Chapter 193 – He couldn’t deny that he was his most relaxed and happy self when he was with Little Wang (3)

Ruan Xia didn’t have anything to do all day. The manager didn’t assign her any tasks and only had her read a summary of the company as well as relevant information about it. The manager even very politely said to her that if she was feeling bored, she could leave work early. Anyways, the hours for employees in the Overseas Department were very free.

Ruan Xia assumed the manager was letting her leave early because she saw that she had nothing to do, but for the manager to say words like that on her first day of work... Ruan Xia suppressed her surprise. Although she was feeling very bored and wanted to leave work early and go home, she had the conscientiousness to stay at work until the manager left at least.

This company treated its employees very well. There were juices and other drinks in the break room. Around 3PM, the front desk ordered cakes and other desserts and milk tea. They even offered Cantonese-style dim sum and pizza... Anyways, the offerings were very sumptuous.

The company that Ruan Xia had worked at before had also offered afternoon snacks, but it was usually only during national holidays or the company’s anniversary.

After she finally reached the time to get off from work, none of her coworkers moved. Her manager didn’t look like she was intending on leaving either, so Ruan Xia could only quietly sit at her desk.

In the end, the manager came over to her desk and asked with a gentle smile, “Work is over. Why haven’t you left? Where’s your home? Do you need someone to drive you home?”

Ruan Xia: “...”

She hastily waved her hand. “No need, my husband will pick me up. Thank you.”

Perhaps, the manager was just polite, but it was too polite and left her feeling unsettled.

She realized that she might be a masochistic... She discovered today that she preferred people that were somewhat indifferent and a bit colder.

The manager continued to smile. “Then is your husband here? If he’s here, then you should take off early. There’s not much to do today. I’ll assign you a customer on another day. You’ll handle his orders.”

Ruan Xia immediately nodded. “Okay, then I’ll leave first.”

“Go on.” The manager seemed as if she wanted her to quickly leave work.

Ruan Xia tidied up, picked up her bag, and said goodbyes to her coworkers before heading out. She lingered at the front desk and happened to see motion inside the office from her peripheral vision. She looked and saw her coworkers and her manager packing up.

Could it be that they had the same ideas as her? Waiting until someone else left first?

Well, she couldn’t play the waiting game any longer. Song Tingshen and Little Wang were waiting for her in the parking garage.

After Ruan Xia said goodbye to the receptionist, she left the office. The elevator happened to come and she walked in. There was no one else in the elevator, so she took out her compact mirror and lipstick to fix up her makeup. In the past, she hadn’t viewed Song Tingshen as a man that she could have any development with, but after the day when he held her hand, she couldn’t help caring more about how she looked in front of him.

The parking garage for this building was quite large, and Ruan Xia’s sense of direction wasn’t good. After circling the parking lot, she saw Song Tingshen’s car. Just as she was about to quickly walk over there, the driver of a nearby parked car suddenly started his or her engine and the headlights of the car were also turned on. The parking garage had originally been quiet, and Ruan Xia was startled by the sudden noise.

She very conscientiously stepped aside for the black, off-road vehicle to let it leave first.

The windows of the car weren’t down. Due to the window film, she only saw the driver and didn’t get a clear look of the person in the back seat.

The car drove past her. After that car had driven a certain distance, Ruan Xia finally quickly walked over to Song Tingshen’s car. There was no one else around, and the sound of her high heels on the ground was rather jarring.
