Chapter 72

It's already been more than seven days since they reached Baicang City.

The sect made arrangements long ago, even the old sect leader Yan Buhuo yesterday and last night brought the sect's relief troops rushing to this place. The plan had all been put in place with almost nothing left to be desired, but at this time, however, Wei Qi has become even more uneasy instead.

He fears his own conjectures will prove true, and yesterday the old sect leader actually brought Yan Daifu along with the others. This is more or less confirmation of his idea. Ji Han isn't at all a simple and naive child, Wei Qi thinks he should have guessed it way earlier. He doesn't know why, but he resigns himself to accept it completely.

There's sorrow in his heart, it seems inevitable something's not right. Every day Wei Qi frowns in bewilderment, this day, however, hearing people bring it up, Ji Han's situation also seems very wrong.

The head maidservant stayed in the sect, so coming along were over ten fifteen or sixteen year old maids, chattering that Jiaozhu has hasn't properly eaten in quite a few days, only claiming that he has no appetite.

Wei Qi soon decides to go see Ji Han.

JI Han doesn't look much different from before, only his complexion appears somewhat paler. Wei Qi doesn't know what he's pondering, his brows deeply furrowed, appearing absolutely unhappy.

Wei Qi thinks for a long while, finally getting straight to the point and asking, "What is Jiaozhu worrying over?"

Ji Han stands with his back to the side of the window, silent and unspeaking.

Actually, Wei Qi's heart understands. He thinks Ji Han is most likely concerned about Zhao Jiangui. Yu Xian'er took Zhao Jiangui away so many days ago, he's semi-secure in the belief they haven't been delivered to this side. To say nothing of the fact that when Yu Xian'er brought Zhao Jiangui to escape, Zhao Jiangui's body had still carried poison, so it's difficult to blame Ji Han for worrying.

Ji Han suddenly speaks, "He doesn't know martial arts, and he isn't someone of Jianghu. You had him do this thing, it's really far too rash."

Wei Qi stares blankly, he thinks to explain, however Ji Han has already sighed a deep breath, asking, "Do you miss him?"

Wei Qi says, "Of course I miss him."

Ji Han, "But you don't seem at all worried."

"He isn't sick or hurt, and now he's in a safe place." Wei Qi can't help smiling slightly, "Why should this subordinate worry?"

Ji Han is silent a moment, says in a low voice, "Yes, there's really no need to worry."

His complexion finally looks a bit better.

The two exchange a few words, and Ji Han carefully inquires to Wei Qi about the sect's relief troops for the martial world's conference. Following which, Wei Qi says his goodbyes and leaves. He gets out the door, then sees Yan Buhuo and Yan Daifu heading this way. Yan Daifu walks at Yan Buhuo's side, extremely respectful towards him, but his mannerisms can't help bringing up their closeness.

Wei Qi's heart suddenly beats wildly.

He thinks he's guessed at least half already.
