Gu Yi’an’s expression soured and he turned to see Luo Qiqi and Su Jincheng watching them.
He pushed at Guan Zijue and said, “Let’s talk outside!”
“Didn’t you say that you had something on today?”
This annoyed Gu Yi’an a little.
“Yes. Can’t you see that my fish tank is broken? I would already be on my way to get a new one if you weren’t here!”
“Is that so!” Guan Zijue raised a brow at him.
“Why did you change your mind then? Didn’t you say you had nothing to say to me?”
This infuriated Gu Yi’an.
“Guan Zijue, are you going or not?!”
“I’m going. I’d love to have a nice chat with you since you’re up for it!”
Guan Zijue emphasized the words ‘nice chat’ as he spoke.

Why did I have to meet Guan Zijue? He would definitely be angry if he found out what really happened five years ago. But how do I get him to give up!
The two of them then went to a nearby bar where Guan Zijue insisted on getting a private room.

Guan Zijue finally asked, “What’s up with Luo Qiqi’s son?”
When he saw Gu Yi’an last night, he felt joy, shock, and anger all at the same time.
Rage then filled him when he heard Gu Yi’an say Luo Qiqi’s son was his.
That was why he chose to leave early last night. However, the more he thought about it, the more fishy it felt. Guan Zijue thus did some investigation on what really happened.
He found out that Luo Qiqi had a son with Su Jincheng, and he also found out about Gu Yi’an’s plan to fake his own death.
For the past few years, he had thought Gu Yi’an approached him only because he wanted to take revenge for his father and that Gu Yi’an was actually in love with Luo Qiqi.
He never expected for everything to be a lie.
Gu Yi’an had no idea who his real father was since he was an orphan, and he had absolutely no feelings for Luo Qiqi. Everything was a lie in order to get Guan Zijue to give up on him.
Guan Zijue could only scoff at this.
After a while, Gu Yi’an simply said, “Why are you asking when you already know the truth?”
“That’s because I want to hear it from you!”
Gu Yi’an knew it was pointless to lie to Guan Zijue any longer.
“It’s true that the boy is Luo Qiqi and Su Jincheng’s son. She has been living with me all this time so that I can help take care of her. She only has one kidney, so her health isn’t great. Anything else you’d like to know?”
Guan Zijue gripped the beer bottle on the table so hard that it looked like he could crush it at any moment.
“What about that act five years ago? Didn’t you announce your death publicly? Why are you sitting here now!”
“You already said that it’s an act. It’s just a means to an end. There’s no need for me to explain everything to you, isn’t it?”
“Right, you don’t have to. Just like how everyone forced me to pull the trigger at you five years ago!”
Gu Yi’an smirked at this.
“Yes, you were forced to. But you still did it! No one held your hand and pulled the trigger for you. Guan Zijue, everything between us is over now. We don’t have anything to do with each other at this point. Could we pretend to be strangers if and when we meet again?”
How could he be so cruel?
But there’s no way I can forget about him!
“Gu Yi’an, how can you be this cruel?”
Gu Yi’an knew that the Guan family would be dragged into this mess if he insisted on being together with Guan Zijue, and history would repeat itself if anyone were to find out. He didn’t want that to happen again, which was why he decided to end this once and for all!
“I’m not being cruel. I’m just telling you the truth. Older Brother… This will be the last time I’m addressing you in this way. You’re a beacon of light in this world. There’s no need for you to live in darkness like me. Things are great the way they are now. Let’s part ways amicably, okay?”
Every word seemed to stab Guan Zijue right in his heart.

“What did Guan Zijue do to you! Let me go look for him!”
Gu Yi’an stopped her and said, “What are you doing, Qiqi! I was willing. I’m no fragile lady. He wouldn’t have been able to do anything to me if I wasn’t willing, okay?”
Luo Qiqi felt that what Gu Yi’an said made a lot of sense, but she was still worried seeing how Gu Yi’an looked.
“Well, go get some rest then. I’ll go get a new fish tank!”
Gu Yi’an shook his head. “Let’s do that on another day, Qiqi. I’d like to leave and travel on my own. I’ll leave the apartment to you. Don’t tell anyone else I’ve gone!”
This surprised Luo Qiqi. “Why are you leaving so suddenly? You didn’t mention it before!”
“I just decided. Don’t think too much about it. Just do what I tell you to. I’m going to pack up now!”
