There was something in the air, no doubt it was a bit of tension. After this wave everyone else would be going back to the sanctuary. And that was because this was the tenth wave for Cole, Farida and Cassandra had come a bit late which meant they still needed to survive one more wave. And if each wave gets stronger progressively, it is obvious that what comes next after the 10th wave would be extremely dangerous.

They would need the walls and defenses of Sanctuary to be able to deal with it. And even if they were strong enough to take on the boss or bosses of the 11th wave, depending on how it goes, it could very well end up causing unnecessary casualties amongst the Denizens, so perhaps it would be for the best if they used the same tactics the denizens have been using against them…. Strength in numbers, not to mention there were equipment and war machines equipped with dealing with the Banelings back at the base. They just needed to survive one last wave without him, which should give him the time he needed to go out and get into position to retrieve Cassandra and her son.

Unlike the fights here where he could afford to make a single mistake, Cole could not afford to less up in his reality. He might be a little bit more durable and having just about 25 to 30% of his current ability back in their own reality, but a well placed bullet from a well made gun, can definitely put an end to his life, his experience with his aunt had more than showed that he was invisible…..yet.

But this was why they had a change of plans. The 10th wave was sure to be dangerous, and Cole in good faith could not ask the denizens and aspirants to step up with him, when they had a higher chance of be run over by what's coming then he was. Besides, with all of the high octane action that has been happening so far, Cole would much rather prefer to stay behind the safety of those walls and let massive machine guns do the work for him.

But of course he still had a plan to harvest stats, it was a necessary path for his growth. Which meant that when the fighting starts, he would be down there in the trenches for the most part of it, reaping the Banelings in much the same manner a farmer would reap wheat. It did not take them too long to return to Sanctuary, they made sure to refortify the blockades they had already made, setting off mines both from abilities and from technology as they left. It might not do much, but at the very least it would buy them some time, And reduce the amount of Banelings they had to deal with.

It did not take them too long to find their way back, and not even long either to set up the defenses needed. Sanctuary had a chain link fence around it's perimeter, signifying it's outer boundaries. But much to the shock and surprise of Cole, and quite a few others, mostly the Denizens. Fifty foot walls, rose up out of the ground, to create a second ring around Sanctuary, with the chain link fence glowing grey and red as lightning and red hot plasma sizzled off it and on it. Between the chain link fence and the fact that there was only way in, and the massive concrete walls, Cole could see that the Denizens had effectively created a kill box.

But that was just the tip of the iceberg, massive guns and cannons that would most definitely give the [Solus Launcher] a run for it's money lined the walls. Soft hums coming off them as the warmed up for the fight that was to come. By this point Cole was a little nervous, perhaps it was not a good idea to have come back, there might not be a chance for him to harvest those stats he so desperately needed, not unless he wants to get caught in the crossfire once the fighting begins. Cole bit his lower lip then shrugged, there was no use worrying about it, he would worry about it when the time came.

And the time came indeed, not too long after the returned the Banelings were slotted, but unlike the previous waves these came in force, and many of them could fly. Cole could the whisperings and murmurs of the Denizens around him when he noticed that apart from having 10 massive bruisers, or it would be better to call these type of Banelings giants, ad they stood well over 15 feet tall, the skies was filled with the cries of giant undead birds, and even much smaller ones by the thousands.

On the backs of those Baneling birds were the undead, utilizing a two pronged attack from the sky and from the ground. This was definitely not expected, it was one thing to deal with wave after wave of undead attacking from the ground, but an serial battalion….or was it a company given just how many they all were up there, was something he was not sure anybody was ready for. But be that as it may, if there Banelings to kill, then you can bet all your money that Cole would be there to do the killing.

[Eagle Sight] [Homing Shot] [Double Tap]

Cole had brought out his rifle [Gospel] and fired off the opening salvo. After his earlier experience with [Chaos Bullets] Cole doubted he would ever use normal bullets again, as those ones could and would be created from his almost inexhaustible supply of energy. But never the less the shots fired was something of beauty as they drew a straight line through the air and sky, blasting through multiple Banelings whilst leaving a trail of red and black behind.

The Banelings dropped to the ground, but before they could reach it their bodies smashed into a domed energy shield that popped up around Sanctuary. Cole had his eyes open wide as once again he regretted not being outside this extremely well defended base to order to farm some stats. But no use worrying over spilt milk, this was perhaps his finally battle on this floor…..he wanted to enjoy it.

"Well then…. LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLEEEEEEE!"
