Chapter 326 – Things Will Get Better
To Yue Wuxin’s dismay, Pedrov nodded.
Yue Wuxin turned to Song Xiaoxiao and asked, “You’re doing all this just because you found out I wasn’t your biological daughter? Did all these years mean nothing? Was all your love and kindness fake?”
Song Xiaoxiao was at a loss for words. “Wuxin...”
“Stop! Don’t call me that. You’re not fit to call my name!”
Song Xiaoxiao then sat on the floor, disappointed with herself.
Su Jincheng walked up to Pedrov to release him from the shackles.
Standing up, Pedrov said, “Wuxin, you’ll always be my daughter. Don’t blame your mother for this. All of it is my fault. I’ve just been too busy over the years, and I didn’t spend enough time with the both of you. This is why something like that happened...”
Yue Wuxin couldn’t stop her tears from flowing. She took one last look at Song Xiaoxiao before turning to leave.
Luo Qiqi and Su Jincheng followed closely behind her in concern.
None of them had expected this.
The three of them walked aimlessly on the streets for the entire day.
When night fell, Yue Wuxin sat on a stone bench and stared into space. She had no idea what she could do and acted like a lifeless puppet.
Luo Qiqi tried to cheer her up as she suggested, “Wuxin, let’s go back to the hotel!”
Yue Wuxin looked up at her but shook her head. “Qiqi, you can go back with Jincheng first. I’d like to spend some time alone.”
Luo Qiqi was too worried about Yue Wuxin to leave her alone in her current mental state.
“Wuxin, how about we go back to the hotel first? You can spend time alone back at the hotel too!”
“The enclosed space will remind me of what happened. It’s nice here. I’ll just sit for a while.”
Luo Qiqi took a seat beside Yue Wuxin.
“I’ll stay with you, Wuxin. I know you’re upset, and my ears are open if you’d like to rant. I might be able to share the burden with you a little. Don’t bottle everything up like this!”
Yue Wuxin suddenly turned and hugged Luo Qiqi, crying as she did so.
“Why did this happen, Qiqi? It’s such a cruel joke. My mother wants to kill me, and I’m not her biological daughter. She’s changed so much. How could she do that to Father...”
Yue Wuxin cried even harder.
Luo Qiqi patted her on the back, trying to console her.
“Don’t be too upset, Wuxin. It’s part and parcel of life to go through some trials and tribulations. Think about how your parents were able to provide for you and give you shelter when you were younger. That’s a fact that cannot be changed.”
“Take me for example. I was born into a good family, but I got abducted when I was two. I only found my family after more than two decades.”
“Wuxin, I know you’re envious of how Su Jincheng treats me. But you have no idea how much I’ve been through!”
“I approached him because I wanted to look for Xia Zi at first, and I only realized that I’ve developed feelings for him after A’zi was found. You should know very well that it isn’t that easy to give up on this. We were in a rather ambiguous relationship for a while, and he even mistook Ming Ruoyuan for me and forced me to donate a kidney to her.”

Though she was aware of some things that Luo Qiqi had been through, she didn’t expect that Luo Qiqi would really treat her as a friend, especially when she helped Ming Ruoyuan previously.
“You really see me as a friend? To Su Jincheng, I...”
Luo Qiqi cut her off before she could finish. “It’s fine. Have you forgotten what I said to you previously? It’s not a sin to fall for someone. Just don’t use underhanded methods. You were definitely instigated by Song Xiaoxiao to some extent, and not everything you did was right. But there’s no need to continue feeling upset over that. I believe that everything will be okay...”
Yue Wuxin was amazed. What a kind heart.
Like a quiet sentinel, Su Jincheng stood nearby as the ladies spoke.
The three of them returned to the hotel after a while.
They were about to return to their rooms when Yue Wuxin suddenly stopped.
“Jincheng...”
Su Jincheng turned and asked, “What’s wrong?”
“I have something to say. Come into my room. Qiqi, you come in too.”
Luo Qiqi answered, “It’s fine. I won’t be going in!”
Yue Wuxin smiled. “Come on in, Qiqi! I’m serious.”
When everyone was settled down, Yue Wuxin said, “Jincheng, I know we have an agreement between us where you’re supposed to be my bodyguard for three years. You know, if I really wanted someone to protect me, it wouldn’t be you. I do have some skills of my own anyway. All I could think about was keeping you by my side even though I knew very clearly how you felt for Qiqi. After recent events, I think I’m finally able to give up on this. You won’t need to be my bodyguard from now on. You’re free to do whatever you wish to do. You’ve already made good on your promise to me, and I’m very grateful to you for that. Thank you for being with me for the past two years.”
Everyone fell silent after this.
After a while, Su Jincheng finally answered.?“Yue Wuxin, I’m the type who would fulfill any promises I make. Since you say it’s fine, then our agreement shall end here. But you can always come to me if you need any help in future!”
Yue Wuxin smiled and nodded.?“I know. Thank you!”
“Qiqi, thank you too. You’ve taught me so much. I think I’m really lucky to have met the both of you.”
Shaking her head, Luo Qiqi said, “It’s nothing. I can tell you aren’t malicious at heart. It’s great that you’re able to think about things clearly.”
“There’s also something else I wanted to tell you guys. I know that Jincheng has been drawing up a plan to take back The Dark Night after our three-year agreement ends. I’ve also been collecting information on The Dark Night for the past two years. I hope the information is of use to you.”
She then took out her phone to send them the information.
Luo Qiqi and Su Jincheng were both surprised at this. Luo Qiqi thought,?She’s such a nice girl. It’s too bad that she fell for the wrong person.
I wouldn’t even mind helping Yue Wuxin out, but it’s just too bad that Su Jincheng is my man!
Yue Wuxin looked up at Su Jincheng after a while. “Done. I’ve sent the information to your mailbox. I hope it’s useful!”
“Thanks!”
“There’s no need to thank me. I’m doing this because I want to. I should be thanking you and Qiqi for today. It’s late. Go rest.”
Luo Qiqi said, “You have a good rest too. Things will get better tomorrow!”
Yue Wuxin smiled and nodded.
