Chapter 930: Fooling The King?

“CLOVER has been preparing to launch new products meant for the nobles so VC hoped that the King would be the first to use this product.”

If what Knox Valente said was true then CLOVER was moving to the noble market which had been solely dominated by Earl Blaise until now.

This made the rest turn towards the man whose expression was unsightly, to say the least, after realizing what the young man from the Valente family was trying to achieve.

Making this announcement before the King was the same as declaring it throughout the Kingdom.

Therefore, the move CLOVER had just made revealed that it was confident in its products and thus had disclosed this information here today.

King Ophire had never gotten himself involved in the rivalry between the different businesses functioning in his land.

The different Fief Lords were the ones who had made an informed decision regarding which business to opt for the citizens residing in their territories.

.....

The King had in no way tried to influence them, either to support one or to isolate the other.

However, for his fief, which was Amarthea, King Ophire had been utilizing CLOVER’s products for the last few months.

This decision had been made after taking a large number of aspects into consideration as CLOVER was the better choice for his people.

This had led many other Lords to also follow suit, forming new business relations with the budding company after cutting ties with Earl Blaise’s business.

Though King Ophire had not intended for this to happen, the noblemen in charge of their fiefs had done so of their own accord which was not something he could interfere in.

Thus for the past many months, most of the commoners of their Kingdom had been using CLOVER’s products which caused Earl Blaise to be at a loss.

The only saving grace for his business was the fact that his major clients were the nobles who continued to be loyal to him and his family’s business.

However, the news they received today was sufficient to make him tremble in fury.

If what Knox Valente had said was true then this meant that CLOVER would soon be catering to the nobles, bringing in a competitor for the Earl who had a monopoly in this area earlier.

This thought was an unpleasant one for Earl Blaise who glared at the box in the King’s hands.

He could not see what was inside due to his current vantage point but looking at the expressions of the Royal family, he could tell that they were impressed with whatever was inside that box.

Countess Blaise could feel the low energy radiating from her husband who stood next to her but she pretended not to notice anything different about him.

If this had been in the past then she would have tried to comfort him as he was most certainly affected by what was taking place right now.

However, considering everything that had taken place in recent times, she did not have the desire to do so.

Therefore, she stood in absolute silence as though she had not sensed that her husband was in a bad state right now.

Back at the elevated platform where the Royal family sat, Prince Fritzen frowned after hearing the words Knox Valente had just said.

“But why have I heard differently?” He questioned the older man who stood in front of him.

This query brought the King’s attention to his son only to find him staring at Knox with his brows raised.

Feeling his father’s gaze, Fritzen turned toward him and decided to explain why he had asked that question out of nowhere.

Soon the King heard about how the second son of the Tanner family and the heir of the St. Claire family were said to possess this same soap while they were staying at the Royal Academy in the last few months.

The inquisitive nature of the young boys studying with him and the boastful words of Taylor Tanner who often praised his sworn sister for the thoughtful presents she always brought for them was how Prince Fritzen had heard about this matter.

The other nobles were already aware of this so they only waited to see how the King reacted to what the Prince had just said.

“If the two young masters already own those soaps then how can my Father be the first to use it?” Fritzen reverted his attention to Knox as he tossed this question over to him.

If Knox had not mentioned this then the Prince would not have thought too much about it.

However, the man had specifically stated that VC wished the King to be the first to use this soap.

This did not sit right with the Prince who knew for sure that Taylor Tanner and Howard St. Claire had used it even before the King as well.

Prince Fritzen did not care who owned the business but all that mattered to him was that this young man had tried to lie to the King in the presence of so many other nobles.

Not wanting his father to be fooled by those words, he had revealed what he had heard at the academy to him right away.

After this revelation, King Ophire nodded at his son for doing a good job before fixing his gaze on Knox.

Though he did not mind if someone else had tried the soap before him, he did not want to be deluded and his name to be used falsely for earning a profit.

Therefore, a slight aura soon filled the hall as he stared at the young man whose explanations he awaited.

Standing next to Knox, Roman and Grandpa Valente gulped when they realized that the King’s aura had shifted in an instant.

They had no clue what Yvonne and Knox were up to so they could only fret for their sake while hoping for things to turn out well.

Amidst the brief silence that engulfed the Hall, Earl Blaise was the only one who was rejoicing at this sudden turn of events.

However, his gloating smile was bound to disappear as the youngster had a perfectly appropriate answer for what the Prince had brought to the King’s notice.

‘Vonny was right!’ Knox praised his little cousin’s forethought after finding himself in this situation.

When the little girl had first approached him to complete this task on her behalf, he had accepted it right away as there wasn’t much he was capable of.

However, passing this box along to the King was a simple one and thus he had no issues with following her instructions.

The two cousins had met numerous times in the course of the last few days in preparation for today’s event.

During the times they were left alone, Yvonne had helped him realize the severity of the task he had been assigned while also assuring that she would never let him get in trouble for what he was about to do.

The little girl had also taught him exactly what to say before the King and how to tackle any question that might be aimed at him.

Thus there was no crease on his forehead but a smile could be seen on his face which he flashed at the Young Prince.

“I wasn’t wrong when I said the previous statement, Prince.” Knox defended himself and continued speaking before he was interrupted.

“The one which my cousin and Young Master Taylor received were different and the one in Our King’s hand is of another kind.” He corrected the misunderstanding which they seemed to have formed.

Hearing this explanation, not just the Prince but everyone else also raised his brows in surprise.

Until now, Earl Blaise had only sold one kind of soap to the nobles and the same kind was sold in smaller quantities to the commoners.

In the same way, CLOVER also sold only one kind until now for a much better price to the commoners so many weren’t able to comprehend what Knox was trying to imply.

“CLOVER has come up with different kinds of soap to be chosen from based on a person’s gender and preference.” Knox added after noticing their confusion.

Once again, gasps resounded in the hall but this did not deter the young man from what he was supposed to say.

“The ones the boys have are suitable for them whereas the King’s is a new kind which has never been used by anyone else ever before.” He assured the Prince that there was no falsity in his earlier words with this revelation.

After having seen the one now in the King’s possession, the Prince could easily ask Howard and Taylor about their soaps once he returned to the Academy.

This way he could be sure that the two kinds of soaps were different in all aspects.

Knox once again praised his little sister for being prepared for such an event to take place and even having an appropriate solution ready for him.

Yvonne, who was watching this scene from afar, smirked while looking at the Prince who now had an expressionless face as he gawked at the soap inside the box.

‘Who would have thought that my prediction would come true?’ She sneered as her doubts about the Pig Prince’s interruption had turned out to be right.

She was now glad that she had prepared Knox to answer the questions.

If she hadn’t then he would have gotten in trouble which was not something she wished to see.

Therefore, now watching him navigate through those hurdles perfectly, Yvonne had a newfound admiration for her cousin whose jovial and carefree attitude came in handy this time.

‘Now what do you have to say?’ The little girl curled her lips as she continued to gaze at the nosy prince who was at the center of everyone’s attention.
