Chapter 14: Water
In some things, Ye Xun listened intently and had made rapid progress in her learning.
When He Yu finished, she collapsed onto the bed, exhausted. However, Ye Xun hadn’t had enough and continued unashamedly to make trouble for her throughout the night.

Ye Xun stayed there the entire night, and the two didn’t fall asleep until one or two in the morning.
The next day the sun was shining brightly in the sky, but the curtains were closed tightly, and they only opened around 2 pm. In deep sleep, He Yu felt something pressing on her body, but her eyes didn’t open, so she must be feeling it in her dreams.
In her dream, the two of them were separated, and Ye Xun was looking for her in a canyon. The valley was densely populated, the ground was wet, the road was muddy and slippery. She waited for Ye Xun on a nearby hillside and watched as Ye Xun walked over very slowly even though the distance between them was short. She called out to Ye Xun frantically and told her to hurry, but Ye Xun remained indifferent to her pleas.
The dark clouds above them converged together, and rain fell onto the ground, forming a muddy stream. However, Ye Xun was still strolling without hurry, and the rain-soaked her body, the water dripping from her slender knuckles.
When she finally stepped in front of her, and He Yu hugged her tightly, like a dying man grabbing onto their life-saving cure, refusing to let go. She felt sweat drip down her face, a feeling of surviving a calamity washing over her.
Ye Xun rubbed a soothing hand across her back, and whispered seductively into her ear, “Older sister…”

Her chest tightened as she awoke, and she tried to calm her breathing. It took her a long time before her mind cleared up and her breathing stabilized.
Ye Xun had woken up first, cleaned the room, and ordered takeout.
When she felt strong enough, He Yu took a bath first, washing off the sticky sweat on her body.
Around dusk, they went downstairs to walk around when Brother He and his wife came to visit.
The two of them just happened to be passing by and wanted to bring some food and see how she was doing.
He Yu happened to be holding hands with Ye Xun at the moment, an intimate gesture that could not be mistaken for anything else.
