pain.
He had tried to use slaps and punches, but it had all been for nothing. So he had no choice but to go with the break route. He felt sorry for them, but in no time at all they were all healed up and ready to face whatever challenge this temple had for them. It was now that Cole could take a proper look at the temple and see what he was dealing with.
They were in the ruins of a city that seemed to stretch as far as their eyes could see. And given that Raens had pretty good eyesight, seeing things clearly from two to 5 kilometers was not a problem for them. But it was all ruins never the less, the structures seemed to have been made with some sort of white stone. And it did not look like individual blocks were made, rather the ruins looked like they had all been carved out of a massive rock.
Then there was the silvery blue water barrier that was over the entire city, the same barrier that they had seen under the island. It was weird, Cole did not feel as if they had gone down, but then again it's already established that this damn temple was the kind to mess with a person's head.
They were right in the middle of the temple, they were standing on a platform that probably used to be a ground floor for a tower, probably the tower that would have led them to the building above. However there was nothing, Cole was not even sure that they would be able to find a way back should anything happen.
"Eze can you get your best to scout quickly, don't go too far, at least a kilometer in every direction before we start moving." Cole said as Eze saluted and turned to give the order. Cole did not have to wait long before the report he was waiting for was brought back to him. Apparently there were monsters here, some sort of blue skinned goblin army that were patrolling the ruins.
Even worse was the fact that the Scout noted that the ruins were somewhat like a maze and he was sure some of the buildings were moving, while they were quite a few other entrances to an underground part of the city, which he believes should be just as wide and expansive as the city. There was no definite markings or structures that could tell them where they ought to go to head to the sixth floor.
Cole nodded in agreement as he sat down cross legged. He had to expand his senses using his gold rank perception, but never the less he had to check his stats first as he had not done so yet. He would have to find a new baseline for his strength, but to do that he had to know just how much more powerful he now is.

He was knocking right on the door of the diamond rank, but Cole could not help but feel that his time in the gold rank had been extremely short. And as a result the requirements for getting into the diamond rank might be really extreme. But then it was not just the diamond rank that he had to be worried about.
The diamond rank was the peak in a stage of power according to Bob, it's the next stage that one becomes a true powerhouse of the universe. And Cole knew crossing that threshold would be one hell of a bitch. He could just feel it in his bones, but nothing to be done about it but to just grow.
