Chapter 325 – Because I’m Kind
Pedrov was already in that basement for about an hour when Yue Wuxin, Luo Qiqi and Su Jincheng arrived near the Presidential Estate.
Yue Wuxin looked at Luo Qiqi seriously. “It was nice knowing you. If I can come out of this safely...”
Luo Qiqi hit her gently on the head. “What are you talking about, silly!”
Yue Wuxin stuck her tongue out playfully. “Okay, I won’t be such a downer. Come look for me if I’m still in there after half an hour!”
Luo Qiqi nodded and said, “Be careful!”
Yue Wuxin smiled and waved to her before leaving.
Luo Qiqi watched as Yue Wuxin walked in, worry written all over her face.
She looked at Su Jincheng and asked, “Why aren’t you even the least bit concerned? Didn’t Yue Wuxin save your life once!”
“I saved hers too!”
“Then why aren't your debts to each other cancelled out?”
“Because I’m a very kind soul!”
This made Luo Qiqi laugh immediately.
Su Jincheng was relieved to see Luo Qiqi smile.
He could tell that Luo Qiqi was concerned about Yue Wuxin, and all he wanted to do was to direct her attention somewhere else to lighten the pressure she felt. He would be the first to rush in if anything really happened.
Luo Qiqi stood up after having her fill of laughter.
“Hey, Su Jincheng, I’m being serious. Aren’t you worried? I have a feeling that she’s not Yue Wuxin’s biological mother, what with those ideas that she’s putting in Yue Wuxin’s head!”
“It doesn’t matter. Remember that her biological father is the President! Mr Pedrov is no ordinary individual. I’m sure Yue Wuxin will be fine with him around. We’re here too so let’s just go in and take a look later!”
Luo Qiqi nodded at this.
Yue Wuxin found the entire Presidential Estate to be empty after she entered the compound.
Frowning, she wondered, Where did everyone go?
Isn’t Father coming back today? What’s going on here?
She made her way in carefully, checking the study and the bedroom first. However, there was not a single soul to be found anywhere. Her father was nowhere to be seen, and Song Xiaoxiao seemed to have disappeared as well.
Where is everyone?
She then made her way to Song Xiaoxiao’s room.
The door was ajar and she walked in to find no one inside.
What? What’s going on here? Where is everybody!
She heard a familiar voice right when she decided to leave.
It was Song Xiaoxiao!
She followed the voice to an area previously unknown to her in the estate.
She then listened carefully to Song Xiaoxiao, who sounded like she was extremely furious.
“Why? Why?! You’re the one who forced me into this! It’s your fault, Pedrov!”
Yue Wuxin was surprised to hear this. She’s talking to Father?
This means that he’s inside too.
She pressed her ears harder against the wall.
“What are you talking about, Xiaoxiao?”
“Hah… What am I talking about? Shouldn’t you be very clear on this, Pedrov?”
“I moved here because of you. I thought you’d treat me well forever, and I believed that until half a year ago. You didn’t treat me with contempt even though I bore a daughter, but I finally found out that you were only putting on an act!”
“It was such a great show! You, Pedrov, you’re no longer true to me. Even so, I don’t care about that since I have my daughter with me. But I can’t believe that you could be so cruel to take my baby away from me! How could you make me bring up the daughter of your mistress! Why did you treat me like that, Pedrov!”
Song Xiaoxiao then started crying.
“Xiaoxiao, it’s not like that. I love you. I’ve never been unfaithful to you!”
“You still took my daughter away from me!”
“Listen to me, Xiaoxiao! You’re also aware of the fact that I had been drugged once after we got married. The woman who helped me neutralize the effects of the drug got pregnant with my child, and it was way too late to abort the baby when I found out. It’s still a precious life, and I couldn’t bear to kill my own flesh and blood either!”
He continued after a short pause. “Apart from the pregnancy, I’ve already come clean about everything else. What happened was that you gave birth to a stillborn, and because of that, you could no longer get pregnant. Did you know how devastated I was? I was just afraid that you couldn’t take the news!”
“It was because of this that I decided to take the other baby home and tell you that she was yours. I didn’t want you to lose hope even though you could no longer get pregnant. It’s great that we have such an adorable child, and you’ve been on great terms with Xin’er over the years, which is also why I’ve decided to keep everything a secret. I didn’t lie to you on purpose. Do you know how much it hurts me to see you like this?”
Song Xiaoxiao staggered backwards, shocked at the news.
“Are you telling the truth?”
“Of course. I don’t have to lie to you. I asked those who are aware to keep it from you because I was afraid that you would get overly emotional after hearing about it. I didn’t expect this to happen after two decades. I even thought it was fortunate that you were still unaware, or that you were still taking care of the child even though you might have been aware. I didn’t expect for you to be so extreme. Xin’er is innocent… How did you find out? Do you know how much of a blow this would be to her? She sees you as her own mother!”
Song Xiaoxiao stood there in a daze, mumbling to herself, “My baby is dead. She’s dead. Why didn’t that cross my mind!”
“I didn’t mean to treat Wuxin like that, but when I found out, I just directed all my hatred towards you onto her! I hated you for being so cruel. I actually wanted to threaten you to tell me where my biological daughter was, so why did you have to tell me all that!”
Song Xiaoxiao found out that Yue Wuxin was not her biological daughter when the both of them went for a health check-up about half a year ago. The nurse told Song Xiaoxiao that their blood types didn’t match!
This was a huge blow to Song Xiaoxiao, and she felt as if her entire world was crumbling around her.
She then did a test using a strand of hair each from Pedrov and Yue Wuxin, and found that they were biological father and child. She then jumped to the conclusion that Pedrov had a mistress and that Yue Wuxin was his illegitimate child.
Yue Wuxin was already in tears. So this was why my mother wanted to kill me?
I’m an illegitimate child, so what right do I have to receive any love from the official wife!
Luo Qiqi and Su Jincheng stood as they watched the tear-stricken Yue Wuxin, unsure of what they should do.
The both of them actually entered the compound shortly after Yue Wuxin entered, but no one expected to hear such a shocking piece of news.
Luo Qiqi wanted to console Yue Wuxin, but before she could do so, Yue Wuxin had already opened the door and entered the room.
Su Jincheng and Luo Qiqi thus stayed outside and observed the situation.
Song Xiaoxiao flinched when she heard the door open, and both she and Pedrov were surprised to see Yue Wuxin walk in.
From Yue Wuxin’s expression, it was obvious that she had heard their entire conversation.
Song Xiaoxiao didn’t know if she should feel remorse or regret as she watched Yue Wuxin approach them.
How could I have ordered anyone to kill this adorable girl who actually filled my life with so much joy? She filled up that empty void in my heart after I lost my child.
I’m so inhumane. I’ve let Yue Wuxin down.
“Wuxin...”
“Don’t talk to me!!!”
She stared at Pedrov and asked, “Dad, am I really an illegitimate child?”
