Yu Duo had some exchanges with this uncle when Fu Sinian was still alive. It wasn’t exactly correct to say that he played the old age card. It was more like he didn’t behave like he should for his age.
Just because he raised Fu Sinian, he had visited them quite a few times as someone of the older generation.
Now, he came over as soon as Fu Sinian had passed away. At first, Yu Dao thought he was aiming to take her money himself; she didn’t expect him to bring a woman claiming to have grown up with Fu Sinian and was now pregnant with his child.
They had it all thought out. They knew that without Fu Sinian’s body, there would be no way to prove whether the kid was not his.
Yeah right!
Never mind that this was not Fu Sinian’s child, even if it was, she’d never admit to it.
They wanted to use an unborn child to take over his inheritance? Keep dreaming!
There was no body. Which also meant nobody could proof that the kid was his. Or that he was fertile.
When Yu Duo said Fu Sinian was infertile, Uncle and Ah Yu were both stunned.
Uncle’s first reaction was shocked, then he was enraged, “Yu Duo, what bullshit are you spewing? How could you say that Sinian was infertile!”
Ah Yu immediately seemed rattled and subconsciously placed her hand over her stomach and looked away.
But, as soon as she heard Uncle’s words, she played along immediately. Her eyes reddened, and she choked back her tears, “Miss Yu suspect that this is not Sinian’s child?”
Yu Duo stuttered and seemingly with great difficulties continued, “Sinian is already gone. I never planned on sharing something so personal, but....” She looked over at Ah Yu and her growing stomach, “Uncle, you are family so I will be honest with you. I am not lying. Sinian is infertile. He was.... Injured one year into our marriage and became infertile. Otherwise, how would we not have a kid all these years?”
Her voice was soft and weak, and she looked like a helpless woman. It wasn’t difficult to convince others that she would not lie about such a thing.
“How... how is that possible? Sinian was infertile? Are you sure about that?” Uncle knew Yu Duo very well; she was timid and non-confrontational. She never even dare to speak her mind, let alone making up something like this.

Yu Duo just made this whole thing up on the fly. There was no injury, let alone the medical record. How would she be able to provide that?
“Uncle, as you know. This concerns the self-esteem of a man. Sinian was so angry at the time he burned the record from the hospital, and the hospital no longer has this on file. But, if you don’t believe me, we can wait until Miss Ah Yu gives birth to this child. If it is Sinian’s child, I am sure he will look like Sinian.”
