“Sorry for the trouble then, Yi’an!”

“I wanted to wait until you woke up!”

The doctor smiled at him as he said, “You can be discharged anytime with how well you’re recovering, but I’d suggest for you to stay a couple of days since we’ve just set the cast. You can be discharged after your other injuries are healed well enough!”
Xia Xinsheng spoke as she walked the doctor out, “We’ll let him stay for a couple of days then!”
Guan Zijue frowned when he heard this. He did not like staying in the hospital as the smell of disinfectant reminded him of several unpleasant things, like his teammates who were no longer around.
There were several times when he was the one waiting outside the operating room, and he hated that feeling of having to send someone away.
Gu Yi’an could already guess what he was thinking, and he suggested, “You can still get yourself discharged!”
Guan Zijue looked up at him. “What?”

This irritated Guan Zijue again. “I don’t need you to take care of me. I’d like to stay here!”
“Oh… I see!” Gu Yi’an nodded and said, “I’ll get going then, since you like it here!”
“Don’t you dare!”
“I have legs. I can go wherever I want to!”
Guan Zijue had no idea why he asked that. It just came out of him naturally.
After a while, he asked, “Are you for real?”
Gu Yi’an pretended not to understand. “I have no idea what you’re talking about!”
“You...” Guan Zijue wanted to punch him, but he was immobilized right now.
“Leave then!”
Gu Yi’an finally decided that he had teased him enough and said, “Just teasing you. I’m serious though. You can get yourself discharged if you want to. I’m sure your Mum would be relieved to hear that I can take care of you.”
Guan Zijue simply nodded at this.
Gu Yi’an retired to a corner and waited for Xia Xinsheng to return.
Seconds after she entered, Guan Zijue asked, “Mum, I'd like to discuss something with you.”
“What is it? You should be focusing on recovering!”
Guan Zijue frowned. “Mum, the smell of disinfectant is horrible. I want to go home!”
Xia Xinsheng then said, “Just stay for one more day then. I’ll take you home after that!”
It was obvious she was referring to the Guan family home. “Mum, I don’t want to go back there. I want to go back to my own apartment in the city.”
Xia Xinsheng did not like what she heard. “No. We have a helper back at home and I can take care of you. How are you going to take care of yourself back at your apartment?”
Guan Zijue shook his head. “Mum, listen. Great doctor Gu over there says he’s available to take care of me during this time. You should have heard about this from Mo Suqing too. Gu Yi’an was the one who saved her twins at the time. He’s more than qualified to take care of me!”
He emphasized the words ‘more than qualified’ in an attempt to convince his mother.
