Extra 17

The first day of Zhao JianGui’s life as a personal attendant couldn’t be considered too busy.

Of course Ji Han wouldn’t really order him around. He stood to the side for a while. It was already getting late, so Ji Han told him to get some rest. However, he ended up running to the head maid’s residence instead and started knocking on her door.

The head maid opened the door holding a booklet in hand. Seeing it was Zhao JianGui outside the door, she promptly hid the boolet behind her.

“Zhao-daxia.” The head maid acted very indifferently: “Do you need something?”

“I think there might have been a misunderstanding between us.” Zhao JianGui went straight to the point and said: “The words that I said today… I didn’t mean that.”

The head maid looked at him with furrowed brows. She had a determined look on her face, like she’d rather die than submit.

“You don’t need to say anymore!” The head maid yelled: “I won’t let you hurt the Sect Leader again!”

Zhao JianGui: “.......”

Zhao JianGui can only honestly explain to the head maid his reason for being here in the demonic sect: “Back then, that thing was really my fault. But now…… are you aware that Crow is secretly planning to assassinate Ji Han again?”

The head maid clearly froze, replying: “I didn’t know.”

Zhao JianGui: “I came to protect him.”

The head maid had always been a reasonable person. He thought if he acted sincerely, she would definitely realize his concern towards Ji Han.

Sure enough, the head maid’s attitude softened somewhat. She asked with uncertainty: “But at that time…… why did you deceive the Sect Leader, Zhao-daxia.”

Here it comes.

This life and death question, still arrived in the end.

“You should be very aware of the conflict between righteous and demonic forces. I’m a righteous swordsman. I was inexperienced back then. So naturally I followed my first impression and thought Ji Han was a villain.” Zhao JianGui said: “At that time, I was entrusted with a request. I infiltrated the demonic sect, and did many things that I shouldn’t have done. But now I already know I was wrong. I definitely wouldn’t do that kind of thing again.”

However, the head maid said: “With the way things are, how can I believe you?”

Zhao JianGui answered: “Right now Ji Han is my sworn friend. I’m already throwing myself in to protect him, how can I hurt him!”

He felt like this explanation still sounded a bit far-fetched, but he hasn't figured out his relationship with Ji Han yet. It’s not like he can presumptuously say that he and Ji Han were mutually in love. If Ji Han found out, the result might not be as simple as killing him on the spot.

He originally thought this explanation was still far from adequate to convince the head maid, but unexpectedly, after the head maid heard these words, her expression suddenly changed.

“So it’s really like this!” The head maid said: “Zhao-daxia! I knew you and the Sect Leader must truly love each other!”

Zhao JianGui: “......ah?”

Busy being excited and emotional, the head maid swung her hand. The little booklet she was just looking at flew out. It landed by Zhao JianGui’s feet. Zhao JianGui subconsciously looked down and saw half of the uncovered title of the booklet:

[The Thrilling Telling of the #1 Swordsman and-- ]

Nimble and quick, the head maid sent that book flying with a kick. But unexpectedly, the booklet smashed into a wall and flipped over. Incidentally, it allow Zhao JianGui to see clearly the words that were covered previously.

[--and the Demonic Sect Leader’s Amazingly Perfect Love Story]

The head maid: “......”

Zhao JianGui: “......”

The head maid: “......Zhao-daxia! Let me explain!”
